Two Russian journalists, Andrey Sushenkov and Anton Malyshev were abducted by the Ukrainian National Guard near Slavyansk. According to their driver, Ruslan Zaslavsky the duo were taken to the Right Sector stronghold of Izyum.

The resistance fighters shot down an AN-30 recon plane near Slavjansk Shooting down technically less-advanced aircraft such as AN-30 using the 9K38 Igla is not a big thing. The AN-30 is not capable of flying very quickly, and it does not have any anti-SAM systems with it. I am more interested about the claim by the DPA that they have shot down two Sukhoi Su-25 fighter jets over Slavyansk. If confirmed, it represents a major breakthrough for the rebels. It is also good news for us. If those planes follow the path of the plowing migs it helps build confidence our army will last 31 minutes not 30 against the red bear. |

This has nothing to do with the Red Bear, unless you are referring to the Donetsk People's Army by using that term. BTW... the blame game has already started. The DPA is claiming that they shot down the aircraft using the 9K38 Igla. The Ukrainians on the other hand are saying that it was shot down using the 9K333 Verba, a much more advanced anti-aircraft missile, currently possessed only by the Russian Army. |

I am not Russian, so I don't know whether the Russians really want to level Romania to the ground or not. But to tell the truth, I can't find a reason for Russia to wage war against Romania, unless the latter threatens to banish all the Russians (Lipovans) living in Dobruja to some shitty place like Kosovo or Turkey.  And right now, Romania seems to be a very low priority for the Russians. |
