I believed Arteta is looking ahead to the end of this season before signing new players, however I don't think he knew the task of clinching the UCL spot will be very challenging if that spot is guaranteed quality players will sign for the club.

Yes, although currently the difference in points between teams in the top 5 is very thin, but Arsenal's next opponent is Wolves, which incidentally is also chasing points to reach the top 4 position.  After all, this is the entrance ticket to UCL.  If Arsenal are not able to overtake the 2 teams above just by beating Wolves later, I think it will be difficult for Arsenal to be able to rise again with the team's condition internally quite shaky because of Aubameyang's departure even though this is indeed the management's hope..

Wolves is really tough for Arsenal apart from this is an away game for Arteta, I see how Wolves are doing really well at the moment and Arsenal are experiencing a bit of a woe after losing and drawing the result, if Arsenal can't get points it will be very difficult to get UCL tickets and Arteta had to fight again to pioneer back in a better position.
After Aubameyang's departure this will not worsen the front line and remain consistent with what is.

I'm hearing rumors that there was severe tension between Aubameyang and Arteta and this is the main reason for selling Aybameyang to -snip-

If I'm not mistaken, Arteta's anger was caused by a mistake made by Aubameyang. Auba very often takes disciplinary action, this makes Arteta take strict action in the form of a sanction for not playing. This action was done by Aubameyang around November or December, I can't remember for sure, you can search for it if needed.

Any coach would do the same with Arteta if their players didn't have a good attitude for the clubs and manager. Likewise in barcelona, maybe if Auba is bored, he might take disciplinary action again. Remember what Balotelli did? Auba's attitude is not so far off with this Italian player.
Aubameyang undisciplined attitude which for Arteta is a principle that all players must adhere to. I think it's only natural that Aubameyang was sent off in the end and made Arteta feel no loss. Now under Xavi will Aubameyang do the same, not wanting to improve his discipline? wouldn't that backfire for Barcelona and Xavi should be able to remind Aubameyang to be better than before?

Yes, I have heard quite a few times Auba breaking the rules of the club or the coach. You know, different clubs have different views and rules.  Wink

Such as, you may know, Pep Guardiola doesn't allow his players to eat Pizza at any time.  Cheesy

So, Auba's actions may be made Arteta take reactions, and maybe that's what fueled his transfer to Barcelona. Whatever it is, I just hope that he does well with Barcelona.

Maybe the tension you mean is between Arteta and Aubameyang?
I think the tension is now over after Aubameyang departure to Barcelona, indeed Arsenal still have a chance to reach the Champions League zone, but I don't think it's an easy thing for them because now they have a fairly limited squad, and it's not an easy thing for  Arteta to be able to stabilize arsenal game if only relying on the existing squad as it is today, Seeing the condition of arsenal which lost many players in the transfer market and they did not bring in any players this season, I think arsenal will again fail to return to the champions league next season.

Such is the cycle of Arsenal's journey that always fails to reach the target because their goals are often sent when the transfer window opens. Until now Arsenal will continue to try to print players who can fill the void. Regarding the feud with Arteta, Auba deserves to be sent to Barcelona. Arteta can more freely manage his players. Good decision, but with the consequence Arsenal are in a floating zone.

Yes, I did not delve into this case deeply, but judging by how everything went far, it was not ordinary (already annoying) accusations like METOO, but a real crime with existing evidence. But I would not exaggerate the impact of this event on the team - all United players are already used to constant scandals and hype around them, I do not think that this case will be something special.
This scandal will only concern Greenwood personally, nothing more, and will have a major impact on Man United's performance. The reason, this scandal has often happened to football players. This will only concern his career and will automatically be expelled from the club. I also don't think that this kind of thing will affect other players. There are a lot of scandals out there. I still, remember John Terry Sleeping with Wayne Bridge wife, but the difference is that his career is still not affected.

