City are once again eliminated from the Carabao cup, Pep already said before the game that he would not be prioritizing the Carabao cup this season, because they have such a small squad and many injuries. I watched the match and City didn't play too badly, but they struggled to create chances. Now they can fully concentrate on defending the three titles they won last season, this weekend they face Wolves and in mid-week they travel to play RB Leipzig in the CL, and their next game after that is Arsenal, if City can win all three matches, they'll quickly forget about this defeat from Newcastle tonight.

Do you think with the performance so far that Manchester United has put up, will the fans at this moment not wish that this news were true?
If were anything close to being true, I don't think I have heard any kind of rule in football that allows this.

Everybody is free to choose their favourite club and I don't think there's anything to get worked up about in this regard regardless of whether it's a form of disappointment or whatever it is for the fans I think when changing the club they love then they should know that it's too simplistic to say poor form is the problem and it doesn't mean they support City wholeheartedly because it's a form of disappointment and an outlet.
I personally don't have any problem with this because liking a club doesn't mean you can't look away but when the reason given is just disappointment in the previous club it's ridiculous and they are not fans.

Chelsea's winning against Brighton in the EFL Cup was really unexpected for me considering their recent performance. The goal was even scored by Jackson who has been in terrible shape for a long time. Can this be some motivation for Chelsea to start playing better from now on? I really doubt that honestly.

We need to see them winning some games in the Premier League as well. Otherwise this season is even likely to be worse than the previous one as it seems. Chelsea don't deserve to be in this place now. They have spent a lot of money so they should get efficiency from these players at a high level.

I personally don't have any problem with this because liking a club doesn't mean you can't look away but when the reason given is just disappointment in the previous club it's ridiculous and they are not fans.

Changing teams because they aren’t in form at a time isn’t very becoming for a fan. There are roles to every structure and the fans role is one vital aspect to football. They provide the needed support to push there team to greatness. Of course they aren’t on the pitch but, the booing and encouragement does enough to make players do the most for the team.
It could be disappointing when the fans aren’t seeing the performance they long for but, quoting your team for another just because they are having better days doesn’t mean that, the new team isn’t going to be rocked by some bad performances too. Forms drop and it’s normal.

I think Manchester United will have a better season than Chelsea because Manchester United have a more stable team than Chelsea who are obviously lacking experience in their squad and as a result struggling to win games even against the smallest of teams in the league this season. Manchester United have a high probability of improving as we approach mid season.

I also hope so, but I wouldn't put that assurance on Chelsea that they are back to winning. I am still looking at them from last season performance that they will manage to win one match and lost four and so on in a repeated pattern. Maybe that is what is replaying now but I wouldn't conclude yet till I watch their next game in EPL. It was an impressive performance and a victorious one tonight from the blues and they need to continue in this performance if they don't want their fans to run to other clubs because their result in matches is discouraging.

I didn't get to watch the match so I  decided to check scores after FT but to my great surprise Chelsea won by 1 nil and I was like how the fuck did they do that, a team that couldn't win Aston villa now winning Brighton... Wow.
So many of us gave it to Brighton due to the poor performance of Chelsea stats this season with their first six games in the EPL. And they need this wins in the EPL to keep high their moral which they are finding difficulty in doing that.

I read compakins on social about the ref poor officiation standard in the game, can someone Walk me in on that? Am just curious why and what happened as I didn't had chance to  watch the match.

Chelsea is very ambitious in looking for opportunities to win trophies in the FA or League Cup competitions, maybe Pochettino will try to raise the enthusiasm of his troops to rise in other paths besides the EPL. But Brighton also won't let Chelsea party, they will fight as hard as possible to win tickets to the next round. Morally, Brighton is superior.

Was not a bad game for they were lucky to win, they could’ve won 2 goals up but the lines man decision was poor canceling Niko Jackson second goal. Chelsea still need to improve but they were better than how they played against Aston Villa, Let’s how they perform in their next game to decide if they are improving or not because premier league is the most crucial league where they need to win so they don’t get relegated. I was surprised and i never expected chelsea to beat Brighton but they managed to to do so and progress to the next round of the competition it’s really good for them, they can improve on the momentum.

