EFL English Championship League 2023/2024

We are entering very busy schedule in all UK competitions including EFL Championship.
From now until January 1 there should be played five rounds in 15 days and we often see big surprises during this time.
Winning tomorrow is important for all teams and I have few picks on my mind.

Ipswich vs Norwich
No doubt in my mind that Ipswich is biggest surprise this season and they need to continue winning ways to keep up the title race interesting.
They play first match of the round so if they win they are back in first place, while Leicester will have to wait two days and tricky way match with Birmingham.
Norwich is a solid team but they are not doing so good when playing away from home this season, and they are going to miss few players because of injuries.
When Ipswich wins they usually win the first half and that pays very good but it is more risky.
I expect to see goals in this match and maybe both teams scoring.

Southampton vs Blackburn
I am not sure why bookies made home team such a big favorite but both of this teams are in similar form.
Bllackburn have the best goal scorer in league Szmodics, but Armstrong from Southampton is in second place.
I think that safest bet here is betting on goals, both teams to score or over 2.5 goals.

Championship Round 23 is starting today with two matches, Bristol City vs Hull and Swansea vs Preston.
Rest of the matches are played tomorrow, but there wont be much rest in next few rounds for clubs from United Kingdom.

Hull City is having surprisingly good season so far and they are in 6th position that is one of the play-off places for Premier League.
They dont have very good H2H score with Bristol, but this is the best time to make positive result.
Home team have more injured missing players, and I really like the odds on Hull City but I am taking the safer route with asian handicap and double chance.

Bristol really turned around result in second half and scored last goal in the final moments of the match.
Both teams are fighting hard for play-off positions.

Ten more matches are played today in Championship and I cant believe the odds I see on today early match Leeds vs Ipswich.
I know home team should be slight favorite but my favorite team of the season Ipswich was better so far, with best attack and 47 scored goals.
Leeds at home has no defeats this season so maybe this is the time to lose, and team with better strategy will win.
Last season this two teams played  there was a goal fest with seven goals and they usually play higher scoring matches.
Best betting options for me here are asian handicap on away team, both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.
This could be the match to decide if Ipswich could keep up the title race dream with Leicester.

Leicester vs Rotherham
On paper this is very easy match for Leicester, first place team against last place team, and best against worst form are playing today.
Both teams are motivated for different reason, but sometimes we see big surprises in matches like this.
I see no value in betting on Leicester with such low odds, and coach could rest some players, but Rotherham is missing many players today.
Good options here are handicap win for Leicester, but my bet is home team to win first half and odds are not bad.

It was very interesting Championship Round 24.
Ipswich played 1:1 with Leicester and they dominated second half, so goal was in the air.
I expected to see more goals but I guess stakes for this match was high for both teams.
Southampton won again and they are now in third place five only points below Ipswich.
Szmodics from Blackburn is still the best goal scorer in Championship, but others are not far behind.
New round is played this Friday and there is not much time for rest, so expect some predictions.

Championship Round 25 is played today and we are going to see how teams will react on this tight schedule.
Ipswich has a great chance to return on winning track after solid performance against Leicester last round, and QPR is perfect pray for them.
Odds are not bad on home win and they usually win first half if they win the match, so that could be good betting option.
Both teams are missing few players but Ipswich is in much better form and they are a fortress in home stadium.

My second bet for this round is Preston win against Sheffield.
Home team is not in such a great form like in the start of this season, but they won last round against strong Leeds and I think they can continue with another win.
Sheffield is going to miss many players today and that will make job easier for Preston, with win today they can fight for play-off position and Premier League.
Odds are great on Preston but safer option with asian handicap is also very good, and H2H is also on Preston side.

Southampton should win their home match against Plymouth but I dont like low odds so I am skipping this one.
Leicester is favorite against Cardiff and I think they can create problems and break fluidity of Leicester.
I expect to se tight win for away team but I am skipping this match for betting, or maybe I will try asian handicap +1.

Another Championship rounds was played today and I didnt have time to post my predictions on time.
I am sad to see Ipswich didnt win against Stoke, and Leicester increased advantage in first place after today win against Huddersfield.
Southampton didnt win today but they remain in third place with 4 points more than Leeds.
Next Round 27 in Championship is played on January 12 after sort one week break.

 You make a fine observation here and I also can't help noticing how exceptionally brilliant Leicester are performing in the championship, currently top in the table and I'm wondering if they can maintain this pace when and if they get promoted to the premier league.
 We all know that it's cause of their lack of winning ways that got them to the championship in the first place and to me it seems they have learnt their lesson, which means if they eventually get promoted to the EPL at the end of the season they won't repeat that poor form that got them relegated. Leicester would do better this time around in the EPL come next season but let's hope they continue in their winning ways in the championship.

