OK, so back to UNO. Again, assuming a current average 20 TH/s, say a John Doe all of a sudden throws an additional 100 TH/s at UNO mining. That's way more than 51%. So what (I think) you're saying is that John Doe owing that huge majority percentage of hashing power is not in and of itself a bad thing, but that if "John Doe" were actually a pseudonym for Dr. Evil, the UNO network might be in danger of some serious hanky-panky. Do I understand you correctly?
same goes for all pow-coins. Let's not even talk about pos. (pos is open for various fatal attacks) 100Th/s would be a serious mining farm though. Looking to secure the network should be No.1 priority for uno to make sure it can operate reliably at all times. The more hash the merrier. Better price helps too. 51% attack is normally not the end of the world but would be uncomfortable for sure. Best is prevention. Dr. Evil will not be able to spend coins he doesn't own in any case so balances are always safe. I am looking at getting up to 1 Th/s going for Uno as soon BTC rises a decent bit so i get the contracts for less btc (hope they don't raise the prices then) (hope it is ok i partly answered a question not directed at me )

I can always deposit USD into my Coinbase account immediately. I *think* Genesis updates their exchange rate pretty well, based on a quick check I made. So if today BTC is worth $300 US and tomorrow BTC is worth $600 US, does it really matter? I instantaneously transfer $X from my US bank account to Coinbase, then immediately thereafter fund Genesis with it. It should be the same cost in USD for me, whether I do that bank->Coinbase->Genesis deposit today (when BTC = $300) or tomorrow (when BTC=$600), no? (Of course, if I had a bunch of BTC on hand I'd been hodling, I guess it would matter. I just haven't been hodling any BTC at this point in time.) PS. I notice on their home page that their "Cyber Monday" discount starts in about 4 and a half hours. For me, that's still extremely early Sunday morning. They must be talking Hong Kong time, even though they seem to be mostly Germans and they're incorporated in Bermuda. LOL!

@jelks for me it's a bit harder purchasing btc since i do avoid the banking system alltogether. (I don't like banks and i don't trust them - i'm my own bank) So buying btc is a bit more hassle for me. I am currently more of a hodler because of that

@ Gustav: I hear ya!! Actually buying Bitcoin has been a primary difficulty for us since Day One. Apart from a coupla hundred bucks we pulled for Christmas presents last year, we have in the vaults every single crypto we have ever bought.
We have struggled and struggled to find ways of independently buying coin -- we're rather isolated: 450 K's from the city.

So get a bank account to make buying bitcoin easier. Easier, being the key word. Z

Hi, Ian here again
Just wanted to let some of you know, who might not be aware that very soon Genesis Mining is going to be doing a 48 hour long promo where you can get 10% off your SHA 256 contracts.
This will be similar to their Black Friday deal, but obviously a little longer so if any of you need some extra hashpower and want to mine some UNO coins and help the UNO coin network, might be something that might interest you.
On Black Friday I did find that promo codes work on top as well, so if you can find a promo code with a 3% discount for example then you would get 10% off then the promo code discount ontop of that as well. I can not confirm that but I will be trying myself soon.
There is a countdown timer at GM and at the time of writing was around 20 minutes or so left.
Anyway, hope you found this useful.
Ian
Edit...Discount is up and running now

@ Ian; Sadly, I am gonna miss out on This Particular Discount.
What I would like very much to discuss with you in a coupla months is a discount, even tiny, for traders of Distributed-Vault Coin (the 'auxiliary' coin of our exchange, Un-Ex). They will represent the active steadfast core of Unobtanium development, and I will be advocating 'setting people up' with Genesis-to-get-Uno as a long-term activity. (IndiaMikeZulu just arranged such a model with GAW. If Genesis had been doing Uno, it would have been Genesis.)

I was checkin' out an appcoin's stats this morning, Benefactor. Coin-value will be achieved by carpet-bombing villages with coin -- but won't that produce the problem of people just dumping that coin on the market? Yup, so the dev team's solution is . . . give away more coin!
By giving away coin each month to people who got free coin last month (try and keep up here, campers), everyone will be encouraged to keep their coin.
Ian and I have a word for coins whose values simply keeps goin' down: 'dwindlecoins'

https://coinwallet.co/en/currenciesNot sure if this is listed among the tools of UNO online wallet service ... has some funtional use. Can use like a credit card for purchasing via smart phone -or- targeting the non-tech-smart-don't-want-to-down-load-the-block-chain group. *I have no idea if service provider is legit ... the online wallets have been a 3rd party risk since day one ... what was it mybitcoin.com? ------ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855130.0 POH vote Blazr2 up @Benefactor ... yes they are basically ripping off the BCA ... and Coin Source is just a ween bit swarmy. I say we glean their list of candidates for the few who actually did some ground breaking code work and make sure to include them in the next BCA. ------ http://jnxt.org/crypto25/Moving average of the Crypto25 index ... my guess is that we don't even need to ask ... keep doing what we do and UNO is a natural candidate for the list.

coinwallet.co is run by the same person(s?) as miningpool.co, which is the best UNO pool I know. Online wallets, well, risk, yeah, but the way some people treat security on their own machines, in those cases online is a thousand times better I guess use a bunch of online wallets. Spread your investments, spread your savings. I need something online for easy access anywhere. Though UNO is stored at home.

By usig the promo code MOON you will get an extra 3% discount on every purchase, the code is valid for both SHA-256 and Scrypt cloud mining hashrate at Genesis Mining. ‘Good things come to those who work.’
The Ecosystem "we must build businesses and services around our coins that will engage the greater global markets to find utility with digital currency, and result in actual value for these coins" ... so has stated the Digibyte Dev, Open Letter To The Digital Currency Community
Uno coin community was ahead of the curve and it looks like the other smart coin devs are getting 'it'... if you create a utility then you get actual value. This is why I feel the TT DVC program is the bedrock on which a great coin can be built upon. In this case we are going for the gold, aka the "6000 year bubble". And we are bringing silver along too. And to tie it all together is the big T ... Trust.
And this community has the Rare elements to formulate it right. There's no rush to being a multi-million dollar coin. But if we keep weaving the threads of trust and backing the value with precious metals per the DVC prescription ... then this coin ascends to great heights but with the fidelity of a solid structure under our feet.
The Digital Currency Community Coins can complement not compete. And within just this week I can sense other 'good' coins are too looking to co-operate with their peers. Many of us already inter-mingle with the neighbors. Continue to build an exchange of ideas and explore possibilities with the greater Digital Currency Community.
The boom is over, and the dust is settling. So your ability to factor the good coins from the bad will only get keener, and it is already pretty darn good if you picked Uno out of the circus of 1000 clowns of chaos that was crypto 2014.
Finally ... it is the first of the month ... pay day ... so save $5-$20 to invest in your turtle fund.

@balu ... new TH/s can scare off old TH/s. It's kinda like sitting at a quiet nice fishing hole plenty of fish for you, then along comes loud pack of 20 odd rednecks that start to use dynamite to haul in what were your fish.
So some miners might be heading to greener pastures.

anyone have any luck finding a chinese/english speaker with the technical vocabulary necessary to translate out OP? I've got some UNO ready to donate to the cause, otherwise I will reach out to some people and see if I might be able to find someone.
also @rojan would you be able to start a spanish language thread? Spanish is, after all, the third most popular language on the internet