Well the fact still remains that Manchester United is indeed suffering from players and for that their substitution is weak and highly dependable on the pitch players which make the players to become more weak while still on the pitch and being unable to have a fitting replacement for them if any injury comes up,  this have made the club to suffer a lot of setbacks.

Although the club should have made used of the last transfer windows to get on board some energetic young players who can deliver more goals for the club and be able to sustain their future competition.

They should have utilized the transfer window and sign more players but they slept on it they thought they have enough squad depth but it’s not always so untill injuries come in and now they are paying for it. Maybe they will correct their mistakes in January transfer window and bring some players incase of injuries.

But I think that Newcastle will forget this victory not so soon for a number of reasons On the one hand, Pep Guardiola has really more important goals to win titles this season. On the other hand, this victory over Manchester City is very important for Newcastle United and Eddie Howe to raise their spirits and gain confidence in their abilities, because Newcastle did not start the championship too well with 3 wins and 3 defeats to their credit, unlike their opponent, who had shown an absolute result before. Also, let's not forget the terrifying statistics for Newcastle in matches with City before when in the last 10 matches the team lost 8 times without winning once. Therefore, this victory can help Newcastle get on the path of permanent victories.

I felt almost same way like you as I was surprised as to how Chelsea won Brighton I'm today's game or maybe it's because it's not premier league where Brighton would maybe want to contend harder than usual so as to get points to go up the table, but then to our surprise Chelsea won without conceding a goal I that is also Worthy of acknowledgement.

I expected Brighton to win this game or in a worse case get a draw but then Chelsea proved me wrong that they could do better,. although it was such that I would call a narrow escape because any further move by Brighton would have denied Chelsea of a win and probably given Brighton a draw, it was a fair game as both sides did their best but the better side won

I'm optimistic this may in a way help Chelsea restore hope that they could still get a win in the premier league and still make it to top five at least but they can be sure not to win the league title this season as their performance is not suiting enough to give them such championship,. maybe next season of they improve and play better they could go close to been the champions.

I'm happy about my favorite team, it was an easy game for us but at the end, we came smiling and qualifying for the next round. Mauricio Pochettino did few changes in the starting line-up in the game, and it worked quite well for him, earning him three points to push to another round of the Carabao Cup. Chelsea won Brigton ag Stamford Bridge, it was surprised winning for the blues, because no ones expects that to happened, definitely not against Brighton that are in good form. M. Jackson deserved accolades because he's performance was outstanding, making good runs in the frontlines and serving as a big threat towards his opponents.

Both teams are in good shape at the moment, and this season Liverpool has become better than ever, and they have a winning record until week 6, yes they can record 5 wins from 6 matches. Tottenham are also the same, only the difference is they drew in their last match against Arsenal. In my opinion, the chance for the two clubs to end the match with a draw score is very large, and maybe it will really happen.
Another advantage of Tottenham is that they will play with home status, and they certainly don't want to be humiliated in front of their own supporters.

Tottenham and Liverpool  will play soon. These team's players are in form. But Liverpool has historical advantage.Tottenham against Arsenal, played very well and took important points. Both teams played well in last six matches, and  displayed good impression on fans. 15 -15 was a good goals. Liverpool may be favouritr for bookmakers. Competition is strong between these two teams. Tottenham is ready for the season.

The current odds are 2.96 for Tottenham and 2.16 for Liverpool and I think it is a normal thing because looking at the statistics of their h2h surely Liverpool is the favourite but on the other hand in this case also Tottenham cannot be underestimated even though they played a draw in the previous match.
I actually don't really like bets like this but for now it's not wrong to make some bets by looking at the statistics and being in Liverpool I think it's not too bad in the big match later.

I thought they wouldn't care because it was a cup match, but Chelsea won with great enthusiasm. For this they need to be congratulated. Chelsea now wanted to prove himself somehow. I'm sure this win will fuel them. I think they will perform better in the league match at the weekend.

