But indeed for now that is the only way for them to keep trying to compete in the next season, especially if we look at some of the rumors that exist now where some players like Bernardo Silva, Grealish, Stone and KDB are likely to leave at the end of the season (or are on the sale list from Manchester City) then it is certain that the only way for them to keep their performance balanced is to find some other players who have the same role so that there are not many gaps in performance later.

Man United announce 200 more redundancies in latest cuts

Manchester United have announced plans to make up to another 200 staff redundant as part of their continuing cost-cutting measures.

"Unfortunately, this means announcing further potential redundancies and we deeply regret the impact on those affected colleagues. However, these hard choices are necessary to put the club back on a stable financial footing."

Sources told ESPN that staff will find out if they are affected by the cuts between April and June.

I think Manchester city should get new players this summer, the thing is that, for a coach like Pep Guardiola, he already has the list of players for this summer that he will sign, and he will certainly go for them. One cannot really say about that, but not making any changes in the squad still means they are yet to solve the problem they’re facing now that we can also see to be the reason for their poor form this season. They are a team with a lot of prestige and bringing their records down this season is really not nice for them and won’t make a good season ending for them. Well, you are right for sure, but you are also making this look or sound like it's now they Manchester city started losing match, aleast I know that since this season began, they've not been in their best form just as they were during last two seasons which saw them going home with the premier league title.

They indeed need a total overhaul of players but this can only be done in the summer in preparation for another season, because even if they can do the overhauling now, it's already too late for them as they may likely not make it to the top anymore.

Big teams do sometimes faces some tough season(s), sometimes when a key player is gone or injured and Manchester City is not an exception because they have Pep Guardiola as their coach.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich has been there, what matters is how they bounced back and a season is not enough to lose a significant reputation, don't forget Liverpool was facing similar issues two seasons ago but they have bounced back really well and will likely get the league title this season and if not that they messed up as last season ending draws closer they could have won it then.

The result of this match makes me believe that it will be difficult for Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season again. We all know how important this match is to them, and they lose to West Ham, which is not really good for them at this point in the competition. I feel sorry for Arsenal fans at this point knowing how many time Arsenal have had chances to catch up with Liverpool but throw away every opportunity at every given chance to catch up. The players are not charged up for a challenge, no winning mentality which is something the team have lacked for two seasons plus throwing away every chance and opportunity to win the league. Arsenal are not just good enough to be league winners.

You are right, failure of a team to maintain its dominance for a competition is much higher than success in maintaining it. Manchester City was just waiting for time to fail to defend its title after winning 4 consecutive titles in the Premier League, so finally the long-awaited season has arrived. I think fighting to win the title is much easier than maintaining dominance for longer in the Premier League, even Pep Guardiola has admitted that.

One unique thing when Manchester City failed was that Liverpool took over and won the title. I think a lot of peeps here don't like the transformation of Manchester City, how they came and won 4 Premier League and turn the league to farmers league, how their stars were making everyone go drooling and losing their own players and all of sudden change in their possession is why many people are also happy, seen a cross rotation of the league going to another club is what many people are anticipating, Manchester City has made the league looks so undervalued.

Nevertheless, what I have seen from Manchester City is incredible, even at their worst situation, the team hasn't left top 4, if they continue to this way they ar definitely going back to the Champions League and remain here till another season. Yeah, actually chelsea was doing absolutely well from the beginning of the season, I was actually thinking that they may likely win the premier league this season due to their performance back then. However, I could imagine how disappointed thier fans will feel after losing against Aston villa. Because every of their fans was expecting them to win the match, reason been that they lost 2 straight matches before meeting with aston villa so everyone was hoping that they are going to gain victory over Aston villa.

but it was quite unfortunate that they couldn't utilize the opportunity, and they were so lazy enough to watch Aston villa making an equalizer in the second half of the game and still end up gaining the victory over chelsea, what a great comeback for Aston villa.
