Both of Bangladesh can be kept as wicket keeper batsmen but Zakir Hasan did not do much as a batsman in the first Test. Is it reasonable to include him in the team in today's Dhaka Test? An all-rounder should have been included in the squad instead.

Why I haven't seen a better performance from Zakir Hasan yet. His performance in every match was poor. And he failed to play big innings. Zakir did not play well in today's match as well. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat. And they lost the first wicket by 29 runs. Zakir Hasan got out after collecting 8 runs off 24 balls. Zakir should bat more responsibly. It is not desirable to lose wickets so quickly in Test matches. Without a good start from the opening pair, it will be a tough task for the team to collect big.

In fact, I don't understand why the team selectors of Bangladesh make such mistakes again and again. Zakir Hasan should have been removed after his poor performance in the first Test but instead he was given a place in this Test as well and as usual he did as bad as before. If Bangladesh can get off to a good start in the opening pair then the next batsmen get a chance to do well but Zakir Hasan has not done well in Bangladesh's opening pair so far. So as a Bangladeshi and supporter of Bangladesh, it is definitely expected from the Bangladesh team management to remove him and place him in the lower teams and from there perform well and get him back in the national team.

However the match is yet not lost for Bangladesh but if I had to take a wager then my money would be on New Zealand as I don’t think that Bangladesh can win this match.

The surface in the second match seems to resemble the one in the first match implying that it's favouring spinners quite nicely. Taijul Islam took advantage of it in the first one while the kiwi spinners like Santner and Ajaz are taking advantage of it in the second one.

Bangladesh are on the backfoot already. They need to reach 200 at the very least to make the match competitive.

I think New Zealand will make a comeback in this second test match and recover from the loss of the test series with Bangladesh. You are right that Bangladesh have already gone on the backfoot, currently their reserve is 104 runs for four wickets. Although Mushfiqur Rahim Shahadat Hossain is on strike now, if they can build a long partnership then I think Bangladesh can set a good target. LOL.. Bangladesh is in some early trouble. After winning the toss, they thought that it will be another cakewalk for them. But things turned out a bit differently. Mitchell Santner, who was included in the playing XI after getting dropped for the first test has already proved his worth by picking up the wicket of Zakir Hasan. Mahmudul Hasan Joy was nabbed by Ajaz Patel. Glenn Phillips will act as the third spinner for New Zealand. There are indications that Bangladesh has prepared another minefield, with undue advantage for the spinners. 

The 2nd match between Bangladesh and New Zealand started today at Mir Pur. Bangladesh did have a good start in this test match and lost 4 wickets for only 103 runs. The top 4 batsmen including their captain Najmul Hossain Shanto did make any runs. Mushfiqur Rahim and  Shahadat Hossain have started to built the partnership and Bangladesh really needs these two batsmen to play as long as possible, preferably till the day end.

Mushfikur Rahim, Bangladesh's best wicket keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is actually not comparable to him. An unfortunate dismissal stopped his innings at 35 today. I don't want to comment about him because he is the pride of Bangladesh.

Such batting on this pitch is nothing surprising. This pitch in Mirpur is completely bowling friendly as we have seen in the past as well. And if Bangladesh could score like 250-300 then the match would have become competitive. But the Bangladesh team does not seem to be able to collect even 200 runs. Now Bangladesh's collection is 137 runs and they have lost 7 wickets. Maybe the team can collect like 160-180 runs. This is a very low run in Test format. The top order batsmen batted like fools. Bangladesh team is not getting good performance from any of the young players in the squad. In the future, this team will face bigger problems.

And so the Bangladeshi selectors are trying to make players like Zakir Hasan more experienced by giving them opportunities. However, Bangladesh's senior players will retire within the next few years. And even then with Zakir, Joy, Shahadat and Shanto it is not sure whether the Bangladesh team will be able to do well. In the future, perhaps the performance of Bangladesh will become more weak. This happened due to lack of long term planning of Bangladesh Board.

Bangladesh's collection of 154/8 in 61 overs. The team can probably collect another 15/20 runs as there are no experienced batsmen at the crease now. Now Nayeem Hasan and Taijul Islam are batting. If Bangladesh could muster more than 220 then they had a chance to continue fighting to win the match. But with so few runs, they are unlikely to do well against New Zealand. New Zealand has a lot of experienced batsmen in its squad. Although the pitch is bowling friendly, I think the New Zealand team will easily collect more than 200 in the first innings. And they can take a lead of 80-100 runs in the first innings.

In Bangladesh's innings, New Zealand's spinners have collected 8 wickets, on the other hand, five wickets of New Zealand have been taken by Bangladesh's spinners so far. So it is impossible for New Zealand to give an innings target of 200 runs in this Mirpur Test. There is no possibility of a draw in this test. Because the Test in Mirpur will not be played on the fifth day.
