Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Clearly we need to fix this, because UNO loves Macs. I'm adding you guys to the "Mac Testers" list.

It was a day last February, not too unlike today's trading action... UNO had been in a long slow decline, and I had been accumulating  it all the way down. This night, I was trading fairly aggresively and I bought most of my UNO between 0039 and 0042. Shortly after, I had second thoughts.   "OMG," I said. "What have I done? I'm into uno too deep."  I didn't sleep too well that night worrying about how I was going to get out from under my position. Eventually I decided to set it aside and not worry about it for six months, and finally I fell asleep.

When I woke up that morning, Wolong had sent UNO to .03. Eventually I got out between .04 and .035; I felt I was giving up a fortune because Wolong had promised to send it to .1 and beyond. But I decided not to be too greedy, and I was happy with what I got.  After that, I hung around the uno chat room, waiting for Wolong to leave so I could come back in, because there's something about uno that just makes me want to own it.

I took the the kids to Disneyworld 2 weeks later, on Wolong.  You never know what's going to happen with uno.

Yes, I was lucky, partly.  But I didn't just throw a dart at Coinmarketcap and hit UNO, either.   Getting in before others, taking the risk and holding on is how the big profits (and losses) are made. If my plan had been to chase the coin up, it wouldn't have been nearly as profitable. The next morning, I wouldn't have been able to buy in for less than .01. I'm glad I was holding.  No risk, no reward.

And yes, crypto is risky. Owning BTC or any crypto is a big risk. We don't trade uno because we think there is no risk, do we?

I'm all in with uno. I'll go up with UNO, or I grow old with it.  Either way, I'm having fun.

This time around I am in 2x as deep, and I have no worries. I am planning to add a ton to my uno holdings from now through next week.
I don't recommend that you do what I am doing... except for the part about having fun. I highly recommend that.

Thanks UNO!  Next time (if there is a next time), I'll send you a nicer postcard from Florence, Italy, taken with a better camera.

Your berating at the time aside, selling a small portion to you that night for some much needed scratch for a much-needed project is something I'm quite glad to have done after reading this!  I did quite well with the woolong insanity, too, so it looks like things worked out, well.  Hmm, basically buying it back, now....  Waddaya know?  Smiley

We're truly a community!  Let's do well with UNO!  If the majority of us are buy-and-hold, and the better traders among us do save the 'sell high' for the 'buy low', (providing a liquidity floor,) as we've been doing, UNO's performance will continue to do well in the long-term.  (Short-term, especially until BTC pipes up....Well, I can buy quite a lot of UNO at these prices and lower!!!)  Munch, munch, munch.

-

There is honor in being a liquidity trader!  The person who makes a trade is offering the counterparty THE MOST FAIREST PRICE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET!  If your trade goes through, then you are the fairest trader at that moment.  (Bots and their aggressive manipulation, well, that's not me, or many of the good people in UNO, at least.  Not sure what to say about that, except that if us savvy traders keep providing a floor, and buying-and-holding moral quantities, all the bad guys can basically 'only sell once,' as the saying goes.)

nice, nice  Smiley

below a few pictures i found around the net reflecting my view on Unobtanium

i want to suggest to use 'the (untouchable/surreal) Monolith' for marketing-purposes. Could possibly fit quite well if used in the right way and dosage. Just an impulse for the artists i guess.

@voluntarist500 I like the idea. A lot actually.

Hmmm.

I've been thinking often about this lately. Many coins try to change for changes sake. To appear hot and interesting again. And it sometimes works. Thing is, often that works with coins that were fairly uninteresting or broken to begin with. UNO isn't broken. In fact the coin parameters have served it very well and the hashing algorithm, while old news today, serves the network fine too. I really haven't found any of the ideas other coins are trying recently to be a good fit for UNO.

Maybe a rebranding is an option. We are running UNO on "borrowed ideas" and "leftovers" from the previous team anway. The monolith idea really fits well with the unique nature and rarity of UNO.

