I combed through P.G.'s 45 pages of threads he started to make a "Greatest Hits" compilation, for those who may be interested. There were too many to choose from, feel free to remind me of anything I may have left out.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I never knew Bruno until I found this thread, back in January - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=371708.msg53693149#msg53693149. Even after that, I never knew him. Our only words were exchanged there. All I knew about him is that he has a good sense of humour and many goats-related jokes (jokes which I don't understand, unfortunately, as I didn't study his posts history). All I wrote below represent what a normal man, a stranger, felt for another human being, although if he was also a stranger.

Since then, I kept thinking if I can help this man anyhow, including a call for donations, but I thought such a gesture would make him feel uncomfortable. I also thought to privately talk to a few elder members here, but again, I thought I could be considered a scammer. Or maybe he could be considered a scammer (unfortunately, several discussions about who owns his profile(s) took course in the past and I didn't want to jeopardize his reputation in any manner). I dared to talk only to one person about helping him...

And two months later, here we are. I didn't know how bad is his disease, nor I knew his time is so short... I hoped he would get better as he didn't write this topic since January. Unfortunately, it didn't happen, but there is still hope.

Dear Bruno, I believe you pass through a hard time now, but I hope you will keep your hope. Your faith. And your sense of humor. They may bring you more time...more than these 2 months predicted by doctors. Maybe they were wrong. Miracles happen... Just keep your faith and continue to hope. You are not alone, as I see from this topic, and you will never be! I'm sure your family and friends pray for you, as I do as well.

May your life be longer, way longer than these expectations of the doctors! I also contributed with some BTC. It's not much, but it's given from my heart. Take care of yourself and may God bring you close to your family again...

And, if you can, write us here a few words from time to time... Many are thinking about you!

I'm working on a signature but I'm quite new at it.  Four thousand characters isn't much to work with!  So far I've got this but it's 10X the allowable size:
I know you're a professional designer, so I don't have anything to comment here. My first impression of your design is its sharpness. The image is made so clear that it's easy to see why it's 10 times larger. You have a great contribution! Sharpness is really redundant for signatures  Tongue

There were too many to choose from, feel free to remind me of anything I may have left out.
Maybe you forgot to remind us that the avatar you are wearing should be worn with the signature that xhomerx10 is designing.

Bruno's final exit scam. Please help.

I managed to get it under the 4000 characters and I think time is of the essence here so for the time being, this is the sig if anyone wants to wear it.  I'll continue to tweak it if possible and post any new results here as well.

You point me to this thread and all the things I read here.
I remember Gleb Gamow and his fighting against scam a long time ago. I wondered why is disappear from here, but I never explored. This depresses me now.
it's also a little creepy to me, he is still alive but we say goodbye to him. I've never experienced anything like this.
I will send some donation

It feels like the whole time I've lurked in this forum, you've been around. I always loved that Phineas Gage reference. I'm sending a little something as well.

Is it some crazy coincidence that you picked this name for the forum almost 10 years ago? Do you feel like your personality has changed because of the tumor?

yes

Thank you for contributing, bud.

Holy smokes, I do remember that tale from way back but did not remember the name.     I do hope you defy the odds in a similar way and I'll send along a little donation to the cause.   If everyone sends a bit and theres alot of us on the forum then the target should be feasible i believe, people always underestimate the magnitude of the many.     I'll repost this thread details on the busiest thread I know of next time I post anything there just in case its not already posted or in common knowledge.

I just wanted to point out that only few donations have occurred so far.

Is this what Bruno is to all of you bitcoiners, that have known about his - all too valuable - actions for years?
He has saved you a lot of sats, just remember that. Time to give something back.

Sorry to see you go man.
It is my duty to help, carry you home.

Hey Bruno -

I am truly saddened to learn of your condition. You're one of the good ones, bud. You were the instigator of relief for others. I'm contributing in Zoey's honor.

Godspeed, my colleague.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

One of the most entertaining threads I've ever read: Leroy Fodor has gone Full-Delusional!

I am a little confused about how many accounts Bruno had been maintaining, so I remain somewhat unclear about what my various interactions would have been with him over the years.

Of course, the sadness of likely impending death and also some loss of motor functions that Bruno describes and even likely ongoing losses of cognitive functions is sad too, and just the choice of the username, Phinnaeus Gage likely demonstrates that Bruno likely knew about aspects of his condition for several years before recently finding out that he ONLY has about two more months to live... which yes, by the time that any of us might get to a point that we are ONLY expected to live another two months, our condition would likely have deteriorated drastically both on the inside and the outside.

