PSG should be able to defeat a team at Clermont's level with the available player material. even though in reality, the coach, Luis Enrique, did not reduce his main players to become the starting eleven. however, it is understandable that Luis Enrique gave more opportunities to 17 year old young players who played on the wing and other young players who played as wing defenders. and as a result, PSG was unable to get full points even though in the second half the main players such as Mbappe and others were introduced. the match ended with a score of 1-1, despite the fact that Paris Saint-Germain fell behind first.

PSG in the league are doing very greatly and in that match against Clermont, you would not expect PSG to be struggling as psg are far doing great as they’re clear even on point. In that match over the weekend, PSG rested most of her key players for the UCL game and you can see the difference im the second half

Lyon did wonders in the second half of the league. They played admirable games. They were fantastic and there was no trace of the bad football they played in the first term. Even if they cannot go to the European cups this year, the football they play in at least the second half of the league shows us how dangerous a team they can be when concentrated.

I can't understand what happened in Lyon to make this team get progress after the new year but they had a really bad performance and got bad results even against the weaker teams that were expected them to win. Lyon was a strong team in the past and was racing in the top side of the French League with the other teams but now this Lyon is far from the good days, However, they have got much better results than before.
They even won the Sema final match of the French Cup against Valenciennes with a 3-0 recently.

nothing is impossible in the remainder of this match and there are lots of surprises that will happen even though Lyon will face a stronger team but actually Lyon doesn't need to win in the upcoming match but is quite consistent in getting 1 point which is more meaningful for Lyon.
I mean when we look at the performance of the top teams that you mentioned, they have had several draws, like PSG have ended in draws several times and Lyon could have done the same thing, even Brest has also been beaten Lens.
and also Monaco or Lille which could end in a draw against Lyon when Lyon performance is currently in a more stable condition than before.
but I might have to agree with you that Lyon would be better off ending this season in the top 8 or 10 and that's much better than being in the relegation zone like at the start of the season which makes me really worried if a popular team gets relegated.

I agree with you with Lyon's current situation, they are safe enough to be in the top 8-10, if they can be in a better ranking, but the obstacles that Lyon has to face in the remainder of this match are not easy for them to overcome and win consistently, because in the remaining 6 matches this season, 4 of them have to face clubs that are currently at the top and 2 of them face mediocre clubs and relegated clubs, so technically Lyon will face quite tough clubs in the remainder of this season, so it is impossible for Lyon to be ranked in the top 6 if Lyon is unable to beat these clubs even though the difference in points with the club that is ranked 6th is not too big.

And on Monday, Lyon will face Brest. There aren't so many league games this week by the way. The only interesting one to me is Lyon - Brest. I am not at all surprised by the defeat experienced by Paris Saint Germain in this match, because at the start their chances were not much different from Barcelona. but actually their game was not disappointing either, the match was quite tight but Barcelona managed to be more effective in launching attacks so they were able to score 3 goals.
Paris Saint Germain were also not without opportunities, but once again they were no more effective than Barcelona so they could only score 2 goals. Even though they lost, they still have a chance, although it will definitely be more difficult in the second leg. It's very hard to believe it. Mathematically, yes, but reality may be very different. I strongly believe that Lyon may be able to climb a bit higher than the current position. You can't even be sure that Lyon will always get good results in the remaining matches.

I know that, but Lyon has done it very well this time. It was leaving the good relegation zone. I'd prefer to see Lyon not set a very big target because it will burden all of its players.
Lyon needs to consistently winning the game. Void the relegation zone and keep play in the league one for another season is already big achievement by the club.

Pierre Sage is really know how to handle this team and i think Lyon should be hire him at the beginning of season but it's still not late because Lyon under him was very impressive and since December last year with Pierre Sage Lyon has been through an 21 matches in all competitions and from those matches Lyon can collect 14 wins which is in my opinion this is very fantastic because before Pierre Sage handle this team Lyon have to changing manager several times because of poor results which they got and now they have already safe from relegation zone and if this positive trend will be resumes until end of this season then very possible Lyon will finish at higher position on league table

I have been discuss about this before because next weekend they will gets hard match against Brest and this match is good to tested Lyon consistency because we all know Brest also very fantastic this season they even have already reach to runner up position and if Lyon can able to overcomes Brest then very possible Lyon can taking over Marseille or Rennes position on league table however do not forget too Lyon still have the opportunity to gets the trophy this season because on France Cup Lyon can able to eliminate Valenciennes on semifinal and advances to the final match of this competition and they will facing PSG for the final match

