Canelo will still likely win this match because he now have more advantage than GGG, but getting a win in this trilogy won't give him much hype but he needs to endure this fight because this is his ticket to get a rematch agaisnt Bivol.

Yes, I agree with that. Winning against GGG won't put Canelo on fame as the big thing is by defeating Dmitry Bivol. If Canelo will win here, I think it's just a recognition that he will receive but the hype isn't that high because GGG is already on his retirement age and this trilogy might be his last fight.

Regardless, Canelo has to win no matter what. If GGG wins instead, I doubt Canelo will have a chance to face Bivol in a rematch. Aside from that, Canelo might not get big fights and needs to go back from the below rankings before having a shot again to fight in a title match.

Nobody have thought that Dmitry Bivol will be the 2nd boxer who will put a stain in Canelo's record, Bivol has the reach advantage but Canelo has the IQ in the ring as he is more experienced but the defending champion, Bivol has done a good job in frustrating Canelo. The judge's tried to help Canelo but the fight was really clear that Canelo was having a hard time getting near with Bivol.

If GGG will win in this trilogy, I don't know anymore. Perhaps Canelo should go back down to his most comfortable division and make his name again great in that specific division.

Yeah, GGG is also determined to win, and now that Canelo is coming from a loss that will make GGG more confident that he can exploit Canelo's weakness. After this, GGG can retire (regardless of the outcome) because he is not getting any younger and he has already achieved a lot in boxing to be called as one of the greatest, so he can enjoy his life while he is still healthy.

It's easier for him to retire if he loses the fight because if he wins, it would open more opportunities for him to have big fights and that means a big payday for him, unless, he will think of his legacy and will retire with a pride, like what Mayweather and Marquez did. In the end, it still depends on the decision of GGG, he know his limit and he knows what he likes to achieve in life, so let's enjoy the trilogy as we have been asking for it.

If he will beat Canelo on this one, I am sure, he may not think of retiring yet. But who will be his next opponent other than Canelo again? So yes, this will be interesting how this match will pan out. But in this trilogy, I believe, Canelo will win. As he is coming from a loss, he has the motivation to train and prepare hard for this fight. This is to regain his status and popularity. I am thinking that bookies may slightly favor Canelo here. But let us see once bookies give their odds to this fight.

If GGG wins, then he should go back to 160 lbs, there are a lot of young ang upcoming fighters on that division. We have Charlo and then Lara and also Jaime Munguia. So a lot of options for GGG if he chooses to continue to fight.

As for Canelo, at 168 lbs, we've said that he has clean up this division already, and that's why he moved up in weight by defeated by Bivol. The only one name relevant for Canelo at Super Middle is David Benavidez.

If it goes down to the scorecard, then Canelo is definitely going to win.  Grin

Canelo for sure will be under a lot of pressure. Already he is being blamed for delaying the trilogy fight and on top of that he is still recovering from his upset loss to Dmitry Bivol. I watched the highlights of the match. Canelo started well and Bivol was on the defensive for the first few rounds. But probably Canelo tried too hard too early and after a few rounds, it looked as if he was tired. All the three judges had exactly the same scoring for all the 12 rounds. Canelo won the first four rounds, while Bivol won 7 out of the next 8 rounds.

No doubt but I think GGG can survive the whole 12 rounds without getting knocked out but Canelo will have the upper hand when it comes to the judge's hand.

Hopefully he will somehow give this fight a good one to see because people and fans still wanted to see this trilogy not because they're interested how would the fight go but because this might be GGG's last fight before he decides to hang up his gloves as he is already 40 years old. I'm not underestimating GGG here, I just want him to retire as he is much older already and he's in the hall of fame and won't be forgotten through time. Continuing to dance in this industry will eventually make him look bad as the upcoming champions will look for his name to include him in their rapsheet.