The human condition can be quite complicated, and even the fact that many of us do not necessarily share too many details of what struggles might be going on with our meat-wagon on a regular basis.  Some members likely struggle from ongoing chronic diseases, and others might get removed from the physical space without any kind of notice, whatsoever.  Theoretically, we can speculate about what way we would prefer to go, but frequently the choice will not be of our own volition, and many times when we are younger, we experiences feelings of immortality that are revealed to us as having had been too pie in the sky, as we get older and end up dealing with more and more real and inevitable degenerative conditions that happen when we are lucky enough to have been able to live into a relatively older age.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Reading this at April 1 made me think that this was an April Fools joke but when I read the whole post and see the date it was created I felt sad that this was really happening from one of our members, Although I can't help monetarily all my prayers will go to you and your family in Indiana and Illinois. With how you are planning to spend the donations you receive I know that you have accepted your fate but I'm just here to tell you that you don't need to be sad about it. Right now I just viewed some of your transactions coming in to your wallet addresses and based from my calculations you have received 2,580$ worth of Bitcoin, 218$ worth of BCH, which I think is really big especially when you just posted this last 3 days ago. Here is a free bump for your thread.

The ones that are almost certainly Bruno:

  • Phinnaeus Gage - held as collateral by darkstar_ at one point
  • Gleb Gamow - sold to suchmoon
  • YuTü.Co.in
  • AGLD - although the link I have is inconclusive now.

I won't post the ones that are thought to be him as well.  No point dwelling on that now.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending

I decided to take some time out of my day to write a thread about the main account of the most prolific member on the forum. That account is Phinnaeus Gage, and that man is Bruno Kucinskas. Initially I was going to do a compilation of all the scams Bruno has exposed over the years, but that in itself wouldn't do his contributions to the forum justice, so I decided to dedicate 3 separate threads to his 3 most famous monikers (this being the first).

First, a couple of mind-blowing statistics. Across Bruno's 3 main accounts, Phinnaeus Gage, Gleb Gamow, and YuTü.Co.in, he has amassed a total of 44,776 posts and started 1,628 topics.  Shocked  He possesses 2 accounts currently in the top 10 members by number of posts, making him far and away the most prolific poster on the forum.

To say Bruno is a man of ideas would be an understatement. He spent years formulating ways in which Bitcoin could be improved, better marketed, and more highly utilized. He dabbled in everything from improving security to increasing adoption to hosting various giveaways and challenges in order to help spread the word. As such, Bruno is a true ambassador of Bitcoin.

In addition to the sheer number of hours Bruno put into helping Bitcoin along its path to global recognition, he provided a lot of much-needed entertainment in a space that was otherwise relatively dry in terms of humor. Over the years he penned countless poems, odes, jokes, theses, news articles, mission statements, wanted ads, contests, riddles and even screenplay pitches. He also loves goats.

The Greatest Hits of Phinnaeus Gage

First Bitcoin Charity

Bitcoin 100: Developed Specifically for Non-Profits (11/11) - the first bitcoin charity project, and perhaps the biggest held on the forum to date, raised 681 BTC and distributed donations to 83 Non-Profit Organizations.

Below is a screenshot of Bitcoin 100's now depleted coffer, bringing an end to the era  Cry of the first, and perhaps most successful cryptocurrency charity/NPO to date, endowing a total of 84 mostly venerable charities priorly not accepting bitcoins et al. as a donation option till such an option was introduced to them. The exact number of NPOs which Bitcoin 100 endowed was 83, adding Jason King's Unsung at the very end, along with endowing The Water Project a second time thanks to their continuing noble efforts of supplying clean water to those in need in hard-pressed Third World countries: https://thewaterproject.org/how-we-work

Bruno administered several other charities during his time as Phinnaeus Gage, never taking a penny from them for himself, always insisting that excess funds - or funds promised to him by others - be given to someone else.

Scam Research

Bruno is one of the first and foremost scambusters on the forum, and its safe to say nobody has come close to matching his tenaciousness and output over the years. He had a lot of run-ins with folks at Butterfly Labs, who eventually doxed him and forced him to give up his anonymity. Here is his first comment that I can find on his career as a scambuster, from a thread entitled "Attention All Scammers!!!"

