To me,I can say Xavi has changed a lot of things at the club.He brought in some experienced players that can make things happen at the club not minding their age,he just wants the result.

Benzema has a successful career in Real Madrid but he only got a striker position after many years had to play as forward to support Ronaldo in Bernabeu. He has his best seasons in personal aspect in past few seasons but it won't be a long happy time for Benzema. Real Madrid don't have good history to resign new long contract with old players. They also have abundant transfer budget to replace old players with younger ones.
