Against a team like Ireland, I thought Afghanistan's batsmen would perform well, but Afghanistan's batsmen could not perform like that. Afghanistan were all out for just 155 runs in the first innings. Ireland's batsmen scored 263 runs in the first innings to give a lead of 108 runs.
Afghanistan batted badly in the second innings as well, so far Afghanistan scored 182 runs for 7 wickets. The way the Afghanistan batsmen are losing wickets, it looks like they might be all out today. I was actually surprised to see Australia getting all out so cheap, to be honest. 6 batsmen from Australia got out with a single digit score. And nobody was even able to get a half century in the second innings of Australia. Australia already had a very good lead from the first innings. so I don't think they need to worry too much. Right now the drinks break is going on and the good thing for Australia is that New Zealand has already lost 3 wickets pretty quickly. Only for 65 to be exact. New Zealand will have to stabilize the innings right now and not lose any more wickets at this moment. they need 304 more now.

Apart from this Yesterday one of the umpire announced their retirement from Cricket who is the umpire who had said it's a no-ball but it was not and on a free hit a six was done by Virat Kohli.
Unfair no ball did by him at the Melbourne cricket stadium where the Pakistan vs India match was played and there Nawaz was on bowling when he made a no ball, it was not but because of Marais Erasmus it was, and then Virat Kohli hit a six on it from this Pakistan team lost the match in the mood of unfair. However, now he took retirement at the age of 60 after doing many unfair things.

Tomorrow we will have result of the game and hopefully it will be Aussies once again.

I am surprised to see that part timer Glenn Phillips took a Fifer here and Satner is warming the bench. It was a proper green deck in the first inning and weirdly assisting spinners now, which never happens in New Zealand and it's quite a rare experience as far as from an Indian fan's perspective.

Maybe because spin assisting decks are only reserved for Eng+Aus+SA because they don't have too many skilled spinners barring Australia (Lyon).

Nathan Lyon is as usual in terrific form, picked 4 wickets in first innings and got 2 important wickets in second innings. Cameron Green is the one who has made difference in the game otherwise NZ might be in better position at the moment. Moreover poor batting from NZ in first innings is also the reason why Aussies are favourite for this game.

Anyone watching the Ranji Trophy semi-finals? The first match is between Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh. A number of heavyweights are in action. From Vidarbha, the star players are Karun Nair, Umesh Yadav and Akshay Wadkar. Madhya Pradesh is even more star-studded, with the presence of Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, Kulwant Khejroliya and Kumar Kartikeya. At this point, it is one man show from Karun Nair. He is still there at 52, while Vidarbha is struggling at 159/8. In the other match, Tamil Nadu is struggling against Mumbai. Both Vidarbha and Tamil Nadu won the toss and opted to bat first, followed by a classic batting collapse in both matches. That's some coincidence lol

Didn't watch the first half of the game but tuned in for TN vs Mumbai and to me, the pitch looked like 3rd day pitch with some rough patches for spinners already in play and they did exploit the conditions nicely in their short spell.

Aussies middle order got some start but was not able to convert into a big total like the first-inning score of Green. Rachin Ravindra scored a brilliant fifty, and he should carry the bat if NZ wants to win this match. Still, a lot to ask from these New Zealand batters against a quality Australian bowling lineup.
