I think when a team already has good results in the local league, then of course they will chase other titles like the Champions League. But if they still fail to win the Champions League title, then at least they can still target the Europa League title. I don't think the loss to United was "planned" or an acceptable result for the club - it's pretty shameful to be kicked out of the Champions League group only to be kicked out in the Europa League for the right to play there. Xavi has been talking about the Europa League for the second year in a row ("it would be nice to win it"), but again he fails. I believe that we shouldn't really be considering any wins that Barcelona has been any luck or anything. I feel like the best thing to do is consider that they are just too close to each other but looking at the league and even the league game result, Barcelona is a better team this year. Xavi has really turned this club around and the team is not like a full "team", its bunch of players put together, they are individually great but they are not even a team yet, and he will build into that slowly but even right now they look better.
