With the new Chelsea board and management, I feel like I can not bet on Chelsea to win and lose at the same time. Chelsea is likely to struggle in many games this season, and I can’t afford to bet on them losing. Every team seems to be chasing a better version of Guardiola, but Chelsea doesn’t measure up mentally or tactically. I didn’t see any new patterns of play today in fact, the style they played today was disappointing and made little sense.

Chelsea still have a lot to improve this season if they want to compete better in the Premier League, because if they don't improve their way of playing in every game, it will be very worrying that they will have to fight not to be relegated this season. Because all other teams in the Premier League at this time (excluding the promoted teams) have made more significant improvements so that they can compete in every game even if they have to lose, but not ridiculously.

Don you think it is too early to judge Chelsea's performance from the first game they played for the season, and we all know it was a game played against the strongest team in the premier league. If Chelsea had played their game with any random premier league and they failed to win  then we can quickly express the dissapointment. I know Chelsea have not been performing well for a longtime and fans was expecting to see something different in the first game. There is still enough time to see what Chelsea will be upto in their games this season,  I don't want to use this first game to make conclusions.

City are also not in their best form now, Guardiola said that some players returned late from holidays and this affects their game, like Foden, who joined the team just a few days ago, look how difficult it was for him to play, I did not see his usual acceleration. I say this because City are also far from their best form. And the worst part is, when we see the fact that if Enzo can't even play in any positions. He can't play as number 10, 8 or 6. We wasted 90 million to get a horrible talent like him. Whenever Enzo F played for us, we lost.

Gallagher is 10 times better than Enzo F. I prefer to keep Gallagher, but we got scammed by buying Enzo for a silly price.

Chelsea was lacking the best number 10 against Manchester City, despite spending a lot of money on the transfer. No team has signed as many players as Chelsea and seen the result in their first game of the season. Look at the way Kovačić handled the ball and controlled the midfield for Manchester City. The last time Manchester City won an away game without Rodri was in 2022, and now they won without him against Chelsea. The midfield failed to provide passes to its attackers, even though they want to sell Gallagher, Enzo Maresca should have started the game with Palmer as the midfield.

However, I am not sure how poorly Sterling and Madueke performed in the pre-season games that Maresca chose not to bring them against Manchester City, but I feel that if they were in that match, Chelsea would attack more than they did yesterday because no position was good in Chelsea's performance.

Chelsea are the only team I think have over 40 players and they're still in a confused state with Enzo Maresca talking about much players and they need to discard some players, like why are they making things difficult for themselves? By the way all these happened as a result of Sterling not being listed in yesterday's game which I think wasn't proper, he wasn't on the bench and even on the first eleven of the squad it made him (Sterling) and his representative questioned the manager's decision, why he wasn't listed and Enzo Maresca is even defending his actions, like why would you drop someone like Sterling who gives everything when it comes to the club and that game he was suppose to be involved but he wasn't, which to me I think Chelsea want to sell this guy off the club since they started avoiding him to be included in a big game as yesterdays' and they shouldn't forget that Sterling is bigger than the likes of Mudryk, Madueke, Chukwuemeka and the rest who was not in that game, he should be given that respect.
Having so much players on the team and now the manager is confused on who to start or drop, even his decision making while making a sub is not even sharp to change the outcome of the game, well this is just the beginning of so much explanation, Enzo Maresca need to know his 1st eleven before the next 5 games.

I don't know why people especially Chelsea fans think that they can win City or draw the match like last season when it is not the same coach of last season or have they forgotten about that. This is a different coach entirely with some new players making it difficult for the players to understand themselves easily and also adopting the new pattern of Maresca. In my wild dream, I will not see Chelsea winning City in yesterday's match.

It is unusual to see the odds 2.06 for City to win, I understand that it is not yet clear what to expect from Chelsea, how Maresca will be able to influence the team, but I think that the odds for City are a little overstated. So much replies have been focused on Chelsea vs Manchester city fixture over the weekend and it's not one I will see as been unexpected because much was expected of Chelsea form their fans and even others who aren't fans but wanted to see what their performance will look like after all the transfer they have been engaged in.

Looking at other games in the premier league over the weekend, I got some entertainment from the Liverpool game as it appears with their new coach they are already appearing promising starting off so well, Manchester United got my attention too but in that game fullham impressed me the most, so far the season looks like it's got a lot to look forward to both around the big teams and the small teams in the premier League.

But this is only the start of the season so we can't draw any conclusions from this early match.

There is only one match left, namely the Leicester vs Tottenham match and I find it difficult to predict which team will be my favorite in that match.

Overall judging Chelsea first match, I think they deserved to lose, but that doesn't mean Chelsea won't develop in the future. So lose they still lose because Man City is superior and Man City's defense is very solid.  now Chelsea must be motivated to work harder, it doesn't matter if they lose the first match, there are still the next matches. The Premier League is a long journey, there will always be ups and downs in performance. If I'm not mistaken, Todd Boehly left the stadium before the match ended, indicating his dissatisfaction because he had spent a lot of money to collect players. But I think it was also his own fault because he was careless in buying players but the quality of the players he bought was not at all as expected.

Well you actually can't blame anybody because this Chelsea team is one that have disappointed and put so many persons under pressure before so that's why many fans are certain that this defeat will lead to many more ahead although the fact that the first game isn't actually everything still counts because this can even a eye opener to help them boost up and make them more active in terms of winning more games and looking at the major errors in which they committed.

For me it seems like Chelsea are yet to begin the new season, with this kind of poor performance against Manchester city i wonder how they are gonna cope this season, the new coach need to put his team in order as soon as possible else he might risk loosing his job before mid season, and i think the solution to Chelsea's problems right now is for the coach to engage a rotation policy until he is able to build a formidable team that could stand up to any challenge as the season goes by but the fans and management have got to a bit patient with the players and the coach because there's alot to be done before they get running.

It is going to be another serious and hot game today as the first Monday night game between Leicester City and Tottenham which is going to be more like a welcome back match for Leicester City as they make their returns from championship, while the both teams will be doing their best from my analysis there is going to be a both teams to score and over 2.5 goals and a possibility of a draw match in this game , what do you think?

Indeed Manchester City defeated Chelsea by 2 goes to 0 to defend their title, thou Chelsea performance wasn't that bad.

After returning to the Premier League, Leicester City started the season with difficulty because they had to face Spurs. Moreover, the strength that will be played tonight is reduced, attackers J. Vardy and P. Daka are injured. The situation is not good for Leicester.
It's different with Tottenham, they are ready to face this match, and can secure 3 points at the start of the season. Spurs are favored, my prediction is 2-1 for Tottenham Hotspur's victory.

Chelsea's main weakness is their management. The performance of Chelsea team is poor now because the management is not experienced enough. It is not possible for any coach to transform a team into a strong team very quickly. It is a long term and time consuming affair. But Chelsea management wants to improve very quickly. They are not interested in giving any coach more time. So if a coach doesn't perform as expected, they fire the coach and hire a new coach. If the new coach does not get the expected results, he is fired again. We have been seeing this for the last 3 years.
Pochettino should not be sacked by Chelsea management. Because he was able to make this group strong enough. If Pochettino had been the coach of Chelsea this season, we might have seen a stable performance from Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca ability cannot be judged in just one match, everyone must know how strong Manchester City is, they are the strongest club in the EPL at the moment and very few other clubs can beat them. In my opinion, Chelsea's defeat was not too disappointing because it was very difficult to beat the team coached by Pep Guardiola.
I was a little disappointed with the tactics used by Enzo in this match, he should have focused more on defense and played a little more closed, maybe the opportunity to get a point was very open.
