Today we have four matches in the first round of the playoffs for ESL Pro League season 18.
Fnatic vs Monte
Astralis vs Eternal Fite
Virtus.Pro vs 9z
MOUZ vs FURIA

I have bets on all matches today whether it be over 22.5 rounds for map 1 or a -1.5 on maps.
It should be a thrilling first day of the playoffs for this long tournament in CS!

I loved monte on anubis and fnatic on overpass, and both teams won quite easily

Guess thats what happens  when i dont actually bet xD

Astralis meanwhile is losing 0-2 to eternal fire who are in hot form now, perhaps  beating Cloud9 wasnt a fluke at all Cheesy

Eternal Fire had just a massacre of this Astralis team being the first top teams to be beaten by a lower tiered one.
Monte beating Fnatic was the next upset of the first day of the playoffs sending the favorites of that match out of the tournament aswell.
MOUZ beating the brazilians was the next somewhat of an upset since they were on a winning streak from the last one.
But the biggest shock of today had to be Virtus.Pro getting absolutely decimated by a new team to the tour in 9z.
They were 1.38x odds before the match and I had 1.65x for the -1.5 maps for the favorites of the entire day.
But they fell to this team from China.
Reminds me of Lynn Vision the rather new team on the tour and the other squad from China.

Just unreal results today in ESL Pro League.

Just unreal results today in ESL Pro League.
Virtus.pro just a little short. The 2 maps (Mirage, Overpass) that they lost were with a score of 16-14. This may hit the morale of the team, but I think they can handle it. Nevertheless, they took 13-16th place and earned $20 thousand. Virtus.pro also became the champion of the second stage of Europe League 2023 (+$42 thousand)

In the next round, 9z will compete with Movistar Riders. Bookmakers prefer 9z with odds of 1.78. It will be interesting to watch them to see if they can show the same performance against other teams. It will be unexpected if they win the tournament in the end)

Or let’s remember how Team Spirit won TI10: they left the group in 4th place and went through the entire losers’ bracket from the very beginning to the Grand Final. I just can't wrap my head around this.

Team Spirit was one of the surprise teams back then. No one knew them until they won the TI. They are all new and very young players and won the biggest prize pot in DOTA history. I remember I lost a lot of bets because of them. I never expected to beat Team Secret and PSG.LGD back then. But their Magnus strat back then was unbeatable. I think this is the closest they can get to the form they had when TorontoTokyo was still with them.

Larl is really good. Mira alone managed to steal aegis from Roshan when there were 5 opponents. Collapse on Brew Master in solo broke the throne of the enemy. In general, there were many powerful moments. I think that at the TI something may change. I do not rule out that they may relax too much, this will not be an easy walk.

It is just about time that Larl syncs with the team in terms of chemistry. Team Spirit has been patiently waiting for him to truly show his skills. And in the last two tournaments they had, Larl finally is showing his true skills and synergy with Team Spirit. They are finally ready for TI. I do not think that they will dominate TI but I think the teams that has been dominating DPC this year will have something to fear in TI. GG and Team Liquid better watch their back since Team Spirit is back in their form when they won their TI championship back in 2021.

Here is my bet for the ESL Pro League later.

BIG (2.15) vs Eternal Fire (1.62) BIG can still snatch this game under Eternal Fire even though they are underdog in this game. I think BIG is showing some good games but Eternal Fire is more consistent. Let's see if Eternal can hold their own against BIG.

Complexity Gaming (1.72) vs Monte (2.00) There is no clear winner in this series but I am just betting based on their current rank. MOnte is coming from a win though and Complexity Gaming is from a lost. So, maybe Complexity will exert more effort not to have a back-to-back losses.

I am on Eternal Fire as well for this match which begins in a few minutes to start off the day in ESL Pro league playoffs day 2.

We have the follow matches ready to being with the first two then the next set in around 3.5 hours from now.
BIG vs Eternal Fire
Movistar Riders vs 9z
Complexity vs Monte
FaZe vs MOUZ

Also have Movistar Riders winning their first map against 9z and over on rounds for the Eternal Fire match

Good luck both of you on our picks for today!

