Real Madrid lost 2 points with a 1-1 draw away to Vallecano.We expected them to win against an out of form opponent but they failed to do so.Although they played better than their opponent, there was a general tiredness about them.They may have been complacent after defeating Girona, as we have inflicted a heavy defeat on our closest rival and we are close to becoming champions.

It was quite unfortunate that Real Madrid failed to win the match against Rayo Vallecano. Rayo got some bad results in the last 5 matches, they never won a single match and defeated 3 times. So, Rayo was actually in bad condition but they may have a good motivation to give a challenge for Real Madrid. They could play quite well in the match against Real Madrid, they made Real Madrid difficulty to have the opportunities in scoring goals. According to the stats, Real Madrid only has 4 shots on target during the match.

Well, Real Madrid players may feel a bit tired because they have a busy schedule. And they have a problem of some injured players, specifically on the defense line. Girona could have got a draw at least if it weren't for the absolute goal chance that was cleared by an Athletic Bilbao defender in the last minutes. Maybe Real Madrid got only a draw this week but it was still a help for them to get away a little more from Girona.    Actually Real Madrid should have been able to win that one. I think I also agree with you, Real Madrid this season is enjoying a fantastic performance in the league because they are the league leaders and in the champions League they have maintained their winning streak even till the round of 16, for them not winning their last league match against Rayo doesn't mean they struggle in fact they are one of the elite club in Europe that is outstanding this season because their performance in the league and champions League has been excellent and I think they may end up winning the league and also getting to the last round of the champions League which is either the semi finals or final.

I also believe Real Madrid will be the champion of La Liga this season. They simply has no serious competitor and the point gap is quite large with other top teams. Girona is expected to join the race for the title, but they can't maintain their good performance in the last 3 matches. They already got 2 defeats and 1 draw in the last 5 matches. I think we can exclude Girona from the race for the title. Now, only Real Madrid which has the highest chance for winning the trophy of La Liga this season.