For the first two fights, the scorecards from third party sports websites were completely different from what was given in the end by the jury. So this time there is going to be a lot more scrutiny and the judges will be under a lot of pressure. And regarding the second point, although Golovkin is 40 years old, I don't think that this is going to be his last fight. He can go on for another 2-3 years without lowering his profile. But if he gets knocked out this time, then he might think about an early retirement.

If GGG win he will become an undisputed champion in super middleweight division, I think he wouldn't move to light heavyweight like Canelo do, he will collect other belts in middleweight division since he only have both WBA and IBF belts currently. I think after he already become undisputed champion in middleweight divison, he will retire. The odds are favor on Canelo as favorite with 1.22x odds, while GGG as an underdog with 4.00x odds.

Looking at the odds, it is not just a slight Canelo lead. It means that Canelo is a huge favorite in this fight. And I couldn't disagree with it since GGG is old and at the same time he is also moving up in weight. Just in case GGG pulls an upset, is there a rematch clause?

David Benavidez meanwhile is the WBC super middleweight interim champion. He may get the winner of this fight. This kid is a young and big killer. He is fighting under the PBC umbrella though a rival network of DAZN where Canelo and GGG are connected.

I don't know about the contract yet but I think it would be nice if GGG will give Canelo a chance for a rematch as he was given a chance for a trilogy despite the fact that he has not won a single fight.

For sure that's going to be his big fight as GGG and Canelo are very popular, that would also mean a decent payday.

After the fall of the legendary and future Hall of Fame Nonito Donaire from the hands of a much younger Naoya Inoue, I can see GGG is next. Although GGG has better odds than Donaire, I still believe the latter has the better chances of winning due to his power and he did hurt Inoue during their first fight. Canelo Alvarez already took GGG's best shots for 24 rounds. Now GGG is old and slower, I really really doubt he can outbox nor hurt Canelo Alvarez. Canelo Alvarez will stop GGG this time. Watch out on boxers entering their mid 30's as their bodies will start to decline (Lomachenko and Crawford).

That may be true but GGG and Donaire is incomparable, the only identical for the both boxers is they are both approach 40 and 40's. Aside from that, GGG have made his own legacy while Donaire have made his own too but they belong in completely different leagues. GGG may lose this trilogy but Canelo won't have that much hype because he didn't gave GGG his deserved rematch for years and now his giving it because he is now sure that he can defeat GGG much easier.

Watch out on boxers entering their mid 30's as their bodies will start to decline (Lomachenko and Crawford).
Like Canelo, right? The man is also approaching mid 30's.

this is why this match is an interesting one. can GGG prove that age doesn't matter inside the ring? GGG won his last fight with murata, but can he still give a good fight with canelo. for sure, both camps have the motivation to win this upcoming fight. GGG wanting to win one last time maybe before he retires, whereas, canelo wanting to win because he lost his last fight. no odds yet, but who do you think will be the slight favourite of bookies?

Indeed this is an interesting fight but it's not like one of the most anticipated fights because we can somehow say that this fight is a mismatch because the trilogy was already late. No proof could back up that Canelo is afraid of GGG that's why he didn't give him a chance with a trilogy but Canelo cannot hide his anxiousness towards GGG at that time because his actions are somehow clear that he won't risk his record with GGG who has a strong chin and can withstand his power.

Slight favourite of the sports bookies? I bet it will be Canelo for sure, his loss won't be accounted for in this fight because of their gap.

There is no doubt in my mind that after the second fight which was so controversial Canelo and his training staff decided to begin to avoid GGG, as it was simply a fighter that was too difficult to overcome and most likely Canelo would have liked to never face GGG ever again.

However after the loss he suffered against Bivol he needs a fight to raise his status again and GGG is the best option for it, as he will try to dispel all of the doubts generated after the second fight.

That will remain as big if for now because there's no denying that Canelo have the advantages this time, GGG is still good but not as good when he last fought Canelo in their rematch and time have passed, now he is getting older at 40 years old while Canelo is currently standing at his prime. Canelo forced this fight because he needs it now than ever with confident while declining the trilogy for quite few years because he's hiding from the reason that he have defeated GGG already and there's no need for a trilogy.

