I'm unsure if this discussion thread is an appropriate venue to delve into the Carabao Cup. Yesterday witnessed some truly surprising football outcomes in the matches involving Chelsea vs. Brighton and Manchester City vs. Newcastle. Aside from acknowledging Newcastle's presence in the Champions League, it seems plausible that other teams intentionally opted for early exits to alleviate the burden of participating in numerous competitions throughout the season.

Maybe you are right. Guardiola has no interest in winning the EFL Cup. That's why he didn't give importance to this match. If the match was important to Guardiola, he would have included Haaland in his squad. But he rested Haaland in this match. Although I thought we would see Haaland in the squad after the second half.

I think this is the right decision from Guardiola and I expected it, because you cannot win all tournaments with one squad. Manchester united can use the same strategy against palance. There shall not be a lot of changes in the composition of club for upcoming match. Crystal Palace will evaluate United's strategy, but better players might be the difference between the two clubs. Yesterday was a joyful day for Chelsea fans because it is not always easy for your team to go more than a month without a win, even with players that are very expensive and have great individual qualities, and a new coach who has been struggling to make sure the team performs well and gives the fans their best performance. They scored only one goal by Nickolas Jackson in the 50th minute of the game, which is an impressive goal for him and the team because Brighton dominated the game and created more chances than Chelsea in the match, but they were unlucky as they couldn't score a goal in the match.

This win should be an encouragement for Chelsea players because they have a long way to go and their next-month Premier League fixtures are tougher than the matches they have played so far in the league, but they still have a chance to move up in their next two matches since they are playing against Fulham and Burnley. Jackson scored a goal against Brighton so maybe this would make some boost in his self-confidence level to perform much better against Fulham too. I think Chelsea will win by one goal gap.