Valve released CounterStrike Source 2 yesterday so it is finally out of beta testing and available for all to experience for themselves instead of watching the privileged and the pros playing it:

It happened exactly as you said. Congratulations on your excellent results! BIG came very close to winning the first half of the match 11-4, but ultimately lost. This could really get on your nerves. Eternal Fire showed strong morale on Vertigo. I hope the bets will be also successful. Right now they are playing NAVI against Eternal Fire and the winner will play against Monte. Prior to this, Monte defeated Team Vitality in the quarterfinals.

@sompitonov Yeah thanks.

Those matches did happen the way I predicted with my bets winning yesterday.
Also for today I had Monte on the over for rounds on my betslip along with Natus Vincere getting the -1.5 maps which they did quite easily against Eternal Fire.

So a good little run of two days in a row in the ESL Pro League Playoffs since they began.
In what many have called an underdog tournament since many of the higher ranked teams got beaten by the lower ones already.

Another video by ESL Pro League official youtube channel today concerning the Source 2 release to the public early yesterday:

@sompitonov Yeah thanks.

CS2 Release and BIG UPDATE!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkCii4Hg4rw
Monte have won the last 3 games, which shows that they are strong and the game against NAVI will be hot. This game will take place tomorrow, the odds for Monte to win are 2.94, which is attractive to me because I said earlier that I often bet above x2. Of course this is risky, but in this case I expect that Monte will win more than once out of 3 times, which in the long run leaves us with a reward. Of course, I don’t recommend doing what I did, because it’s risky)

I haven’t tried playing CS2 yet, because I know that if I start playing, I’ll spend days and days in it with my friends. In fact, I spent many thousands of hours on CS 1.6, then on CS:GO. I like to play, but at some point I realized that my life was passing me by and I stopped. I love CS, I really like to see that the game received a sequel in the form of CS2, but I won’t play it at the moment. At least that's what I decided. But of course I will monitor its development.

I was super hyped for yesterdays ESL pro league finals Navi vs Mouz

Navi was on a 5 series win streak without dropping a map and Mouz were as well on a 4 series win streak vs teams like G2,ENCE,FAZE  Shocked

The result was highly surprising as mouz took it 3-0 !!  They started as slight favorites but nobody would imagine Navi dont win a single map!

All 4 Mouz players except IGL ofc  were +ve KDA and even s1mple finished with negative KDA  Huh
Torzsi rightfully named as MVP,

Its a great win for Mouz however they might have peaked at the wrong time as all tournaments are now moving to CS 2 Sad

Yes, that was the last ever CS GO tournament ever to be played as other tournaments already had moved over to CS2. There are still a fair few bugs in CS2 so, it will be interesting how it goes. A chance to see a lot more innovative strats now with CS2 as they have different smoke interaction now.

Mouz just had better aimers and IGL. Alexib(NAVI) has lost his last 5 bo5 series as 0-3. He was good while he was in Ence, but that's been a long long time now.

According from those who have played it, they feel it isn't polished enough yet and up to their standards to have it be used in a professional setting such as in tournament play.

I don't know as I haven't played it either but from what the professional players who have tried it earlier, before it appeared on the steam servers for all to download and play, such as s1mple and ropz can be seen in this following video on the issues that have occurred to them during gameplay so far:

CS2 is Worse than CS:GO, But...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e56RprYANA

They have decided to release it for professional tournament play as this article describes which competitions they will be appearing at next starting today:
ESL TOURNAMENTS TO TRANSITION TO CS2; IEM SYDNEY FIRST BIG LAN
Online leagues like ESL Impact and ECL S46 will be making the switch when they resume in the first week of October.
"ESL has announced that its tournaments will transition to Counter-Strike's new iteration as soon as October 2 when ESL ANZ Champs 2023 Season 2 kicks off. Events will use the MR12 format to keep action in line with what players experience in-game.
Online events like ESL Challenger Jönköping qualifiers (October 3), ESL Impact League Season 4 (October 4), and ESL Challenger League Season 46 (October 5) will soon follow. In the league formats, deciders will be played as tiebreakers after the switch to MR12 pushed ESL away from round difference.
The exception to this is ESL Pro League and ESEA S46 at Advanced and below, which will remain on CS:GO."

Of course there will be problems, but over time it will get better. This is not a quick process. Professional players will be forced to adapt to the game, and this was the case with the release of CS:GO. Most people didn't like a lot of things about the game back then, some outright hated it, but then it became just awesome. I think it will be the same with CS2.

If we take the current problems, another one has surfaced with a large number of cheaters. Even ropz wrote about this:  tweet
It is in Valve's best interest to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. This may scare off those players who were hesitant to start the game.

