Especially with this new virus and the new variant. Infections just keep coming. That will certainly affect the Champions League. How would they deal with that if there were too many infections? The interests are immense, you can't just postpone a match on the same day. Just think, for example, of all the supporters who have bought a ticket. But there is no other solution. Keeping everyone in a quarantine environment would still be possible, but there is no time for that.

Probably the measures to be taken will be determined before the matches begin.  Maybe they will go the way of audience restriction, like in Serie A.  Maybe the fans want proof that he has been vaccinated and they take him to the stadium like that.  Football is good with fans.  The new virus and the new variant have affected football all over the world.  There will definitely be teams in the Champions League that will be affected by this.  Think about it, you have a game one day later and your 4-5 players from the first squad are infected.  You will probably have lost the tour.  This year may not be very fair due to the virus.

I also think that ManCity is one of the big favorites to win the champions league title.
I wouldn't make Manchester City favorites too early to win the title this season but if they do make it to the final then I believe there's a pretty good chance of winning it. They certainly have to learn from last season's mistakes, so maybe they really want to do it this season. Don't forget, Bayern Munchen, PSG and Real Madrid still have the opportunity to do the same and this is still unpredictable. There is nothing wrong with choosing Manchester City, but this is only the last 16.

Manchester City certainly has a good chance to win the Champions League, but the same can be said for PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern, Real etc.
In fact, Manchester City is the favorite to win the Champions League every year since Guardiola became their coach, but they always seem to be missing something to take that last step and win the Champions League.
I have a feeling that in the decisive matches of the Champions League, Guardiola always tries to play without risk and safely, and such tactics have not paid off so far.
We’ll see this year if Guardiola has learned anything from past failures.

City this season looks like a complete team who are good in every aspect, defense, midfield, and attack.
I think if they are able to buy a pure striker in this transfer window, that would be really good for them but other than that, they seem quite strong. The Semi-final draw might play an important role if they qualify. I think this season's CL is gonna be quite on even ground. As all of City, PSG, Real, Bayern look like very good teams.

You are right. If a team has infected players before game day, it will somewhat mean that their tournament is over. As for the fans, maybe showing their vaccination card or report could be an option.
But if the games are played without the fans, it will be a loss for everyone. The fans as they won't be able to see the game, the players as they will lose motivation, and the club itself because a huge amount of revenue comes from the tickets.

If they do frequent testing there shouldn't be an infection bomb hitting anytime just one day before game day. I agree never say never, but there is some degree of control you can have over your club's situation. As for the fans, well, difficult to tell. It is a loss from many perspectives, but it might be a necessary evil to protect people as well. It is not only about the people who are in the stadium themselves, it is also about the traveling to the games and home again, and also about all the contacts people have. There is no 100% right or wrong, but I do understand that everyone who is involved in the decision making process is fighting a big dilemma.

The point is because there must be self-control for both the teams and supporters, at least they must comply with the existing rules and set out during this pandemic.
as you said nothing is 100% right and wrong in this case because all have a share that can be said to be equal.
and again, we can't know where, who and how this process happened because it can't be seen with the naked eye

For as long as the rules are equal for everyone, that's ok. The problem in the international competitions is that rules do differ. Some countries are stricter than others and in sports that is of course not fair, what can you? We will never have a globally harmonized rule set for anything. Maybe Olympia could be an exception, but even that would be a problem now as athletes from different countries would have to comply with different rules I guess. Not in the country where Olympia takes place, but in the country where they come from.

I hope things will calm down and conditions will be the same. In the end though that doesn't mean it is 100% fair as one team might indeed lack seven players while the opponent gets lucky and only misses one or two. Also, it really depends who is going to be missing. Bayern without Lewandowski and Neuer is a different team on the pitch. We'll see how Madrid - PSG will go in February now that they are suffering from quite a number of cases. Given the fact that they can infect themselves again probably makes the PSG management being scared.

Nevertheless, Am quite sure that many goals will be scored.

Without a doubt, we should expect more goals in these games. Since UEFA ended the away goals rule as a tiebreaker in the qualifiers.
Now, if the teams add the same number of goals in both legs of a tie, this will be decided through extra time and, if neither of them scores goals, there will be a penalty shoot-out.

In other words, teams should no longer play in such a defensive way in the first leg. You will see how teams will react to these new rules.

I agree, this changes things fundamentally and now all teams will be on the ball to score more and more, not as before - one attacks and the other defends so as not to concede, sounds strange considering we are talking about football, but I hope you understand) Now a draw is irrelevant. However, I would like to point out that there are likely to be many more extra halves

They have always looked like a complete team in the tournament from the time Guardiola took over, things have not be working for them. Have they?
I think there is more into winning the Champion's League than being a complete team, especially for a team that has never won any.

I still stubbornly think PSG and Manchester City will leave empty-handed in the UCL this season.