The league has only been running for 6 matches, then there are rumors that Pochettino will be fired, is this not a loss for Chelsea because Pochettino's contract is quite long?

It's a bit strange with the news circulating on social media because many of them are corroborating the news that fans are asking Chelsea to fire Pochettino. I don't think the news is very true because Chelsea would really be in chaos if they fired Pochettino. Everything requires a process and all fans must give Pochettino lots of time to build Chelsea stronger this season. Chelsea need time to be able to compete at the top of the standings because they experienced quite bad luck last season so they need time to improve their performance.

Whether in this EFL match Chelsea was lucky enough because statistically the brand lost only to be able to hold until the final whistle.
This should be the motivation of Chelsea players because they can win even in the EFL competition, I am also actually not sure when the League starts in a few days Chelsea will win their performance in the League is quite bad and always blame Pochettino for not giving good results.

In the EFL competition, I'm sure Chelsea will want to try to perform as well as possible in order to increase their confidence when playing in the EPL. Indeed, in today's match, Chelsea can progress to the next round after they managed to beat Brighton at the Stamford Bridge stadium. However, in today's match Chelsea played more defensively because statistically they lost possession of the ball and also did not make many attacks in this match so they only took 9 shots in this match. But victory is the result they are aiming for and they succeeded in doing that in today's match.

I wouldn't take Chelsea's win against Brighton as a serious one because this is not a premier league match but rather an EFL cup that clubs don't take that seriously to play with their first eleven teams.

I think Chelsea won the match against Brighton because Brighton had their attention focused more on their premier league match against Aston Villa than they had it in their EFL match against Chelsea. Still on, Chelsea have tried to prove a point that they can at least win a match despite their poor performance. I think the Manchester United if ask aside the unforeseen circumstances of numerous injuries that has affected them due to lack of a senior doctor in the club they have a decent squad, in almost every position Manchester United have Atleast two to three players, except the striking role which is also been occupied by Martial and Hojlund. If they are all fit and available then Ten Hag doesn’t seems to have any excuses. He also has youngsters like gore, Mejbri, Pellisteri and Gernacho to call up to when this crisis persist. Right now united cannot sign more players until they sell because of financial fair play. This is why even Amrabat deal was a loan move for now.

A win is a win but i would say Brighton actually fielded in a weaker starting line than their usual line up, Chelsea also changed there to formation with the likes of Enzo missing out. But definitely a great win for Chelsea, if it was before this competition looks more like just a cup match to Chelsea but with the state of the team i would say they needed this win and if possible should build on it more and plan on scooping this competition home. Nothing gives a struggling team a relief than having a cup win against a team which looks better than yours. Hopefully they would replicate this form to the league but they will be without their striker and Gutso the right back due to suspension. This suspension will give the likes of Broja and Cucurella the chance to impress the manager. Cucurella was used today at the right back position and it seems he would get a nod there at the weekend as no senior right back is available.

This is one of the hundreds of jokes we see online. Manchester United and Manchester City are brothers and yet they are rivals so such an idea is merely a joke. Even if Manchester United performance this season is very bad that the fans can no longer stay and see it happen, Manchester United fans will rather support other clubs that are not very close to them as Manchester City.
But then after the yesterday Carabao cup Manchester United played against Crystal palace that they won convincingly, it shows that Manchester United might be back in track.

The current table has been showing that if manchester united has been having better results compared to chelsea in the EPL. Pochettino does too much experiment to his club. He shall stop. I would like to see chelsea to go back to the top position again.
Manchester united has been also finding the best formation without rashford by putting amrabat to play together with casemiro. These players are very important in helping MU to secure the mid.
Meguire can play in serious mode if there was ambarat as his team mate. The result against crystal palace has been also showing how good the current strategy is. Manchester united just need to give ambarat more time to play.
He is very useful and united needs that kind of player. United will become even more solid once amrabat will able to bound even better to the club. Im feeling so positive with MU after amrabat in.
