Australia is absolutely decimating the Kiwis across all formats these days. This test is most likely going to the Aussies at this point thanks to that insane 10th wicket partnership.

On the other hand, it looks like Ireland will comfortably defeat Afghanistan since they might have to chase a target of around 100-150 which shouldn't be a problem for them.

The New Zealand team has performed so poorly that I am surprised to see the performance in the Test match. Because they performed better than this in the T20 matches, but when it came to the Test match, there was so much fall of wickets that they lost all wickets and scored only 179 runs in the first innings. The New Zealand team will have to perform better if they are to win against the Australian team. Only Glen Phillips of New Zealand team scored only 71 runs and other batsmen did not score more runs.  If you perform so badly, it will not be possible to win with the Australian team.

Poor Afghanistan! They keep trying hard and get so close to winning, but fail due to some or another reason in literally every format. They have some great players, but they still keep losing somehow.

Rehman and Zadran did a good job, but Adair was way better in comparison which is why he truly deserved the MOM award.

It looks as if Ireland may get their first ever test match win today. They need another 85 runs with 7 wickets remaining. Two of the most experienced Irish batsmen, Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie are at the crease. Ireland should win this one, but don't forget the fact that they have already lost 3 wickets. Naveed Zadran picked up the wickets of Peter Moor and Curtis Campher, while Harry Tector fell to the bowling of Nijat Masood. There is no room for complacency for Ireland and they need to make sure that they don't lose any further wickets.

Congrats to Ireland for having first test victory after playing 8 test matches. Afghanistan have played 9 test matches and they have 3 test victories including one against Bangladesh back in 2019. Ireland performed well. They deserve to win this match. Ireland's bowlers took full advantage of Afghanistan's poor batting. In particular I would like to mention Mark Adair. He bowled brilliantly. Adair took 5 wickets in the first innings and 3 wickets in the second innings. Jahrao Craig Young's bowling was also very good. He managed to take 5 wickets in two innings.

Ireland's batsmen have also been able to bat very responsibly. Andy Balbirnie did not play well in the first innings but in the second innings he was unbeaten with 52 runs. Lorcan Tucker batted very well in both innings.

Ireland's squad now has plenty of experienced players. If the players are hardworking and confident then this team can play better in future. And can challenge the big teams. Ireland should now host series against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and West Indies. This will give the players an opportunity to become more experienced.

After having test cap in 2018 in last six years they play only 8 test matches with this is their first win things are never been ideal for them because they are having not good quality and chances for having enough test matches due to top teams unavailability and still their performance is also not good enough to have good performance against top teams because in recent times we have lack of matches for them which is surely having not good for their experience and practice, so things are having not good time just because of this still mostly are thinking they needed to stay in white-ball formats only which will help them for having better things in short time.

But still they deserve praise after having this first win against Afghanistan which is also now down due to their internal issues and most chances their chances for the improvement are also not good in near future.

What I can guess is that Afghanistan cricket team is as strong as they are in t20 format and ODI format but not as strong in test format. Afghanistan team has a very poor record of winning Test formats but they have improved a lot in other formats in a short span of time.

AFG gave very good performance in the SL series and here too they tried their best and we should not forget this is red ball completely different from white ball cricket. The world class players we are talking about didn't play for AFG in this match and they haven't been able to be that much deadly in test matches when they tried too because here there is no pressure to score runs so there is no need to take risk against Rashid khan like bowler so opponents were happy to play no risky shots at all.

AFG is in the evolution stage and they achieved better performances in WC arena than before so that's their accomplished and new talents are grooming as well.

I was actually surprised to see Australia getting all out so cheap, to be honest. 6 batsmen from Australia got out with a single digit score. And nobody was even able to get a half century in the second innings of Australia. Australia already had a very good lead from the first innings. so I don't think they need to worry too much. Right now the drinks break is going on and the good thing for Australia is that New Zealand has already lost 3 wickets pretty quickly. Only for 65 to be exact. New Zealand will have to stabilize the innings right now and not lose any more wickets at this moment. they need 304 more now.

Apart from this Yesterday one of the umpire announced their retirement from Cricket who is the umpire who had said it's a no-ball but it was not and on a free hit a six was done by Virat Kohli.
Unfair no ball did by him at the Melbourne cricket stadium where the Pakistan vs India match was played and there Nawaz was on bowling when he made a no ball, it was not but because of Marais Erasmus it was, and then Virat Kohli hit a six on it from this Pakistan team lost the match in the mood of unfair. However, now he took retirement at the age of 60 after doing many unfair things.

I am surprised to see that part timer Glenn Phillips took a Fifer here and Satner is warming the bench. It was a proper green deck in the first inning and weirdly assisting spinners now, which never happens in New Zealand and it's quite a rare experience as far as from an Indian fan's perspective.

Maybe because spin assisting decks are only reserved for Eng+Aus+SA because they don't have too many skilled spinners barring Australia (Lyon).
