Wish the dev atleast had the balls to come in once in awhile and communicate.  Angry

The community has been just as involved in developing this coin as the original dev.  Don't blame the scientists.  You should be asking for the guy that holds the donation address and IPO funds where he has been and what he has planned for those funds.  As far as dev goes.  We're right here =)

There is also still activty in IRC... freenode.. #cleanwatercoin

Voxelot, when you reviewed the wallet code for the last fix did you notice if there was anything built in to run the charity donation aspect of the coin? According to the original post, 0.1% of every transaction will go to the charity wallet, which will be regularly exchanged to BTC for charity donations. This function seems to be missing from the wallet, I just sent a 300,000 transaction with a 0.01 TX fee and 300,000 turned up at the other end. If this was working properly, 300 coins should have been sent to the charity wallet and only 299,700 should have been sent. I have emailed the devs directly about this and they have not bothered to reply.

Also, the advertising banner has disappeared from my wallet. I thought that selling this space was supposed to be another donation source for the charity? Any idea if any more advertising partners have been brought on board? (I have all the belts I need)

So currently, no auto-donation with each transaction and no advertising revenue source. Can someone please explain to me how this is still a 'charity' coin?

Their wallet seems to take a while to send transactions, it just means the funds are earmarked for withdrawal. Go to the home page and click "Site Status" then scroll down to find the WATER wallet - when I just checked it was showing that it hadn't updated for 16 minutes. I have had this issue a few times but just keep an eye on it and when the clock resets to zero your withdrawal should come through.

Yes, last time Richie was in IRC -- I recall him saying that it takes 10 confirmations? Not 100% sure, but it's something like that.

I have coins stuck there and so far no word. Pretty bad I would say.

Any word on The Official Pool of Clean Water Coin???

Priority #1 right now is wrapping up the wallets, and then immediately getting the pool all cleaned up. We are juggling the best we can with limited resources right now -- so if you know any pool ops that know how to use a command line, let us know! We got a bounty waiting for them Wink

I can tell you that the banner is gone because there was a function overload problem where a call was made incorrectly and I was not able to find it in time for the need of a working wallet so I removed the entire banner.cpp code.  It was later revealed to me where the error was so a recompile is needed to get the banner back up.

As far as the TX code.  I have not been able to find where the original dev has coded this feature but you are correct that there seems to be no donating going on from the TX fees.  All I know is that there is a script from charitycoin in the source and that script would send a percentage of block rewards to the foundations address.  I can't say for sure if they just compiled from charitycoins source and implemented a new feature to control the TX fee or not but it wouldn't surprise me if this was not tested if it was implemented and is not working.  I'll try to dive deeper when time permits.  Cryptowest in irc would know more about the implementation.

Hi CWC miners,

Our wallet has been broken since a couple of days, and we couldn't get any remaining transaction out. Since the devs are a no show, and we need space on our setup to bring up pools for more active coins, we have decided to shutdown this pool. At this point, there are 800 000 WATER left, stuck on a wrong fork, and no way to get them out. We will simply wipe them as we spent a ton of time on this, and we are just done with this coin.

http://water.suchpool.pw is now closed.

Thanks for those who have mined with us, sorry for those who lost payouts in this.

Have you been able to touch base with cryptowest? If not, hit him up on IRC -- as he is pretty close to the new wallet.

As I mentioned I have been trying to get updates from the devs and I have now received an email back from co-founder Zach Mettra. I'm sure he won't mind me posting it here as it should help boost everyone's confidence in this project, it certainly has for me! Sounds like there are good things happening...

Hi

I just got back from the airport, and am doing the best to play catchup as quickly as I can.

Here is a short list of what has been going on:
• We paid another 2.5 BTC to a developer to help us get everything back in order including and most importantly the following
#1 windows wallet with ad spce
#2 mac wallet with ad space
#3 updated tx issue (some pools still have that issue)
#4 updating the official pool
#5 finish building the 0.1% transaction donation feature (can't be done until the tx fee is finished)
#6 start rolling out "plan b"
• we've contacted our media sources and told them to be on standby within 1-2 weeks so that we can essentially "re-launch" this thing succesfully
• we will have paul start ramping up social media later this week as we get closer to the list above
• we are putting together a list of things to bounty out for (any suggestions would be welcome)
We updated the website a bit last Monday (not sure if you've seen it), and we will continue to work on the 2.0 website as soon as that list above is complete.
I know this has been a mess for everyone -- including the community, but please understand that this was not suppose to happen. It was a lazy mistake by our lead developer, that has severely set us back on our initial marketing strategy. Myself and the other founder both have babies, and full time jobs -- and this auto-pilot approach that we had in place will only work when we get 1-6 done above.

It sucks. It's annoying. It's frustrating. And we've had to spend a lot of money to keep this thing from sinking 100%.
I know you have been putting in an enormous amount of community/irc time -- and that does not go unnoticed.
Please weigh in on what else we could be / should be doing -- your feedback is priceless.
Thanks,
Zach
