I am happy to see this thread, please what happened to UEFA Nations League? I was following the league but at a time they stopped and I too stopped asking about it. I can remember there was no finals played. What really happened, was it dismissed or it was suspended because of world Cup and start of the season?

Croatia - Denmark is the most important match of the group as it can play a decider role for the lead.

Denmark are still in the lead by a gap of two points. Croatia have been quite successful in the recent times. Even though both of them were away matches they still defeated Denmark and France both by 1-0. We watched different halves in the Denmark - Croatia match so both of them played solid. Despite France's dominance Croatia still won that. They are a really dangerous team now and they can win this one also. But I still don't trust them as much as to bet on their win. Rather than that I'd prefer both teams to score at 1.89. Because this is a crucial match for both of them.

I am looking out for this France vs Austria game. France are at the bottom of their group at the moment and have been shockingly poor in the tournament. Austria are currently in third place in Group 1 of the UEFA Nations League and have been inconsistent so far this year. But as of recent, Austria have made progress under Ralf Rangnick and are perfectly capable of pulling off an upset but France are the better team on paper, so I don’t think it’d be difficult for them win this game.

I'm mostly interested to see who will start the following games as defensive partnership for Croatia. We have some other questionmarks - but that's the most important one I feel we need to solve before the WC.

Gvardiol should be a certainty, whereas we have many options to choose from for his partner. Šutalo was really good for Dinamo and Croatia when he played, Erlić was good for the national team as well. Vida should be out of the contention but Lovren is a ticking time bomb.
It is a question whether he's good enough to be a starter anymore - and if he won't be, he'll surely bring the atmosphere down.

Honestly , with WC being so close , I won't have high expectations to see great games in Nations League as players are now careful to not get injured before the world cup. I know that for some national teams , earning points is vital in the next games , and my national team Romania is in the same boat but I don't have any hopes for them to win at least 1 point from next game but teams with second chance should push hard if they are not involved in World cup.

but he left the team's quarters today. this is already the third important player who will be out for the games against hungary and england.

I agree that Croatia is an unpredictable team, which can lose at home to Austria, and then win away to France and Denmark.
Croatia had a big drop in performance and results after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, when they were second in the world.
However, in the last year, the Croatian team is rising again and achieving very good results, especially in the UEFA Nations League.
In the first match against Denmark, Croatia was lucky in the first half, but in the second half they were better and deservedly won.
Once again, a very uncertain and exciting match awaits us, in which Croatia, as the host, has a small advantage.

even when these players were doing well, france had bad results in the UEFA Nations League games which leads me to conclude that france doesn't take this league seriously, so they are just playing to meet the schedule, they have other goals, for france, it is more beneficial to save players for local leagues where each player is playing and for the world than to play seriously in this league and then have some player injured. I bet on franca but I'm not confident that they can win this game, maybe they'll draw, anyway I decided to try my luck

it's very strange that the odds are so balanced in this game, anyway i believe ukraine can win the game, of course it may not be an easy game for them to deal with because the opponent needs to win to take first place so they will try hard to win the game and Ukraine also need to win to stay in first place, this will be a very interesting game to watch

It will be a tough match for the Ukraine national team because their rivals Scotland are a matched team for them. It is very difficult to predict the winner in such matches, but I see Ukraine as the side that is close to victory in this match, both because of my emotional approach and in terms of squad quality. I'm guessing they won't lose in this tough away game and they will win a draw at worst.

Quality players such as Artem Dovbyk, Roman Yaremchuk, Andriy Yarmolenko, Vitaliy Mykolenko and Malinovskyi are very important players for the Ukraine national team and they are in the squad in this match. Oleksandr Zinchenko will be the only player missing from their squad in this match.

It's weird though, I really can't pick a side here, both side have similar qualities of players in terms of the lineup that's been up, but the Scottish line up seemed to slightly because of the quite more familiar names of players doing a bit fairer this season, and Che Adams is leading the line.

Due to the significance of the match, I'd say this is likely going to end as a goalless draw, or at the most the Scottish taking a marginal win.

All countries (or at least most countries) will not approach these matches as matches for a tournament. They will use it to see which players fit best in certain systems. So it's actually extra practice matches to see which players should go to the World Cup at the moment. The best players do play, of course, but these matches involve a lot of experimentation and that naturally devalues the value of the tournament considerably. Teams don't care if they finish first or second in the group. The nations league has little charisma, but it will mainly be commerce.

As most of the biggest teams don't care about this tournament much they are likely to even relegate from their leagues. For example France and England are in a big danger in League A. France are most likely to relegate too by the way because they have many injured players firstly. Secondly I don't expect them to jeopardize the important players. Maybe they would enter late in the second half but players like Mbappe shouldn't be a part of the starting eleven in the remaining matches.

This is an important point for all the teams that have big names of course. They must think of the World Cup and the league fixtures above all else. The schedule of teams getting tighter in time and they need to think of every factor to keep their players away from injuries as much as possible.

Scotland got a comfortable win with three goals. I was expecting their win, though I expected better resistance from Ukraine. Their second half performance was awful. Scotland played very dominant and got the win. McGinn opened the lock and after Lyndon Dykes came in he changed everything. Ukraine was unrecognizable today. Would the situation change if absent players like Zinchenko was on the field? I don't think so.

Plays better during the war! That's quite something to say even though I think I understand what you mean but, it somehow seems like the war has become a motivating factor for them to put in all they've got and not be traumatised by the crisis at home.

What you've said isn't far from the truth after watching there game today. They were more better in the first half, created some good chances but couldn't even make it to taking a shot at the post. The Scottish team seemed to have saved there best chances for the last, a goalless first half and now, the scoreline is 3 goals to zero in fa our of Scotland.
