Yep, he can play in some position because he isn't only the best finisher. He can make assists very well or support the strikers in the second line of the front line. You are right, he can be placed in center mid or attacking mid who play behind the strikers & wingers. In that position, he doesn't depend on the speed but the accuracy of the assists. I believe he can do it very well.

Messi can play well till his fourties if he want but I am not sure he will play well in Premier League after his 35s.

I doubt if he will play till forties. 38 may be the last age for him to play in a football match. But it is purely our speculation, we don't know what he already plans for his career in the old age. But I disagree to underestimate him to play in Premier League. Never judge that he won't play well till he tries to play there for one season at least.

That second article about Batistuta was an interesting read. Playing professional football for the most part of their lives, it certainly leaves a mark on your body. But that it can really be that bad ... Horrible.

With examples like Batistuta in mind and the increasing pace in modern football over the last decade, it's no wonder that we see more and more players retiring rather early. Benedikt Höwedes (32) and André Schürrle (29) are just the most recent examples that came to my mind. So that Messi will play till his fourties is not gonna to happen. Why would he? He's made enough money for his future generations and won everything with Barca. So why risk his health? If I were him, I would've retired after last season and after this drama with him wanting to leave Barcelona but couldn't.

You're completely right. Although Messi's manager was his father but he was the one that makes Messi have a change of heart when he decided to move to Man United due to the problematic false allegation said about him by the club board despite all his commitment to the club.

Koeman is a good coach. We don't know what his plans are for the Barcelona team. Barcelona's defense line up is just worse now. They need some good defender. On the other hand, Barcelona had some good mid fielders. But Barcelona's management has release Rakitich and Vidal from the team. we don't know Koeman will choose whom for replacement of them. I think in this season, Barcelona team will fully dependent on Messi. Obviously, Messi is a legendary player. We always expect a lot from him. But a team can never get good results in one's performance. All players need to play well from their own position to win.

Exactly, especially when you already have a lot of money (as in the case of our football player).
I don't think Messi is starving, absolutely. But I think he is interested in making many records, and in winning other awards.

When a season ends, and unfortunately it happens, we have to clean up and start from scratch. I am not saying that eliminating Messi is cleaning, but obviously for a healthy regrowth new people are needed who want to do. Messi seems tired to me and he too needs fresh air and new stimuli.
I want Messi in my team, but if i'm coach of barcellona, i dont want Messi. He's tired.

Maybe they thinking it will possible to Pep bring City to final next season. For me, since only Real Madrid can keep the title in two seasons till today, i don't think if Bayern can become the champion for the next season. It is hard to understand from the transfer activities of Manchester City so far. They have weak defense system and that weakness destroys their opportunity in Champions League.

In addition, Manchester City's boss hope to much on Pep. but he likely is a problem of the club in Champions League. He is a great coach, certainly but after he left Barcelona, and especially since the day he took over the coach position in Manchester City, he made very strange decisions (start squads) in important knock-out matches.

@LFC_Bitcoin the simple reason is because he’s a tactical genius, and the book makers believe in his tactics more than we do, so yea that’s one reason why I feel they always favour Manchester City to lift the champions league. Also I don’t expect my favourite club i.e. Manchester United to last long in CL because of their poor transfer strategy so far, but I’m sincerely hoping that they’ll finally wake up, and splurge some cash and purchase quality player’s soon.

They prolly base it on squad depth, who the manager is and prolly individual performances of players.  But yeah, it's a trap.  They never considered how City chokes during big, crucial moments.

In my opinion, the time has come for Manchester City or PSG. Barcelona and Real Madrid are unlikely to be able to compete. They are restructuring. Bayern Munich can hardly show the same game for the second time as this season. Chelsea and Manchester United have just begun to build a new team.
