All my entire time of watching the UEFA champions league I haven't yet seen Barcelona dropping out during the group stages, I think it's about to happen Barcelona are at the brink of dropping out, and what's worse is that it's Bayern Munich that's dealing them the blows, this just crowns how Barcelona has gone from top of the food chain in europe to now almost being kicked out of the uefa champions league, this is a complete shame.

I'm also used to seeing Barcelona always qualify from the group stage, but now the temporary result is that Barcelona are two goals behind
by Bayern, while Benfica are already 2 goals ahead of Dynamo Kyiv. So most likely Barcelona will fail to qualify for the next round and have
to play in the Europa League. I'm sure this hurts the Barcelona fans a lot, and it's a real shame for Barcelona. I didn't expect Barcelona's
performance this season to be so bad, seeing Barcelona in La Liga who is in 7th position is a shame. Now the reality of Barcelona having to be
eliminated in the Champions League group stage is even more embarrassing, it looks like Barcelona supporters will be very disappointed
to have to see Barcelona so slumped right now.

So we've get to the end of the group stage and Liverpool, Ajax as well as Bayern Munich ended up winning all 6 games in the group stage.

So Juventus got luck today and won the group stage with the "suicide of Chelsea".

Good but some high-risk teams will be on pot 2 too, like PSG.

Salzburg won against Sevilla, this is something unexpected. It was very poor campaign for Sevilla, but now they can move to their favourite tournament .
Lille beat Wolfsburg unexpected easy.
Young United squad didn't managed to beat Young Boys. But it wasn't enough for Young Boys and they didn't even reached Europa league.
Zenit - Chelsea was great game. When did last time Werner scored twice? And what goal equalizer by Ozdoev on last minute.
Atalanta - Villarreal posptponed to tomorrow, direct fight for 2nd place.

I must admit that the score 3-0 is quite successful for Barcelona - Bavaria missed a few 100% of the chances. I watched the whole match and I can say that I am very disappointed by the lack of fans - with an empty stadium, the game seems to be a simple practice. Hopefully in Germany these ridiculous restrictions will be lifted as soon as possible.
Lewandowski could not repeat Ronaldo's record, and if I remember correctly in this match he did not even strike a single shot on target.

The ranking didn't change today in the Group G. Lille were leading by 8 points and Salzburg were following them from one point behind. And the last matches today were Wolfsburg - Lille and Salzburg - Sevilla. I wasn't expecting Lille to lose this match and they even destroyed Wolfsburg by 3-1. But honestly, I was expecting Sevilla to win today. But somehow, Salzburg secured a 1-0 win and ended the stage at the second place. We are going to continue to watch Sevilla in the EL later.

As a fan It's pathetic to witness Barcelona get eliminated from the group stages in the UCL, but I wouldn't say I had high hopes coming into today's match, I was more of hoping that Benfica could would fail to win against Kiev, but that turned out to be a waste of hope as well.

Not so many upset overall, Man Utd and Chelsea failing to win would probably be the most unexpected results for today.

Barcelona in recent times is no match for Bayern Munich, they aren't what they used to and Bayern just bettered themselves in all grounds, confidence inclusive. Though, I sometimes wonder how they get to draw or even loose a game at there Bundesliga.
Barcelona loosing today was inevitable from the way they played, knowing what was at stake and still presented this form of performance was an accept of defeat for me though, there opponent tonight wasn't one that they could hope for the best.
Chelsea on the other hand came up with a beautiful performance even though the goal ended in a draw. T. Werner should a lot of potential but the edge his won for the team was short lived by that die minute goal. Zenot St. Petersburg escaped defeat by a chance.

If we look at the squad played by Bayern, it looks like Bayern are playing their main player, meaning that Bayern really want to beat Barcelona.
Even though Bayern don't have to win games to be able to win Group E, it seems that Bayern want to achieve perfect results. And finally Bayern
won very convincingly against Barcelona, With this result Bayern want to show other teams that they are very serious about winning every game
in the Champions League. Apart from Bayern, there are several other teams that have achieved perfect results, such as Liverpool and Ajax.
For Bayern and Liverpool I still understand they achieved perfect results, because they both have a lot of star players. But Ajax achieving a perfect
result surprised me a bit, even Ajax managed to humiliate Dortmund twice. Since Erik ten Hag became the coach of Ajax, Ajax's performance has
been extraordinary.

Chelsea surprised me today by their inadequate performance in their defense. Because this caused them to concede three goals from Zenit and to lose their lead in their group also. Because Juventus were going to beat Malmo in their home match obviously and they made it by 1-0. Consequently, they are the leader. Chelsea missed a big opportunity to keep their lead and we will see if this will cause them to face big difficulties in the next round depending on the opponent.

I expected that, the first leg at Camp Nou they lost. In addition Benfica won, Barca certainly did not qualify in the knockout phase. Xavi must realise Barcelona are not as strong as he was as a player.

It would be really interesting to see Liverpool get drawn with PSG. I don't know but both teams have been real solid in all competitions so we should expect an action-packed game if that happens. Too bad Barcelona won't be enjoying any more champions league action until next year (assuming they manage to make the top 4 in thela liga).

Anyway, I won't be surprised if Liverpool get drawn to face Chelsea / City/ Man Utd.

I can't believe Chelsea only managed to get second position in their group and the only unseeded team from the Premier League. That was one hell of a game against Zenit. They will probably have a tougher match in the round of 16 because of that but it is what it is.

What changes are there this season?

The so-called away goals rule has been removed, so ties level after 180 minutes will go to extra time irrespective of the number of goals each team has scored at home and away. If the teams still cannot be separated after the additional 30 minutes, the tie goes to a penalty shoot-out.

Agreed. I also can't believe that Chelsea failed big time to secure their lead. Zenit weren't a team that they wouldn't be able to beat. They beat Zenit by 1-0 before and they scored even three goals in the match today. But the real problem was related to defending. I still don't understand how Zenit managed to score the same goals. Chelsea just gave away their lead to Juventus.