@FK: Interesting story. Cool to see you got some quality time with your family out of that pump, that is a WAY better thing to do than all that talk about "getting a Lambo" you read in some other coins threads. Really classy.

This is as good an opportunity to get more (or get back into) UNO as there ever was. This dip is going lower than I expected, maybe we will see a low of 0035 now. But it won't last. Unless a big holder wants to get out, the supply of new UNO is soon drying up. Then there will be only one direction.

I find it funny how everybody is talking about the new "rare" PoS coins with their 10 million+ coin supplies. Much talk about how they'll go beyond 500k satoshi and more like DRK. Meanwhile UNO just sits there smiling and waves at all the passers by - knowing it will overtake them again anyway further down the road...

@ learminer
happy you like the idea Smiley
It is not thought to replace any of the previous branding; more of an additive maybe? Altough it could replace it if the community decides this is a good idea.
Since i am not so good with artwork the final product would be in the hands of the artists and designers among us, i guess.
Can be evolved in many ways.
But you seem to basically understand where i am coming from with this. Not everybody was able to see this.
Uno doesn't need to chase the latest hype. It simply is better than that. And i think it can stand the test of time which many other coins can't, making it a real store of wealth.

MONO = ONE
Monolith = one single (massive) rock

also 'rockchain' fits this. I wonder if i am just decrypting what was already in there.

The old branding doesn't interrupt it. It can be combined with giving the monolith unobtainable properties. Making it surreal would be one way to do so for example. The monolith is pretty much already surreal in itself.

We have now officially the coolest and most desireable crypto-brand out there  Cool

also it can be played with a lot more because the unobtainable is artistically more tangible with this. I hope some of you get inspired by this to put out related graphics.

to associate it with 'strength' or 'the forces of nature' like prominerone did was also a good idea. Can all be added to it. Just some random thoughts. Let's have a supreme cryptocoin.

Can be styled in very different ways too.

altcoin with very low inflation, active community, no premine, fair distro and secure network: exactly what you want to invest in? Support Unobtanium

All sounds VERY good to me! One question though - how do people rate CoinWarz.org? That site doesn't exactly rate Uno THAT highly... Just wondering what people's opinions were on that...?

I'm watching Caishen CAIX closely for a few reasons.  I do hold some CAIX.  One reason has to do with the underwhelming Update 3 that says in part:

"What we will announce will mostly eliminate a major problem every alt coin suffers from, price drops otherwise known as dumps. This program will be scalable and adjusted daily with live reports on website for CAIx."

Huh and... will Unobtanium be able to somehow meet that same challenge?  I like how CAIX stated their goal to reach LTC price levels.  The Unobtanium community should be equally ambitious to see UNO rise to and sustain 1.0 BTC/UNO (+/- 0.20).  The PR at that price writes itself - "What's Unobtanium?"  "It's just like Bitcoin, only it's faster and more rare."

I'm probably 85% in UNO and 15% in others.  Just got more UNO today!

We have now officially the coolest and most desireable crypto-brand out there  Cool

Definitely!  This time next year, we are all meeting in adult disneyland - VEGAS, BABY!  Wink

I love that vision! Smiley

We can get there.  Like I said yesterday, I'm buying. I love Uno below 005 (below 004 is a dream). I'm sad that others are selling so cheaply, but I'll buy their uno if they really don't want it.

Hang on to your uno! We're just getting started.

Look around and you'll see good things happening for uno. There's a solid place for the uno model in the crypto landscape, I believe that.
8 exchanges, tons of pools, lots of new services, new wallets and more to come. Even though uno hasn't yet arrived, I see it is headed in the right direction, thanks to you all.

Bitcoin wasn't built in a day.  In a world of abandoned coins too numerous to even remember or keep track of, UNO's longevity and community are huge assets, as yet not fully realized in Uno's price.   I really believe good things lie ahead for uno. We have a community filled with ideas and volunteers. There's a lot we can build on with uno.
