EBK1000, if the trnasaction is showing on Chainz explorer, you'll be fine. When you sync to the right chain you'll get your coins back.

Just hang tight a bit longer.

Now is a good time for all of us to make a backup copy of our Uno wallets.

Big mistake by devs. UNO price is crashing down @ cryptsy. UNO the next shitcoin?

Yes on the mistake. I could have done a lot better anticipating these problems. I'll beg forgiveness after we're through this.

On the "crash,".... meh, I've seen worse.

Good time to keep one's eye on The Big Picture: cryptos are the future; Unobtanium is the crypto.

I would appreciate it if anyone would confirm if there is a pool with a significant amount of hashrate mining BTC and merge mining UNO?
I read through the last few pages and see where pools have been spoken with, but the few I checked don't seem to say that is what they are doing.

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function.
Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

Merged mining does not work in UNO yet. The code is in the source but it's broken and not working properly. You won't see any pools merged mining it until it's fixed.

Are there two (more) chains because I get the micro payments from Genesis-Mining? Should I reload the blockchain?

Where can we get 0.10?  I don't see it on the github or the website.

Thanks, I have always been interested in the community surrounding UNO but thought the early adopters had the biggest upper hand like so many other coins. Maybe not as much the more I read, seems to be a coin with a bit more of a mature community, which I enjoy. M/M is a real opportunity I want to explore.

The pool at http://mining.securepayment.cc/pools/unobtanium/ has updated successfully.
I will activate merge mining feature as soon as I push out an update to the front end in the next few days.

Whats the best way to see if I am on the right chain or if I somehow am on the wrong chain?

The best way to see if you are on the right chain is to check one of the explorers.
http://Chainz.cryptoid.info/uno or http://insight-uno.cryptap.us/, for example.

Check the number associated with the "Block height."

Then, check which block your Uno wallet is on.  To do this, open your wallet and go to Console > Information
Get the "current number of blocks."  If your wallet agrees with the explorer, you are on the correct chain.

Now, explorers can certainly be on the wrong chain. But from what I am seeing in this case, Uno's explorers are correct and in agreement. They have been compiled for Linux from the code in Github. Most if not all pools, exchanges and services for Uno are run on Linux and have now been compiled from the current source.  Your Windows and Mac wallets are off because they have not yet been compiled with the latest changes. We are awaiting the delivery of the new Windows/Mac wallets, which will agree with the block explorers and the exchanges.

---
To anyone solo mining on the Windows wallet, please stop and for now use the services of the pools mentioned earlier that are on the correct chain. If you continue solo'ing on the Win wallet, you are wasting your hash.

If you are a pool operator, please check now to be certain you have compiled the 0.10. wallet from Git, and then let me know that your pool has upgraded. I'm keeping a list of pools that are known to be on 0.10.

To anyone wanting to move coins: I recommend not sending coins at this time.  If you send them between two Windows wallets, they will arrive on the new chain, and probably not in your other windows wallet. Eventually you can get them back when the updated wallet is available, but why put yourself to the worry. Just hold off sending for now, and backup your wallet.dat (which is always a good idea). If you need to do any transfers,  send a dust transaction as a test before sending a quantity. But rule of thumb for today: don't send to or from a Windows/Mac wallet.

I recommend taking your Windows/Mac wallet offline for now.

Trading Uno on Bittrex/Cryptsy/Cryptopia is safe. Just keep your coins there for now if you have a Windows or Mac wallet.

If the explorer is right then my wallet is wrong. So should I just wait for an updated Mac wallet? In the meantime I have 25 UNO hovering about that I can't use.  Embarrassed

Yes, waiting is the best option right now. Your private keys will work on the new chain. When the new Mac/Win wallet arives, and you open your current wallet.dat, your coins will be there.
Back up your wallet.dat as a precaution. Copy it to a usb stick or someplace secure.

Good response on the fork, I compiled a new wallet on my older version of Debian, but I am having no end of troubles with my "everyday" PC with boost, so at this point I can't build anything until I resolve this issue. :/

Thanks, I have always been interested in the community surrounding UNO but thought the early adopters had the biggest upper hand like so many other coins. Maybe not as much the more I read, seems to be a coin with a bit more of a mature community, which I enjoy. M/M is a real opportunity I want to explore.

Generally with any coin(anything in life really) the early adopters always have the "upper hand". It is classic risk/reward. Sadly though the track record for people who were 'early adopters' of crypto doesn't look so rewarding. If you were in btc when it first came out, and sold when it hit 1.2k, then yes, very lucky. If you actually believed in btc and held it, well, at the current moment perhaps not so lucky. What makes Uno stand out was that it gave all miners an opportunity to get their miners pointed towards Uno when it first came out. Instead of having some buried announcement that only 3 people read, or better yet an announcement after the coin has been mined for a week, there was more than ample time for anyone to get in on it when it first released. Even now, it is never too late to join the party. Is it as easy to score a ton now than it was a year ago? Well it isn't difficult, but it is gonna cost ya a little bit more. If all goes according to plan, next year @ this time it should cost even more to obtain that ton.

I know there are a number of coins with lousy distributions, Uno should see better distro the more popular it becomes. With the advent of mm, we should have a lot more people with more Uno. Luckily the markets can more than absorb any of the pressure that might come from miners selling. Good times are to be had!

That did make me think of something, how many people here today, mined Uno when it first came out?

It is nice to see a few new names popping up, the circumstance is a teeny bit unfortunate but hopefully everyone will stick around!

We can't grow when we won't criticize ourselves!