There is a high probability that something will go wrong in CS2 tournaments due to a bug, an abuse, or something we cannot foresee. From this point of view, it will be interesting for me to watch the upcoming major tournaments.

What are your thoughts on the TI12 prize pool? As of now, the current prize pool for TI12 is $2,784,573 which is lower than the Riyadh Master 2023 prize pool of $15,000,000 USD! Do you think TI12 will surpass the Riyadh Master 2023 prize pool until group stage on October 12?

not going to lie, but the Compendium this year is really disappointing.

You can check the current TI12 prize pool here: https://dota2.prizetrac.kr/international2023

@xLays
Not to certain about DOTA2 tournaments but there are many resources to find out. I believe I put up a site or two a few pages back of this thread related to the information you seek.
Or somebody who frequents the thread and knowledgeable about when the next major tournament and prize amounts for the next TI tournament could answer your questions.

The Blast Premier Fall showdown Europe is underway and they are still on old CS:GO as it wasn't scheduled for the revision to Source 2 yet and the players probably weren't versed enough in the new requirements to play the update and the new M12 format.

BIG vs 9INE is currently in progress with the german side being up 11-4 on map 1.
Ence vs Alliance is the next match to close out the day in professional CS tournament play while Imperial Sportsbet are playing Party Astronauts on the Americas side of Blast Premier Fall Showdown.

I don't think that it will surpass that prize pool. Valve probably did this on a purpose because there was this announcement if I'm not mistaken that they'll release some battle pass after the TI. See the timing? Isn't that intentional? Valve is there to make money but they're just breaking the tradition that they've made TI as one of the biggest tournaments.

But if it's not doable, I guess it's still with the little prize pool for every participant and to the champion and the glory that it brings.

On some news about players, Karl just posted that he's looking for a new team and that means that Blacklist has removed or he left the team or his contract already expired.

I like to him move to another region like in EU where he can accelerate and improve more. And not just him that departed from team but also Kpii and their two coach and assistant coach.

Likely all of their contracts expired.

Basing up on this tweet;

Today we say thank you and farewell to our beloved Blacklist Rivalry members: Karl "Karl" Baldovino, Damien "kpii" Chok, Kenny "Xepher" Deo. Their contracts have come to an end and are not being renewed,” Blacklist announced on Twitter, thanking the three members for their contributions.

Basing up on the word, "Being not renewed" then its clear that they didnt have that option to stay up but rather itst indirectly telling that
they are kicked because they didnt been able to get to qualify for TI12.

TI12 Prize pool is a joke. Riyadh Masters is much bigger. There are sayings or rumors that they did tend to launch that battle pass after TI. Arent that an odd situation?
TI is known to be having the biggest prize pool for Dota2 tournament but it seems they do come back to scratch.

I've also heard of the rumors and he'll possibly join with Mind Control when two of their players struggle to secure a visa. Both players would be a straight upgrade for the team and might even get a good placement if they're lucky enough with the group draw.

Aside from TI, there's also Worlds, which i'm looking forward to in a few days since I might focus on their group stage as i'm usually struggling with Dota's Bo2 format.

This is a known attitude of Blacklist and its management or let us say for every organization in Dota 2, if they are unsuccessful then there's surely gonna have that mix or replacement that's about to happen and that has become a typical thing on this one.

What was that team that we've seen before that have stayed with their squad? I guess all of them have to replace especially when there's no success found even in LAN or online tournaments that has a good prize pool. And maybe on their contract it's said that it's just for the TI qualifiers and if luckily ever qualified, the contract continues.

But then that since it's done and they were unsuccessful then that contract has to expire without any option of renewing it.

TI12 Prize pool is a joke. Riyadh Masters is much bigger. There are sayings or rumors that they did tend to launch that battle pass after TI. Arent that an odd situation?

Truly an odd and untimely decision for Valve. There's something lack on this TI and this is what the entire community is waiting for, the prize pool and even we're not professionals and just bettors, players and fans that supports this game.

It's disappointing that it's not hitting the numbers and I am sure that most of the teams that are looking forward on the prize pool are disappointed as well while seeing this.

A year of competition and qualification with the expectation that they'll compete with the largest prize pool and grandest tournament in Dota 2 then that expectation didn't come into reality.

But that's how it is, Valve can just drop those items and sales a month or two before TI but they didn't.
