By the way congratulations to Athletic Bilbao on their Copa del Rey victory. I totally forgot about the game while following big games in the Premier League in the meantime. 

I was expecting Athletic Bilbao to win easier than this honestly. Mallorca made them quite big difficulties as it seems. However I believe Athletic Bilbao really deserved this title anyway. This season they are playing at a much higher level. They are trying to take the last spot for the Champions League from Atletico Madrid in the La Liga on one hand you know. I don't feel like they will be successful on that though but let's see whether they can defeat Simeone in the competition.

Girona's success in this season is massive and everyone is impressed but whether they will be able to maintain it in a next season and more seasons in future will be important for their club.

I know the new owners are rich, why should they have budget difficulties? They achieved this success without spending a lot of money, so who knows what they could do if they spent a little more money. I think the new owners now have a more positive view of the team and will make good transfers this summer. A Girona playing in the Champions League can of course be successful by transferring experienced players who have played in this arena, even though they are inexperienced on a club basis. Girona doesn't need to do much, let alone push it with a limited budget. So they just need to do what they can, without needing to add any star players. Because with their current situation they can still provide solid play next season. There's no need to rush, Girona better enjoy the process. Gradually, quality will develop in its own way. Michel will still be trusted to manage this team, and he will utilize the players he has to continue to improve performance. Even though it is now certain that Girona will appear in the UCL next season, that doesn't mean they have to finish in the top 8. Enjoy the process and continue to build the team they were when they started in La Liga. I haven't heard anything new about Pedri since he got injured again. But today I read the news that Barcelona want to extend Pedri's contract immediately. Pedri's contract until 2026 contains a release clause of 1 billion euros. But it seems Barcelona do not want to lose this talented young star. Barcelona must take the right steps immediately considering that Pedri is an official product of the La Masia academy and we know that Barcelona is always enthusiastic about having talented young players in its main squad. Pedri has been playing for Barcelona for quite a long time and I don't think he will want to leave Barcelona to join another team. Barcelona has become his home and maybe he also wants to become a club legend throughout his career.

One of main reason barcelona's debt will never be paid off. If not even a single player wants leave from barcelona, how can barcelona raise some money to comply with FFP? I am quite pessimistic about Girona being able to regain second place from Barcelona, I see this realistically as the two teams currently competing between Girona and Barcelona have differences in performance.

I don't want to believe that Girona will labour since the start of the season till this very moment to remain in the top three of the Spanish La Liga standings and not give their all to make sure they finish the season in the top four of the league table. The fight for who finishes the season in the top four is in the top gear at the moment but considering how impressive Girona have been since the start of the season, I expect them to fight with everything in them to finish in spot that'll guarantee them UEFA Champions League football next season

The Athletic club had a lot of chances to score more goals in this match early on. And also in regular time. So if somehow they were unable to actually win this match it would have been very sad for them. But luckily they were able to win and they were pretty lucky. because honestly, penalties can go either way. It was actually surprising the amount of chances that the athletic club had missed in this match. They had actually scored more than once but those were ruled offside by the VAR. So they have been able to win the Copa Del Rey competition.

Now I think they are going to concentrate on getting ahead of Atlético Madrid and finishing in the fourth position of the table in La Liga.

Everyone was impressed, but at the same time I was disappointed because, after the way they had worked hard, they were even topping the table and everyone was like, is this real Madrid or Girona? They just gave people false hope. That is football for you, it is bad to trust some clubs too much or expect such disappointment from them. and with the experience they have gathered, they will do better, next season, this season is already for Madrid. What pained me the most was how Barcelona passed them and led them by two points. It was not a bad performance from them but they would have focused more and become more consistent, and then they could even have had more chances of winning La Liga in the future, Ever since Sevilla became strong, they are still trying and someday Girona will get to that point in La Liga. Other small clubs might supprass them if they don't get serious.

I think Girona have been improving gradually over the years and the fact that their players have been playing together for long is another thing to their advantage. I don't expect expect to change anytime soon and that will mean that they would have transfoed from a low club to a top team. Of they eventually qualify for champions league next season in line with the expectations of their teaming supporters, that will be a big boost to their morale and team spirit. Indeed the future is looking so bright for them.

There is a 7 point gap between Girona and Athletico Madrid, and they would still be fourth if they drop there, there is a 9 point difference between Athletic Club as well, so it wouldn't be really all that simple. We are talking about just 8 games left, expecting Girona to lose 9 more points than Athletic Club in the last 8 weeks would be a little weird.

I hope that people could find a way to make that work, I can't really see how that would be any different, but if that is what we are looking at then we should be considering the situation to be important. I personally believe that what we have right now would not be easy, and we do need the situation to be a little bit easy for Girona to end at UCL levels this season without a doubt.

On 14 April they are going to play against Cadiz.

They will have to manage the squad properly so that they will be able to win both of the matches. Because there is no option for them to lose or even draw either of them. I think Barcelona is going to concentrate on the Champions League matches right now. Because Cadiz should be an easy opponent for them. Rotate some players and go against Cadiz with moderate strength and on 17 April play the second leg against PSG with the best squad again. I think that should be the plan for Barcelona right now.
