Have you forgotten that Manchester United actually does not lack good players, Rashford, Bruno, Garnacho, Casemiro, Martinez, Varane, Eriksen, Shaw, Lindelof, Amabat, Antony and even Maguire. In my opinion, all of them are still in the category of quality players with one condition: IN THE HANDS OF THE RIGHT COACH AND KNOWING HOW TO UTILIZE PLAYERS SKILLS. What about Erik Ten Hag, who has clearly forced himself with responsibilities that he is not actually able to bear. As a result, all the abilities of the Manchester United players above became invisible on the field. In the end, the audience and United fans saw the final result, it didn't matter what process Ten Hag went through because that was his job.  

I agree that Manchester United has all the quality players they want and maybe if it was in the right hands the results would be better. But unfortunately, since the era of Sir Alex Ferguson ended, Manchester United management was not ready to bring in this coach and instead they just tried out a coach who was clearly very inadequate in carrying all the existing burdens and this is what happened. This team seems to be trying to look for new challenges by bringing in a coach whose playing mission and vision are not yet clear and that will only damage the existing legacy. I think it won't be long before they change coaches again if Erik ten Hag fails to bring Manchester United to a top 4 finish this season.

I think Sir Alex Ferguson strong reason for letting Man United go was not just about age, but he realized that this club could no longer be saved and would never find its golden age. The results prove that Man United is now increasingly losing direction. If only Glazer sold the club to these Arabs, perhaps Man United could still be saved and receive full support, not only in terms of money, coaches, players and even stadium repairs would be very easy.
