I thought Real Madrid would win easier than this despite not having Bellingham because of an injury. However the winning goal came quite late in the game and it was thanks to Modric's really nice finesse shot. 

Madrid played very well in this match even without Carvajal and Jude but indeed on the other hand Sevilla also played well especially for their goalkeeper Nyland who indeed if he was not good at guarding the Sevilla goal then there were certainly some beautiful goals that occurred in this match for Madrid. Nyland made some brilliant saves from chances created by Valverde or Vini and Brahim in this match which made Madrid so troubled in securing their 3 points.

On the other hand, Madrid's 4-3-3 formation actually gave Valverde more space and I'm quite happy about that because with Valverde being used as an attacking midfielder in this match, I finally saw Valverde's long-lost role again where his trademark canon kick from outside the box in this match really gave me pleasure when watching the match.
There were several chances created by Valverde through his feet but Nyland's brilliance in anticipation and saves made Valverde's kicks successfully thwarted.

The 1 goal score this time is still very good because it makes Madrid still secure 3 points and very comfortable at the top of the standings.

Regardless of what happened in this match, I am actually quite satisfied with what Madrid did even though they only won with a narrow score in today's match.

I don't think there's any doubt to your opinion concerning Sevilla's defense and the fact that it's always very difficult to break whenever they're playing in their full strength but because they were playing against a Real Madrid side that's been the most consistent Spanish team since the start of the season, I wasn't expecting Sevilla to totally stop Real Madrid from scoring in that crucial game. Real Madrid's performance in the game was impressive considering the team they were playing against but I think they would've done exceptionally well than they did in that game if they played the game with a full squad. The injury challenges at the club is the reason why they've not been as efficient as they used to be but because of the extremely rich experience of the club manager Carlo Ancelotti, they've been able to get maximum points in some games they actually didn't perform well.

It seems like you are too sentimental about what other members have expressed here. If you are a Madrid fan, of course it is natural that you want your favorite team to win, but there is nothing wrong with fans of rival teams also hoping that Madrid will lose, right?

I personally am not a fan of the Spanish league team but to be honest I quite enjoyed the match, winning by a narrow score (1-0) certainly indicates that the match was tough and full of tension throughout the match, if you saw the match of course you know what Modric experience was like able to bring change to the match with his single long-range goal.

Yes, I think that is common among both fans. The bad side of both teams will always be there for their respective fans because basically their rivalry affects many things. Yeah I agree with you, when a team implements defensive play then the question is how long they can do it? while matches will run for 90+ minutes meaning there is always a chance to concede, especially in the second half when the players lose concentration due to fatigue. It is not because of Girona that Barcelona did not perform as expected, this season is not just going well for them. The once dreaded Barcelona have been reduced to an average team that no gambler can bet with confidence to win and score many goals. At this point in the league they are eight points behind Real Madrid and if Girona wins tonight, Barca will be in third position. Madrid's problem with injuries happens every season but the difference this season is that despite the injuries, Madrid have been very consistent and their attacking play has been excellent which has made all the difference.

Maybe last season the root of the problem was that Madrid relied too much on Benzema, which is fair enough because Benzema is a very good striker and he is a man who deserves to be the tip of the spear but with Benzema's recurring injuries, he couldn't contribute much and Madrid were a little confused but now with the massive overhaul of Madrid's attack this season, this is the difference and of course this is a good thing because with that, Madrid can now really play well and consistently despite the majority of their young players and players being injured.

I think you are commenting without following La Liga. Rayo Vallecano is never a very weak team. They drew with Real Madrid in the last match. Don't be surprised by the rankings, any score can be possible in this match. Girona should not lose in this match. He must win so that his claims can continue. Barça is behind Real Madrid and Girona is playing to regain its ranking.

The fact that Barcelona is not second and with only 8 point difference, on the year that Xavi got "fired" is still beyond bonkers. Like a few more bad games by Real and suddenly Barcelona is in contention to win the whole thing, how could they think that's bad season? In any case, Girona could make a comeback and be second too but I do not think that they will keep that going for a long time, it feels like they are going to end up with a bad result eventually here and there, which will make Barcelona second.

Girona are moving from grace to grass, their last five matches was so poor to the extent of losing 11 points which was very bad, or are they trying to proof those that were saying that Girona will not make it to the end of the season on top four in the table. Rayo Vallecano last game make me conclude that Girona will not find it easy when playing tonight because Rayo Vallecano had their last game with the strongest team in Laliga and were able to hold on to their pressure from the three minutes of the goal and managed to equalise and end in draw, this alone shows they have improved, but let see if Girona will move back to second or continue to lose form.
