Yes, it's not as big of a tournament as World Cup or Euro League but as it's an international trophy, the players care about it the same.
Maybe not as much as World Cup, but it still has the value of a big trophy to the players as everyone wants to win something for their national team.
Another thing is that, since the international coaches get such less time with their squad, this somewhat less important tournament gives them the opportunity to play the younger players are giving them a chance to shine on a bigger stage.

I see the situation a bit differently. Yes, they both lost but Italy was a big favorite while Turkey was big outsider. That means there is much bigger shock in Italy dressing room. There will be a lot of changes in the squad since the game does not mean anything and that is only reason I'll probably skip betting on Turkey. I am sure Italy has more quality on the bench. Both to score should still be a good bet and I'll play that or skip the game.

Tou described these games very well - in the shadow of Wolrd Cup qualifiers. I haven't paid attention to these games. Cyprus win was something expected. I haven't checked odds for it, but probably it wasn't bad. Cyprus even managed to score 2nd goal after getting red card and didn't conceded for whole half playing with 10 men.
Kazkhstan - Moldova game went to penalties where Kazakhstan won. I preferred Kazakhstan to stay in League C, I consider them a bit better team than Moldova.

Really nice match between Italy and Germany that ended 1-1. Germany was a better team and played with their very best. While Italy didnt play with their best players and went with not 2 but 6 new players that played for the first time ever for Italy. So Italy dosent care about this tournament