The negative results they received in the last 5 matches threw them down to 5th position and now they are 5 points away from the nearest team above them. At the start of the season they were very promising, but unfortunately they were not consistent enough to enable them to maintain their performance like at the start of the season.
one of the weaknesses that made them decline was because they were not very good at completing their attacks. Yes, they have difficulty scoring goals, which makes it difficult for them to win. Big competition going on between Lens and Nice. The competition for the fifth position which is in the Europa League group stage. The team which finishes in the fifth position will be able to play in the Europa League group stages. And there is only one point difference between these two. The problem is none of them are actually performing well and consistently in recent weeks. Lens objectively has a better performance compared to Nice. But it is not that much better for sure. And in these circumstances, it is actually hard to expect what will happen. Because any prediction can go wrong when both teams are performing badly.

Dembele played very well, it's a shame that Barcelona is superior and has more experience in the UCL so PSG have to admit that this narrow defeat can still be avenged in the second leg match. I think had bad mentality impact for PSG performance in domestic league match after defeating by Barcelona on first leg quarter final match in champion league although lead over many points left from Brest on the top Ligue 1 standings. Second leg matches will play on the next middle week so left day taking rest for Luis Henrique recovery their players back to winning mentality on second leg.
PSG has advantage with domestic league schedule match, in this week without any Ligue 1 match and their players will recovery and come back on second leg match win above two aggregate goals if want eliminate Barcelona in front of their fans.

So, I wonder what they will do when they visit Camp Nou for the second leg game because they will need to work very hard and need two goals to qualify, whereas Barcelona needs little or no goal to qualify for the next stage.

PSG are on another level and wi continue to surprise everyone this season, there's only competitive clubs to fight for this title. Paris Saint-Germain have no business with Ligue One matches but they will channel all their energy to UEFA Champions League because that's their major aim of winning a title that will be significant to the team and the supporters. Luis Enrique is working extremely hard to ensure things run smoothly for the club though he will face slight challenges he wouldn't get used to but he will try his best to pass this particular challenge.

Don't be really conclusive with saying that PSG has got no business with Ligue 1 matches, in as much as it feels like they are not going to get much winning the Ligue 1 trophy due to the fact that they have always won the trophy too often that it's almost becoming a norm for them, they still have need for winning the trophy regardless as it adds to their records this season for winning a trophy this season.

It will be sad if they go a Season without a trophy and that's why will not mind winning the trophy this season and getting to add it with any other I'd they get chance at winning another because the champions league is currently looking like they are not going to win it just like that due to the fact that they have lost their first quarter finals game already and they have a very slim chance to proceed to the next stage of the league so they will literally have to work hard if they must get a chance at the champions league again as their opponent isn't even relenting at all to winning the the next fixture.

It's actually no need that the champions league hs always been the biggest drive for PSG and ofcourse they can get it if they are in a better form and have the depth and strength to contend other teams to win the champions league as it's an elite league such that they don't win by mare qualifying, to win the champions league, PSG needs beyond buying new and big players to be able to get the very best off the champions league.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if PSG drew against Clermont. PSG have a tough game against Barcelona in the Champions league so I think they are focusing more on the UCL. PSG has a 10 point advantage over second place. That makes them not have any pressure in the League. They can play with reserve players or try to rotate players to adopt the coach's tactics. I think other teams will be very difficult to catch PSG. I'm sure even Brest won't be able to get 1 or 2 points behind PSG. I agree with what you said that PSG does not have worthy competitors in Ligue 1. That is what allows them to continue to dominate Ligue 1 for a long time.

We can say that Barcelona has now passed 70% of the round. This is a big advantage. They won 3-2 and this victory in France will help them relax in Spain. In Spain, they don't even need to show their best performance; just trying not to concede a goal will be enough for them to pass the tour. It was a great match for Barcelona.

Yes, they are indeed fighting for a place in the European zone, but only one of them can occupy that position, the performance of both of them is not very consistent and there is only a small difference in points. I think they will alternate places for 5th place unless one of them is able to perform. If the rest of the season is impressive, one will be sure of placing it, but if it is still unstable, it is not yet certain who will qualify for the qualifying round.
Nice is experiencing a decline at the moment and is no longer like the start of the season, therefore maybe he will fight as hard as possible for one of the big competitions so that the struggle since the start of the season is not in vain, while Lens also doesn't want to miss a big competition because he has felt it this season and wants to Again, repeating that, currently it is quite difficult to predict whether these two clubs will occupy the top 5 positions.
