Oh my, I've lost this bet. I should have followed my heart to bet on Avulus as the champ of this tournament with a good odds. The first 2 maps were won by 1win but then 3rd and 4th map was taken by Avulus up to fifth map, that was heck of a sweep from them, a reverse sweep indeed.

Reminder: 4 days to go and the TI2024 starts, the prize pool isn't interesting as it's quite low until now. So, this is expected that each year of TI, prize pool will become lesser as the game is getting older and there are lesser support from the community now.

Thanks for the headups on the Dota2 scene @passwordnow because as we all know I am not fluent in that game, yet atleast.

That's okay man, we've got a lot of dota 2 gamers and bettors here and that's why everyone of them is updated in anyway.

Heard some terms about it on my sportschat that I am on and catching up on the game this way.

That happens but very rare, I remember that with former Team Liquid roster with insania, they've picked a wrong hero that was in the meta of being a carry but they played it as a support role in a TI game, yes.

So what are the prize amounts and why are they so low compared to last year?

There's lesser support from the community I guess and gamers don't buy the compendium that they've made for this year. I think that the trend as well is going down for dota 2. Currently, the prize pool becomes $2.350M. I am waiting for the update of the group stages and will post that soon when it's available already.

Update for The International(13) 2024.

They already have the matches for the group stages and two days from now, it's about to start and there's so many games to bet on for day 1 with these 4 groups.




I have picked two bets already but for draw, so these matches on group stages are a best of 2 match only. Most of the games in here are likely to get draw based on what I've seen in the past tournaments but who knows, this is TI and it could be different this time. I am still contemplating about the other matches that I should bet on but for now, this is my first dibs.

You're welcome and no, there won't be any in-game advertisements whether from Valve, sponsors or even with the teams. The article mentioned that they aren't going to allow it.

This year, to remove distracting elements and allow full focus on the game and the people playing it, we aren't going to have advertisements and sponsorships in-game at The International, including in team banners, base logos, and tags in player names.

But these advertisers should bring in more money then allow for a larger prize pool.

If it is with the prize pool, these advertisers should be allowed to advertise through Valve's dota client instead of sponsoring the teams. With that, that's how these advertisers will be able to help to increase the prize pool. But most of these advertisers are only sponsoring teams directly and their main economy impacting the players and teams to have better salary and funding.

Every game in the pub, there's always the ring master and that's why it is a crazy meta. I think he's OP but is he in the drafts? I don't think at this TI he's in there, I haven't read any official patch about him included in the draft so that's why I am not expecting him to be there. Or, if within the few hours a patch will happen and it's about him, for sure that it's going to be part of the first bans. We've got few hours left until the opening of the games start. All teams are already checked-in, people and players from Copenhagen sure is going to enjoy this TI.

You are right, Draft is different from Pub, but wouldn't it be stupid for Valve to release such a hero and leave the International without him?

Every time I see a new compendium, I facepalm and remember the old first great compendiums. And all those events like Chinese New Year, when great sets on heroes were easy to get for free. Now Valve are like a greedy old man, giving only bad items for free.

Yeah, because he was just released weeks before the TI. IIRC, this has happened on the other new heroes in the past, they were not included in the TI but I'm not yet sure but let's see.

Dude, that was the greatest of the past and it's sad that Valve has turned his way from being a community friendly provider than to looking at us as their money making machines. Anyway, I don't really care about the items but about the battlepass and compendium, they should give what the community wants. This TI even with the Saudi Prince, not probably impressed with what Valve released lately.

Passwordnow did talk about this new hero earlier on in the thread, The Ring Master as you had mentioned.

This tournament is like a break for most of the teams that are going to participate in the The International 2024. We've got less than a month before that grand tournament comes and so a new patch has came and most teams have also a way to practicing their hero.

I agree, we should tread lightly for now and save most of it for TI, where most teams would bring out their full potential.

That's right about someone mastering it especially on the pro scene and tournaments. But as of now, I don't think that he's available to be picked in tournament matches. He can be played and picked for normal games and rank matches but not for these tournament matches yet, that's what I at least know for now.

Well not really, it doesnt mentioned on liquipedia's page that there will be extra prizepool for the teams so probably Valve is going to rake every extra advertising fee that they will get from this. Valve is just a greedy mf  

This is what I'd like to believe though but I kinda doubt it so probably there will be some closed deal between Valve and all those teams that participate to split in those fee or probably based it on the popularity of the participating teams or something along that line

I would avoid parlaying on the early stage, it's very hard to get some accurate bets on this early and it's with 2 games only per match.

I love how Dark Zero is playing at TI and they beat Falcons in 1st map with style and precise timings that made their strategy work perfectly! Now , they are trying the same thing on map 2 by baiting Bristle as offlaner and ended up as hard support. I had some feeling that Dark Zero will be the Dark Horse of this TI and by the way they are playing I won't be surprised to see them reaching top 6.

Yes, they're always been that good but last year was probably their momentum but maybe it is still for this year. They've won easy 2-0 against 1win for which this team have been doing good for the past tournaments recently.

I like that map 1 and they've beaten Team Falcons. But on the map 2, I know that they have an odd line up but it's composed of a bristleback support to add minus armor which is the purpose of their line up. Team Falcons did them dirty on map 2.

I personally don't have any bets on TI yet because the games are pure lottery and you know why is it this way ? Because Valve decided to make a group stage where anyone can qualify further so no matter what place you get in the groups , you are still playing further in tournament. That's why , it's better to stay away from groups and just learn the meta and the style of teams as that might the only factor who could help us when we bet later on. I must also say this is one of the worst TI ever created and hope Valve will take notice of this and never repeat this horrible mistake.

Oh man, I hate this match. I bet for 2-0 GG on this game but it went 1-1. While I have lost that bet because it went the other way and Heroic won. I'm happy to see them that they're able to win 1 match against GG. That was heck of the game especially the 2nd map. Heroic was really winning the game and I thought that GG will turn the game upside down and will have a come back but they didn't.

I understand you take but the adrenaline and excitement wants me to bet more as this it TI and it only happens once a year. Sum it up with the 2 games per series and that's really hard matches to bet on.

I must also say this is one of the worst TI ever created and hope Valve will take notice of this and never repeat this horrible mistake.

I can't conclude that yet but I'd say that it's not as hyped as the past ones. First, the prize pool isn't that much and secondly, the compendium didn't do what it is intended for. Still, this is still going to be a long tournament so it's possible that it could change your mind.
