I'm back from my vacation. 100BTC is now $600 to $700, instead of $250. Does anyone have any plans to do anything with the stash yet? What's the progress on contacting charades? Please don't let this project die. There is already a lot of bitcoin committed to it.

Welcome back, Rassah. I'm on my way to Chicago to meet up with Rashid. Any relation? To get up to speed, read the ChicagoCabbie thread. No worry about this dieing. sadpandatech sent out 5 more emails and we're waiting for replies. Remember, we still have 90 (or is it 95 or 99) in another wallet to seed other pools. How was your vacation?

What is this?  Nothing comes up in search.  Does this have to do with a charity?

No charity, just a cabbie in Chicago who seems interested in accepting bitcoins.

Still around.

I believe 2012 will be a great year for Bitcoin100 and Bitcoin in general. I think it's natural that this project slowed down a bit during the Christmas / New Year period. I just came back home from a two week vacation, didn't use much Internet when I was abroad. I now have more time to help with this project, if required.

Sorry for the confusion, RaggesMonk. You're right! It doesn't come up in search if you use the white search box in the top right. But if you use the other search box located in menu tab, it comes up. Rassah has been on vacation for a couple weeks, therefore my reply was a quick hodgepodge of ideas/comments/questions directed toward him. Forgive me for not answering this, myself, earlier, but I was in Chicago having dinning with the Chicago Cabbie.

I hope that the fact that the search box only searches within the current post/subforum isn't lost on anyone. So to search the entire forum make sure you're at "home" or otherwise not in any post/subforum.

Bruno, did you notice that in the Charity List thread, Anice(sp?) added her and a friend's donations to Bitcoin100?  That puts us over 100 people now!!  Grin

btw, will update on what was sent out last and gear up for the next round here soon(tm).

cheers

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

I saw it, but then spaced it off. Was all caught up with ChicagoCabbie and the upscale French restaurant that's being remodeled with some of my wood which needed me in The Windy City going on four days total now. Will have this all updated in a few. Thank you, Derek.

Ledger at http://bit.ly/sgUtZo updated/reconciled. We apparently got another 2.012 donation to the Ron Pal address. Someone should do something about that...

How's the progress on the web site coming along? The topic here keeps getting buried in the new threads.

website, website website!  i wold love to be able to post a list of contacted parties and their replies, if any, to the site!

Update; no replies yet. In light of the time of year that it is, I am going to resend out to the first 6 and if no word back by Monday, Jan. 23rd then I will work on the next 5 in the list.

cheers

FYI, the wallet is now running in a secure Linux environment (was in an encrypted Windows folder before, though I run AVG and Malwarebytes, and haven't had a virus or trojan in my life ever). That wallet total is also now worth about $2,000USD (including funds I'm storing for those who asked). That's a lot of money. I sure hope someone asks me to do something with it soon...  Embarrassed

I think we need to step up on the speed with which we contact organizations. The answer-rate seems to be fairly low. This project needs one success to get going again, we're in stale mode right now.