To be cynical, I (as a United fan) hope that this event will lead to positive changes. I'm sick of United sleeping. It slept while Solskjaer was coach and continues to sleep after the change of coach. Maybe what happened will somehow shake up the team or lead to a change in playing patterns that will finally reveal the potential of the great players that make up United. I don't know, I just don't know what to hope for anymore  Grin Cry

Newcastle has spent a lot of money, and this money has been spent only to get out of the relegation zone. And I believe they can do it. Because now they are in 18th place in the table. If they are able to win two matches, they will be able to rise two steps above the points table. Norwich City are at risk at the moment. Maybe next season we won't see Norwich in the Premier League.
it is a must. when indeed we want something good then indeed we must be total in doing something and now maybe this proverb will be very suitable for newcastle.
the top brass and investors there inevitably have to reshuffle their team in order to compete in the EPL. It would be very unfunny if a team with abundant wealth was thrown into the 2nd division of the standings.
now they must be able to be in the highest caste and that is a fixed price for newcastle

Yeah, Newcastle definitely have spent a great deal of money so far in the winter transfer window. But they haven't made any big transfer so far. They just splurged on average players. This is not good for them. I don't mean the money part of course as they have no problem with money now. I think that they could still be in trouble with the new lineup too. But the main goal for them should be clinging to the Premier League at the end of the season. And I hope they can make it.

The investigations are continuing, and this certainly wouldn't do anything to help team spirit at Man United, and that was one of their big problems... it is getting quite difficult to see them finishing this campaign in a Champions League spot. As for Greenwood personally, it seems this is effectively the end of his career... unless he is actually innocent and is cleared of all charges, but given the way things have gone so far, that seems quite an unlikely outcome.

Yes, I did not delve into this case deeply, but judging by how everything went far, it was not ordinary (already annoying) accusations like METOO, but a real crime with existing evidence. Manchester United will not continue with Greenwood.  As a result of such scandals, football players are usually dismissed from that club.  Now what I'm wondering is, which club will be the other club?  He is a very young football player with potential.  He shamed himself.  I felt sorry for him.  His career may even be over.

I almost feel you, trying to fine some comfort from a repositioning on the events over the team. With Rashford and his girlfriend in good terms and the Greenwood yet to be resolved girlfriend issues (and that's me trying to put it nicely). As much as it's had fir a player at this point, it's also had for a fan but truths be told, Manchester United is far from good and I dont really think these events would even help them to be better. The team and players is good but, they lack a rhythm that could aid them to bagging 3 points. A lot of fixing needs to be done on this team.

However, the facts on the ground are that it is difficult for Newcastle to be in which position in the Premier League. The mistake of letting go of 1 years and letting go of being in the relegation zone would be the most appropriate consequence for now. In my opinion, if you look at Newcastle, they just need an advisor where the suggestions for the transfer window can be used to the fullest.

It's still an ongoing case and nothing has came out public for clear. Greenwood is a great player but the recent allegations are a tough one and understand United suspending him but I think it's just temporary and depends on what comes out. He will back on pitch if the allegations are false.

Regarding being sorry for Greenword- actually I would say don't be sorry for him. Least we want right now is people like him (if he actually did it).

In fact, the same case is now in the rival camp, namely in the city where their defender, Benjamin Mendy, is currently undergoing a verdict due to a case similar to Greenwood.
And as you said, even though the club will definitely have an impact, it's a small thing because this is a player's personal business, not the club's business.

This is a trend right now unfortunately, and whether it is a true or a false accusation, it still will impact the player personality, his teammates in a way or another and even the club indirectly.
Same goes with City for sure but with a lower impact since their position is a bit comfy comparing to ManU fluctuating performance and results..

Honestly Tottenham or Manchester United have a higher chance of making the top four spot than Arsenal and Westham United. They have a bigger squad to adjust to the pressure that would come with the second phase of the league. Tottenham let go of some of their players who were not having much game time, like Tanguy Ndombele, Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Bryan Gil. They knew that these players will leave and they needed some replacement to booster their squad amidst their challenge for the top four, they got some players like Bentacur and Kulesevski. Arsenal just lost out about 6-7 of their players and refused to sign. How will they be able to cope when this fatigue and injury set in on the first team players. I don't see them even making the top 6.
I do not think that Tottenham has that chance. I believe that they let their players go because they didn't believe that they could keep them and they just wanted to rebuild while they had the chance. I agree with you on the United part, I believe that United has a chance to crack top four if they keep it up and Arsenal has that chance as well.

