There is no questions why Bayern is favorites - it's obvious. And City, yeah, they choke every season, especially this one and previous one against weaker teams on paper. But I think it's not main factor for bookmakers to decide odds. Their squad level and depth is one of the best in the world, this is one of main factors.
And if not City, then who? Real? We saw what they can do against City. PSG - I don't think so. Barca, Juve or Atletico - no way.

They prolly base it on squad depth, who the manager is and prolly individual performances of players.  But yeah, it's a trap.  They never considered how City chokes during big, crucial moments.

I totally agree with you, very unpredictable, many surprises occurred. You can look at RB Leipzig last year. He was not even seeded but was able to advance to the semifinals. The intense competition made the players tired and appeared unstable. A club that looks great is very hard to beat, but in football anything can happen.

Why do you blame "bad luck"? I don't think it is only about "luck", but it is about the mentality. Once you are playing at the top level and against the teams from different leagues, what you need first is a strong mentality. You can see some clubs which have fewer top players but they can defeat bigger clubs. Why? It is because they play with a strong mentality and nothing to lose. They play with no pressure, so they can do their best. While a club like Man. City, even they have many top players, they sometimes cannot play with their best because they play with pressure.

Once you are playing at the top level and against the teams from different leagues, what you need first is a strong mentality. You can see some clubs which have fewer top players but they can defeat bigger clubs. Why? It is because they play with a strong mentality and nothing to lose. They play with no pressure, so they can do their best. While a club like Man. City, even they have many top players, they sometimes cannot play with their best because they play with pressure.

A good example,,, but Atletico's style is about stability and frustration to the opponents, which is nice when it works, but in the long run it is a very negative way of playing football (in my opinion). And actually I do believe there is an element of luck, because you can defend all you want against 20 shots per game and get away with it, but especially in KO tournaments you have to be unlucky not to concede one or penalty,,, and then you are out. They still have to tweak their system to be more positive when required.

If you are so sure about Atletico winning La Liga, you should place a bet (@9.00) on them. I doubt that they will have something to do with the title in La Liga but anyway. In the Champions League I wouldn't even count them to the (bigger) favourites. Teams like City, Liverpool, Bayern, Real, PSG or Juve are way ahead of them imho. I see them on a par with Dortmund, Man United, Inter etc. (Chelsea and Barca are hard to judge).

I agree.Atletico Madrid has not done some impressive transfer of players for this upcoming season so most probably they will suffer to be a top contender in La Liga.In Champions League which has way better teams than La Liga has it will be even more difficult for them.However they have chances as long as they get easy adversaries until they go up to 1/16 where then there are no more easy opponents.

Thank you for your advice, but it's still very risky to bet on such a long period of time... It's just that in that championship,  Real and Barca look not very serious rivals for Atletico!

As for UEFA Liague, here I will certainly agree... I just personally like the style of Atletico, and I would like to see them in the final!

I agree with what you say, unfortunately in the game of football the rule of the winning mentality does not always apply, of course having the awareness of being strong and playing to win gives you a higher percentage of success, but unfortunately the ball is round and not always who it is stronger wins! so luck or bad luck in the game has 50% relevance

Do not forget the French in the shape of PSG and Lyon and the Germans! Yes the French champions have lost their opening 2 games (but that is Coronavirus problem you see) but Lyon and Leipzig gave incredible semi performances and Bayern did not lose a single game in the whole tournament, so never discount them my friend!

Would you like to elaborate why you think Bayern and PSG are in a weaker spot than last season? It's not that Bayern has lost key players on the transfer market this summer. No, they even managed to strengthen their offense with the signing of Sane. The only reason why that could be is that maybe the Bayern players are "satisfied" because they won everything already. But I doubt that Flick will have problems to motivate Kimmich, Müller, Lewandowski and Co.

For the Spanish League I think the domination remains with Madrid and Barca, but it is not impossible that there will be surprises. For UCL, they have experienced two finals in 2014 and 2016 but lost and won second place. They have since made it to the knockout stages at UCL.
