Police can investigate but they can't go after someone who they don't know. Police will certainly investigate any request but that's pretty much it. If you want to take action against someone and file a complaint you have to know identity of that someone.

Are you paranoid? Not everyone with new account is Herp. What have you been smoking? I wonder why would you think that? Is this something you would do?

I think if he had gone to the police, they would have said an investigation has been opened.  They wouldn't have denied that any complaints have been made.

No, but your particular blend of herp and derrp is unmistakable.  Why would a kind and merciful god troll the world with more than one of you? <==proof Smiley

As I was saying, he might have talked to UK police since he can't even speak Greek and he's UK citizen.

If he did reach out to police in Cyprus and asked them for their advice there won't be any records about filled complaints. Casual police desk clerk in a big city like Nicossia doesn't know the history of all calls. Someone just checked a complaint database that didn't show any legal complaints.

Why not go to the US police, or the Russian police, then?  I mean, if we're just throwing out hypotheticals, he should have gone directly to the NSA, they can identify people better than a local cop.

Is there any chance Neo&Bee can recover from this?

It doesn't look very good to me:

- TAT suddenly quit

- The CEO quit, possibly due to threats his family received, but maybe not. It really doesn't matter to me. The fact of the matter is that he is gone and selling off his equity in the company.

- They are out of cash. They presumably have assets but no liquid cash with which to pay their employees.

- People expect banks to be stable. No one is going to want to put their life savings in a bank that has had a scandal like this.

If they can't find an investor very soon, I think they should try and liquidate their assets. Maybe someone else will pick up their brand and continue with their original mission. They should use the money received to pay back their investors (us).

With the confusion aggravating the fate of this company and its activities , questions arise about whether it still operates normally.

Apparently, Danny has submitted a change of CEO: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=553869.msg6053935#msg6053935

I have no idea if this means an investor has been found.

We don't know the cash situation.  Seeing as no financial reports have been provided, it's hard to know what they do or don't have.  They may have lots of BTC, but no local currency, or maybe they don't have anything.

@mgio: sell the branch and lease to the new owner. Not a good long term strategy, but maybe they'd buy enough time to actually start the business (unless D. is taking all the money making projects with him)

They're under lease(I remember that I read somewhere that their rent is paid with BTC), so when Neo doesn't pay rent anymore, the owner of the building will kick them out soon. So it seems like they cant sell the branch. They can sell equipment, but these shares are non-equity profit shares. So they have no rights for liquidation funds. Bitcoin community is screwed ... again. And again. And again ...

EDIT : That post under mine ... damn ... the media will eat this failure like a desert. I doubt that any new potential Bitcoiner from Cyprus will be buying into BTC soon. It's horrible what he did. The whole credibility of Bitcoin is destroyed on that island.

... Question Everything, Believe Nothing ...

Well, if they were smart, they would buy back their sold shares with the money they make from liquidation if they want to avoid trouble from the SEC. Yes, I know they are not an American company, but they illegally solicited investments from American investors so you can bet the US gov is going to have something to say about it. Particularly if there was fraud involved and it looks probable that there was.

That's interesting if they are paying rent with BTC.  It's entirely possible that they have BTC but not fiat for expenses, which would explain liquidity issues.

What about European authorities?  As far as I know, fraud is illegal there, too.