Manchester City looks good this season and has a good chance of winning the Champions League, but only for a good impression they do not give the title of the winner of the Champions League  Wink Another question is that their advantage does not look overwhelming and such teams as Bayern, Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid, Liverpool at least look no worse and are quite capable of competing in the title of the winner. Moreover, the result of the confrontation can be decided based on the results of just one match. Personally, I think Harry Kane, Erling Haaland and Killian Mbappe will join the club, but still not in this transfer window Grin

The match is played in two legs, if they can win in the first leg it is a good step for the next match. But in this Champions League full of surprises, a team can win in the first leg, but must lose in the second leg. The reason is that not a few teams that win, even with a lot of scores, have to go home disappointed.

The thing about this year's CL is that almost 4 or 5 teams are of the same strength. In previous years we used to see that RMA or Barca being the clean favourites to win the title.

So if Pep can use his tactics well enough each match and execute them well enough, I think City have a great chance to win. We all know that Pep is a good tactician and this is the year for him to flourish with City. City's team-game has also been very strong. As teams like RMA and Bayern are somewhat dependent on Benzema or Lewandowski, but City relies on the whole team which could give them an advantage.

I think this season might be the season where one of PSG or City will win the cup. Not because they got better players this season, but because big giant teams like Barca or RMA got hugely nerfed this season as players like Messi, Griezmann, Sergio Ramos, Varane left their respective teams and they will suffer because of this.

On the other hand, City this season looks solid - teamwise and playstyle-wise. Their chemistry looks spot on and if Guardiola can lead them match by match, I think they have a greater chance.

Liverpool have a tough draw against Inter actually. Maybe Inter aren't one of the favourite teams of the title but they are still a dangerous team. Their performance in this season also is very good as we can understand from their place in the Serie A too. They aren't doing bad in the Champions League also which should be enough to be a warning to Liverpool. But I still expect Liverpool to eliminate them.
Inter are in a solid form this season. They have a great squad also, and can't probably be beaten easily in a match. On the other hand is Liverpool, also a strong team. This match will indeed be interesting. I guess Inter might resist Liverpool in a first leg which they will be hosting on the 16th of next month. But, I don't think Inter can still resist Liverpool in the 2nd leg. Anyway, let me not be quick to judge because the round 16 will be full of surprises. Nevertheless, Am quite sure that many goals will be scored.

I think Liverpool we have a hard time winning this game in all honesty I think is a 50/50 match both team have great player the only plus for Liverpool here is they have Mohamed Salah,he is such a genius that can change the game in one moment even if Liverpool are playing badly.inter have their own small demon in Lautaro Martinez the Argentine is a creator and finisher.

Atletico Madrid - Manchester United draw is going to be an interesting one too. There is still more than one month to go for the current round to start of course. But we can still make some predictions considering the current conditions of these teams. And I see that they are both in a similar condition now. They both are still struggling in their domestic league matches. So it is really hard to see any of these teams as a favourite. But in my opinion, Manchester United can still be considered one step ahead.

I love the champions league football so much, it’s unpredictability is insane, whenever there is a fixture, you know you’d be expecting exciting drama, and for me I think Real Madrid are in the best position to win it. They are a good team with a great manager and good players with a lot of champions league experience. They know what to do at some certain point in time, the likes of L. modric and T. Kross (midfield mastero) are familiar with playing UCL competition

I just read about Ian rush talking about Liverpool last night, he has a feeling Liverpool would be winning versus inter on san Siro because have great players on each line, especially trio attacker Salah, Mane, and Firminho. but, Liverpool must be careful if the legend turn, Dzeko. He made Wolfsburg get the first time title Bundesliga. Inter also has a good defense, a draw is possible if one or other (salah or mane) have a bad performance.

Both team consistent on domestic league exactly for Inter Milan playing well on Serie A success lead first standing position give more motivate against with Liverpool, but never forget with Liverpool glory on champion league in this season success get all winning on stage group make them most confidence than Inter Milan as runner up standing pass to next stage after twice moment loss from Real Madrid as home and away. I think Liverpool will lead to next stage although Inter Milan have impressive performance on Serie A is not enough to defeat Liverpool on champion league.

Liverpool are playing well in the Premier League. But they are far from the title. Their points difference with Manchester City is 11. Perhaps maybe Liverpool will have to give up hope of winning the Premier League title.
Now they will try their best to win the Champions League title. And compared to any other team in the Champions League, Liverpool's performance is very good. They have won all the matches of the group stage. And they will be completely confident of winning the next match against Inter Milan. Liverpool will win if key players are not injured before this match.

I have no doubt in my mind that Liverpool can not only beat Inter, but they can go on to win the champions league title too because of Klopp and the strong squad he has at his disposal. Lastly while Inter has played remarkably well this season, but Liverpool are very strong and Inter will have to completely raise their standards to beat this Liverpool team.
