Real Madrid felt the absence of Benzema in their game against Villarreal today. There was a balanced game in the first half but the second half was under the control of Real Madrid more. But there was still no goal after the final whistle. Villarreal were a really tough competitor for them so this result didn't surprise me even a bit. As Sevilla defeated Elche also, the point difference in the standings is four again. There is still a long way to go and Sevilla should keep their chase till the end for the championship.

Sevilla must be contented with the performance level they got against Elche yesterday. This solid effort brought them a 2-0 victory also. They scored both goals in five minutes consecutively. Elche weren't even able to react to the first goal which was a very good thing for Sevilla. If they got stuck at 1-0 for a long time, Elche would have really found the equalizer in the last minutes. And this would really devastate Sevilla about their title competition with Real Madrid. I'm waiting excitedly for the Villarreal - Real Madrid game this evening.

They definitely do feel proud for sure. They are doing some more transfers during this period as well just so they could actually turn that into a championship decider. Not that just one player would decide that but having one more player that could help is definitely a great deal of difference. At the end of the day, they are only 3 points behind and they could fight for a first place as soon as next week if they are lucky.

I still feel like Real will be the champions but that doesn't change the fact that Sevilla is doing better than people expected of them. This is the difference, they are definitely fighting for a title and that is all fans could ask for even if they lose but Real would have angry fans if they lose.

Sevilla have been outstanding this season, they have been making the title race really competitive for Real Madrid. They won yesterday and Real Madrid drew today dropping points and it is just 4 points between Real Madrid 1st and Sevilla 2nd. If Real Madrid gets to drop points again and Sevilla wins then we have a real battle for the title at hand.

No, that's not true. Vinicius, Bale and Asensio are good players at Real Madrid and they have great experience and have won so many titles. You can't say they are inexperienced players just because they didn't score in this game and that is a consequence for Madrid because they can also miss a match.

This is why sometimes the seeded team can still fail to win the match even though many people think they are the favourites. Real Madrid deserved to win, but failed to score and the match ended in a draw. It doesn't matter if the reason is because they don't have Benzema, but Vinicius should also be able to help a lot because he has become an equally important player as Benzeman.

Real Madrid were much more effective in the second half but they couldn't score as they are struggling while they are lacking a real striker in the lineup. And the opponent was too difficult to beat also. Villarreal are one of the best teams in home games in the La Liga now. But Real Madrid didn't lose this game which is still good for them. Benzema is nearly returning and they would start performing like before again.

Unfortunately Real didn't manage to win, but in my opinion it was the right bet and in a similar situation I will make such a bet again. The champion must have time to defeat a weaker opponent from a starting score of 0-0 and when there is still a whole half of the game ahead. At least it must do this at least 1 time out of 3 times.

They proved once again that the situation at Real Madrid is very bad except for Benzema. The draw against Elche, the defeat against Athletic Bilbao, they win against Granada but they did not win very easily. And as usual, they drew again against Villarreal. I can't even imagine what their situation would be like against PSG without Benzema.

Now we will never know about it (at least I will hope so). Today Ancelotti said that Benzema will be able to take part in the match against PSG. Now I will think about betting on the victory of Real in the first leg - it seems to me that the series of failures that have befallen them recently should be interrupted. I haven't heard anything about Neymar, so Real will have the advantage.

Btw with this result am more than certain that Sevilla are celebrating this setback from Real as they narrow down the number of points between them and league leaders...but will this be enough for them to catch up, i dont think so.

With the injury of Benzema surely they are missing some tricks and have not good striker who give them good chances but still having top rank in La Liga table is good enough for them, but they need to do something which is now possible in next season hopefully in current season they will keep this spot end at top even they are not having strength which need to do magic in this league. But, Barcelona worst start and now Atlético Madrid and few other good teams bad run helping them for staying at top.

I know Ancelotti is very optimistic that Benzema can take part in the Champions League games in the coming days and that is good news. Neymar doesn't appear to have any word on when he will be able to play, but he was in the stands for PSG vs Rennes yesterday. Losing the best players like them is a loss for the team but the team should not depend on a player like that.

PSG have nothing to lose as long as Messi and Mbappe can contribute to a match, but without Benzema Real Madrid look as weak as the few match they have been through at the moment. We'll see who's really lucky to take his team to the quarter-finals, this is the match we've been waiting for in the Champions League.

Which Real Madrid strikers do you mean not experienced? As far as I know, all Real Madrid strikers are experienced enough and they have played in many prestigious football competitions. So, it is not true if you think they aren't experienced, in the reality Real Madrid has very experienced players in their attacking line. The problem is only Benzema can score consistently among Real Madrid strikers. Other Real Madrid strikers play very inconsistently during this season, they miss many chances when they have an opportunity to score. Considering this situation, we can understand why Real Madrid really wants new strikers.

What an eventful first half hehe. Nobody would have guessed a scoreline like this and the yellow cards. I don't expect the same number but I will not be surprised if either of the team or both will be reduced to ten men throughout the second half.

We don't have to be bored for the time being. Atletico Madrid 2-0 ahead, the rest are even 3-3. Where do you see that nowadays? I expect a few more goals to come. I'd be surprised if the 3-3 score stays on the scoreboard now. There have been duller games played by Atletico in the league. I think 4-3 or 5-3. 4-4 or 5-5 would be spectecular.

real madrid has not been able to beat small teams, this is becoming a very worrying situation, even if benzema does not play, there are teams that are not strong, but real madrid cannot beat such teams. in my opinion real madrid urgently needs another striker, vinicius is a good player, but bale and ansensio are not good scorers, there are times when they score goals but they are not consistent and this creates a problem in real madrid which consequently does not score goals in games even against small teams

Benzema is an integral part of this Madrid team especially the last 2-3 seasons and particularly this season so the fact that his absence and leadership is felt is pretty much expected. Benzema has come a long way from the time when he, Ronaldo and Bale dominated La liga. Now it's his time to shine and get the spotlight. As for Sevilla, I believe that Madrid will close out the season and win the title.

Few match without Benzema Real Madrid very difficult and forget about how to win, I think still not have good position player can replace Benzema looks Madrid play not consistent few match before, Vinicius Junior not get his magic touch without Benzema and he looks really need good partner where can give service assist and he understand how to service for Benzema create goal. Maybe Benzema still holding for big match on champion league against with PSG next few days later but on La Liga right now Madrid position is not safety and will lead by Sevilla with 4 points only.