He might for another fight with any possible boxer if he can defeat Canelo in their trilogy, but the way I see it, win or lose, GGG will likely hang up his gloves because he is already stepping at age 40 and that's where most boxers retire because the exactly knew that they won't be that relevant in the game as their body has been through countless battles since they started their professional fights. Though the upper hand is on Canelo, I would love to see GGG winning in his last match before he retires, I don't want him to be a reason just to have Canelo his ace again.

When it comes to retirement then it would be definitely depending on a certain boxer whether they would be hanging out their gloves or not or would continue despite of the body condition that they do have which we could definitely say that it wont really be much effective when it comes on fighting younger opponents and same as yours im rooting for GGG to win on this one and not that overrated Canelo i would say.
GGG might be old but seeing with that recent fight against Murata then he could still land some good shot and its better to see he would win up against Canelo with this trilogy.

I like boxing game but i have never see a site were you can place bet for the participants that will win the game for you as a bet, example casino kind of gambling sites that is open for this particular sute of bitcointalk and soccer kind of betting sites you can bet both offline and online and when you win your funds will credit you directly from your account

I am not following you here. But if you will bet on a reputable bookie, why won't they not give you your winnings?
Maybe, please explain further what you wanted to say here. Because in this forum, you will already find site with casino and sportsbooks combined.
Just look at my signature and other known sites in this forum. And what do you mean bet offline?
Are you talking about traditional physical casinos?
But anyway, boxing, soccer and other sports - you can now easily bet online using crypto sportsbooks. Start from the sites you can find in this section.
Also, have you tried checking your signature for this?  Huh

i thought the gap will be small but i was wrong. canelo is still heavily favoured. maybe, owed to his age and this is the division that he is comfortable with. so for those who are rooting for GGG, time to spend some money for him because you have very good odds here. it may decrease as the fight is getting near.

I don't think the odds for GGG will go down, no disrespect for him but I think this fight is a retirement fight for him now. We have seen lately too many older fighters being beaten up by their younger counterpart like Manny Pacquaio and Nonito Donaire. Some may argue that GGG still has it to beat Canelo but I think the opposite. He has not beaten him when he was younger, how much more now that Canelo is peaking plus with the help of the judges lol.

I'm not surprised though, bookies is leaning towards Canelo to win big again. As we all know that Canelo won in the second fight, (but there are a lot of controversies and arguments against it). Nevertheless, this is what the punters t sports bookies saw and that's whey they give Canelo that huge odds to win even though he is coming from a lost to Bivol. Maybe as the fight gets closer, there could be small swing at the odds but it will not be that huge.

i thought the gap will be small but i was wrong. canelo is still heavily favoured. maybe, owed to his age and this is the division that he is comfortable with. so for those who are rooting for GGG, time to spend some money for him because you have very good odds here. it may decrease as the fight is getting near.

Yes, this odds are going to be maintain up to the fight night. They still believed that Canelo being the young guy and got the win against GGG, will be favored come trilogy. And we can't deny that Canelo is still very good boxer, pound for pound on top of the list despite the blip against Bivol (swallow more than he can chew). GGG won against Murata, but we can't compare him against a prime Canelo and then GGG nearing the retirement age for most boxers, even great boxers like him.

True. Didn't saw much movement in the odds. From the beginning itself, I thought that GGG's odds are a bit lower than what they should have been. They remain at that level. All that said, I would say that momentum is with Golovkin (after his recent win against Ryōta Murata). On the other hand, Canelo maybe still recovering from his defeat against Dmitry Bivol. But knowing how hard Canelo trains and focuses on his career, I am not sure how much of an opportunity it presents to Golovkin. Anyway, for GGG there is nothing to lose and obviously he won't be the one under pressure before the match.
