I really appreciated Sporting's performance in the group stage. Because I assume that most of us expected Ajax and Dortmund to advance to last 32 round. But Sporting made people surprised by moving Dortmund out of their way. But I reckon that this is the end of the road for Sporting definitely. Because they have a matchup against one of the favourites of the title now which is Manchester City. I reckon that Manchester City will beat them in both matches and continue.

Liverpool have a tough draw against Inter actually. Maybe Inter aren't one of the favourite teams of the title but they are still a dangerous team. Their performance in this season also is very good as we can understand from their place in the Serie A too. They aren't doing bad in the Champions League also which should be enough to be a warning to Liverpool. But I still expect Liverpool to eliminate them.

Inter are in a solid form this season. They have a great squad also, and can't probably be beaten easily in a match. On the other hand is Liverpool, also a strong team. This match will indeed be interesting. I guess Inter might resist Liverpool in a first leg which they will be hosting on the 16th of next month. But, I don't think Inter can still resist Liverpool in the 2nd leg. Anyway, let me not be quick to judge because the round 16 will be full of surprises. Nevertheless, Am quite sure that many goals will be scored.

These teams are the highly favoured ones for the championship indeed. Especially PSG and Manchester City are seen as one step ahead by many people now. Manchester City were really close to making it in the last season but couldn't leave the Chelsea obstacle behind also. They will do their best to finish the job this time. And PSG have a much stronger lineup now as they have added Messi too. I would really like to see a final game between them.

He made Wolfsburg get the first time title Bundesliga. Inter also has a good defense, a draw is possible if one or other (salah or mane) have a bad performance.

Having great players in a team will not automatically make Liverpool win a difficult match. Inter will never be easy to beat because they also have the same desire to qualify for the next round. I think this season might be the season where one of PSG or City will win the cup. I agree that Bayern Munich is the big favorite in the next round against Red Bull Salzburg. At the moment Bayern is missing like 12 players or so because of Covid and the Africa Cup but we still have almost 5 weeks to go until the match vs Salzburg happens and until then those players will surely be back. The only question is if Bayern can prevent from now on to have more Covid cases. I think even if they are missing 4 to 5 key players against Salzburg for whatever reason then Bayern should still be able to advance, but once they are in the quarter- or the semi-finals they really need all their good players. I think Covid is definitely a big factor in this years tournament.

It's still very difficult to guess to reach the semi-finals. But to qualify in the big eighth I think they are capable. Although Inter are not easy opponents I feel confident Liverpol will qualify. The statistics I know in their four meetings, Liverpol are ahead with three wins and one more belongs to Inter. Liverpol were so great at UCL they escaped without defeat. I don't see them based on the league because the UCL game has a different spirit. I hope no players will be injured until the knockout stage matches start.

Edin Dzeko?  He was with Man City in their title winning season too under Roberto Mancini.  City’s first title since a very long time before that.  Lol.  Dzeko was really good at City but he was mostly used as super sub with Aguero used as the first striker for most of the fixtures in a 4 - 2 - 3 - 1.

I don’t know much about the Serie A but judging from just each club’s current form and with the match being played at Inter Milan, I feel like Inter could win but a more likely result is a draw...  Dunno.  But if I were to bet this it would be something like Inter double chance and BTTS combo at 2.50.  Decent value imo.

I would say it did shake them up a bit. They are not suddenly a bad team, they still have the offense very well and they are doing fine but I would not say that they weren't shaken even a slight bit. In the end they are such a great offensive team that most teams do not end up attacking all that much, if you play offensive against them then you would be getting scored a lot and that is a risk most teams do not take against them.

Sevilla for example has like 5 goals less scored on them, even Barcelona which we have seen as a "bad" team this year got only 5 goals more scored on them. So I am assuming that they are not doing as well as they hoped for. Champions league however is a different area and Real Madrid is a team that knows this all too well. They won it more than any other team and they are just a great tournament team that ends up winning when it's elimination game.

^ As long as a chain of new players doesn't get infected with the by variant, I think that Bayern will be able to get the full squad available before the next CL game.

As far as I know, their next match is in about a month and I think that's long enough for the players to recover from the infection and train and warm up enough before the game. Recently they had some unfortunate results and the COVID can be a valid reason for such result and I hope the COVID won't have any more effect on Football and the whole world in general.