We could just agree that City, Liverpool and Chelsea are the top three of the league by the end of the season so there is only one position left for the top four. If I disagree on Tottenham and if you disagree on Arsenal then the only team left for us to agree that will take the top four (possibly) would be United.

I don’t care if Greenwood is the best player in the world, the allegations against him are heavy. I watched the video of the victim crying as she gave her side of the story, her injuries were visible gosh it’s not a pretty sight. This is the end of the road for Greenwood, Manchester United has done right by me to suspend him it shows the club has zero tolerance for domestic violence and women abuse. The law should take its course and justice be serve without prejudice

I prefer that Greenwood is a psychopath who is very inexcusable. The victim was so depressed and the pressure was quite severe. I don't think Greenwood deserves to be on a pitch with a great player title. It doesn't really reflect a quality person. It's better for Manchester United to just get rid of the disease that is in their club. Maybe a Greenwood was better off not having a place at any club. This kind of action is totally unacceptable.

Arsenal have only the Premier League left now. They have been eliminated from the EFL Cup and FA Cup so far. And their goal must be qualifying for the Champions League. They are strong enough to make it actually but they have really tough rivals aiming the same thing now. Hence, they will have to focus on playing more effective than them to achieve their goal. Arsenal are having a much greater season than the previous one now. They should be able to benefit from it somehow or it would really be a big disappointment for them after bringing the things here by fighting hard.
I would say Arsenal are not doing anything spectacular this season. I mean, they play and play, they don't make any noise in public and they don't produce any furore. Maybe that's good for them and in that way without the psychological pressure from the crowd they will achieve a result - getting into the Champions League, but I also can't say that this season they are playing weak, very well.
Arsenal's focus should mainly be on how to make It to the Champions League next season. Although, they are presently at the 6th place, which means they have to secure more points in order to slide up on the standings. However, I was expecting Arsenal to probably sign a good striker as an replacement after loaning out Aubameyang to Barcelona at least to strengthen their squad. But unfortunately the transfer window closed without them signing in any new striker. And this might affect their performance.

Hmmm, well, I don't think the absence of this player will affect their game much. My personal opinion and observation is that he hasn't been playing very prominently or very well lately, so I don't think he's benefiting the team, and so he won't suffer a loss after his departure either. The other question is whether he will be of any benefit to Barcelona? But that's a different conversation. I think if Arsenal get their act together now and start playing even better, they have every chance of climbing higher in the table

Locelso, Tanguy Ndombele and deli Alli left Tottenham because the coach does not believe in them, and I don't blame them because Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli offers Tottenham nothing they just occupy space and they were replaced by player's who are serious, Bryan Gill case is different because he was sent on loan with no option to buy because Tottenham have high hope on him.is a good transfer for Tottenham but they miss out on a right back which is very important for the way they like to play.

It's hard to keep up with all the news but Premier League released the updated squad from each team after the closing of January 2022 transfer window https://www.premierleague.com/news/2470630 and also the complete list of transfers https://www.premierleague.com/news/2427036

How did your favorite team do? I'm surprised Chelsea and Man United didn't add one.

My fav team - Liverpool only had one signing in the January transfer window for 2022 bringing in only Luis Diaz from Porto. It feels like a great deal to me so I do hope that he delivers just like Diego Jota. As for Chelsea and Man Utd, they don't really have any need to make additions because they have a solid squad - rich in all department. Both teams added in last transfer window though.

Tottenham Hotspur really mess up there opportunity to get Luis Diaz from Porto, the are always like this always delaying to make transfer until the last day, they have lost quality players to rivals this way. They lost Suarez's to Liverpool this way when he was playing at Ajax, the also lost Williams to Chelsea when he was playing at shaktor finest.lost Diaz to Manchester City, lost martial to Manchester United so many players.