Championship Round 27 is starting tomorrow and we have one match in Friday, Hull vs Norwich.
Rest of the matches of this round are played in Saturday and Sunday.
Both of this teams are not in great form with only one win from last five total matches, but they still have chance to go in  play-off zone.
Hull is in slightly better position, but both teams have issues with defense, and we often see goals in their matches.
Norwich was better in last two H2H matches, and home team is missing more players tomorrow because of afcon, cards and injuries.
I think draw is most likely outcome here, and both team sacoring.

I had a feeling Norwich could get a draw, but they won in dominant way.
Race for play-off positions is getting very interesting.

I am tempted in playing for Ipswich to win against Sunderland, odds are very good, but I am not sure if they are back in forum after win in FA cup.
First half Ipswich win is so tasty, maybe with asian handicap but I will have to think about it.
This match is starting later tomorrow, so I will make my decision after I watch Southampton match.

Southampton vs Sheffield W
This is a big chance for Southampton to get in second place that guarantees direct promotion to Premier League if they win against Sheffield.
They are in best form right now and they have great H2H record against Sheffield, but both teams will miss some players tomorrow.
Southampton signed few new players and they wont be available for this match, but it is a big boost for the team.
For me home team is much better and I expect win with two or more goals.

Wayne Rooney? He talks too much but can't do a proper coaching job? Mind you you was appointed manager of the club when Birmingham City was 6th position on the Championship standing. Has anyone checked the position they occupy now? I won't say, go see for yourself. Wayne Rooney should go work with Pep Guardiola to get good grasp of the coaching job.

He came in late to change something in Birmingham and he signed for them a month ago, that is 5 matches as their manager, so I dont know what you are talking about, he was not here from the start of the season.

The coaching careers of Rooney, gerrard and Carrick is not as beautiful as when they were still players, we all know that the three of them are quite great players and even have extraordinary talent in playing football, but unfortunately their careers have turned upside down when they served as coaches now, perhaps the most unlucky thing among them is Rooney who was just fired after less than 3 months in office, currently Carrick is probably also one of those in the hot seat and is probably just waiting to be fired because Middlesbrough performance is also quite bad, among these coaches only Gerrard looks quite safe in his current position as a coach, I think not all great players can become great coaches and financial support would also be meaningless if the coach didn't have the talent and ability to coaching although he was previously a skilled player, I think maybe all of us now will lift hats off to Xavi and Xabi who were actually able to make their team quite good and great when the club only had limited funds.

This was good weekend for my predictions, much better than other with leagues.

Big surprise for me that Leicester this time, but Coventry is no joke and red card changed situation a lot in second half.
Most of the other favorites won their matches, Ipswich is still holding second position, but Southampton is not far behind.
Rotherham is best candidate for relegation and they have one of the worst defense in league.
Things can change a lot in Championship, there are 46 rounds in regular part of the season and then we have play-off matches.

Rooney should find something else and do if the coaching job is not working for him. He was a good player during his playing days there is no doubt about that. His records as a coach is not looking good. Instead of going ahead to spoil his CV more and more he can consider working as a second coach under one of the famous coaches around, so he could learn more about tactics. His performance at Birmingham was nothing to write home about.

Swansea City vs Southampton
Southampton have been on a good streak of late, dropping very few points in the league and continuing their successful fight for the top spot. Adam Armstrong and Che Adams have been carrying the team in terms of scoring. I think Southampton's squad is above the league and with this top squad I think they are the biggest candidate for second place. Swansea City, on the other hand, seem to have recovered a bit more in recent games but I don't think they have a realistic target for the play-offs. Southampton need to play every game like a final if they want to be in the Premier League next season. For this reason, I see Southampton as the side that is close to winning.

Tough first half,  My Prediction was for both sides to draw at the end of the game. So far, they have seen a beautiful first half with Sunderland doing more of the attacking than Hull City Though Hull City be also making good moves not good enough though. The way the game be going, Hull City could get red carded for they're too aggressive and have seen too much yellow cards in this game, if Sunderland operates well then they can beat them in midfied and control the entire game to score.

My Prediction still stands though I doubt if a game would be seen in this game. It's Prolly my first time watching the younger brother of Jude Bellingham. Not too outstanding maybe in this game but haven't lost possession as I watch him play tonight.