The time has come to try to put a stop to all those who think they can come here, pull the wool over our eyes, and leave with bitcoins in hand. From this day forward, I will do everything in my power to expose you bastards.
...

As a scambuster, Bruno was no fan of the trust system, preferring instead to confront the scammers head on and ground them into submission, until they could no longer take the beating and just leave the forum.

Here is a list of some of the scams he helped research and uncover under the P.G. moniker:

Bitcoinica - one of the first web-based bitcoin exchanges, and the first to perform an "exit scam" on its users while blaming their problems on a hacker.

Connecting the dots or coloring outside the lines? (7/12)
Dr. Kevin Lim PhD = Zhou Tong ~ Not a conspiracy theory! (8/12)
Bitcoingate (8/12)

Trendon Shavers / pirateat40 - user pirateat40 ran a giant Ponzi scheme that collected several thousand BTC to be put into a secretive "Bitcoin Savings & Trust" program which promised huge returns to its investors. Shavers was the first bitcoiner to ever serve time for running a Ponzi.

Trendon Shavers/Pirate ~ New Info (9/12)

Butterfly Labs - an early miner production company that was notorious for delaying shipments of miners to long-waiting customers. Josh Zerlan, BFL CEO, is the originator of the now-famous expression, "in two weeks", as a reference to how long customers should expect to wait before receiving their miners (which frequently came much later, if ever).

BFL's days are numbered. You've all been warned. All those who come a cryin' later will be laughed at. A real investigation is in the works, for I've personally have had two agencies contact me. What's puzzling is I ain't got a clue as to how they got my contact information. Odd! But, I guess they have their ways.

BFL ignores their own customers/investors on their official forum. (7/13)
Hosting BFL miners at J Morgan & Associates? (7/13)
In their defense, BF Labs Inc. has excellent Customer Service. (8/13)

MtGOX & Brock Pierce - we all know about MtGOX, but what is interesting is the Hollywood child star Brock Pierce's connection to it, of which Bruno is not exactly a fan -- especially after Pierce became a member of The Bitcoin Foundation.

The First Bitcoin... (8/11) - a long list of several Bitcoin's "firsts"... probably the first list of Bitcoin firsts, which would render it perhaps the most accurate...

Topic: Bruno vs Roger Ver (1st Bitcoin Match) (10/12) - in this thread, Bruno challenges Roger Ver to an MMA fight, with the proceeds going to charity.

The Mega Thread that Feeds People in Need (9/13) - in this thread, Bruno collects donations for Sean's Outpost, which was a bitcoin-based charity that provides meals to the poor -- he collected enough BTC to buy 2,703 meals.

An Interview with Bruno Kucinskas: The Anti-Scammer - a candid, off-forum interview with B.K. about his career as a scam buster and his days as P.G.

(there's plenty more threads that should be added to this section, but I fear I may have already warn out my welcome considering the current length of this post)

Here's one final P.G. post that encapsulates his humor and unique way of viewing the world that I leave everyone here with.

Yesterday morning I stopped at a cafe, oppose to the dinky service station available at that exit, for a cup of coffee for the road and to take a shit (apologies to the non-coffee drinkers  Roll Eyes). I asked the pretty petite girl donning the usual metal, once only saved for earlobes, if they took Bitcoin. She replied no, but said she heard about it when I asked her. Then I told her who I was. Come to find out, she has visited BitcoinTalk, and her sister is a big Bitcoin fan, of which is probably a member here. She asked for my autograph, of which is going to be given to her sister as a Christmas present, having to now no longer worrying about what to give her.

Soon, I'll be able to charge $400K USD for speaking fees, along with charging 1 BTC for lap dances at bridal showers. I've noticed more and more people staring at me in public now ever since Bitcoin started to enter the mainstream. I don't know what my future agent will be charging for commercials, but the first one I'll do free minus expenses since I'm a nice guy.

I look forward to the girl that received my autograph as a Christmas present to post here and state how happy she was/is.

If after reading all this you feel at all compelled, now would be a great time to show your appreciation for Bruno. You can find out how to do so by visiting his latest thread.

From the bottom of my heart, thanks Bruno for everything you have provided the forum over the years.

But the saga isn't over yet -- stay tuned for part 2 of our 3-part series, featuring Gleb Gamow, when we return from this extended commercial break.
