I don't know why everyone is surprised by this decision. Actually, the FIFA reserves a maximum of up to €7.5 million for one play up to 365 days, which equates to €20,548 per day for an injured player if they get injured during the World Cup qualification games during the 2023-2026 period.

You see these European Competitions and games are so overwhelming and suffocating, they have lead to too many games played seeing players fatigued and stressed leading to long term injuries too. I feel dad for Barcelona and most importantly Gavi who will miss the rest of the season and the chance to play in his first Euro's for Spanish national team.

Gavi is not the only player who has been given this exact fee for having been Injured, same share has also being assigned to Camavinga who was also Injured during the international break.
