Looking at the current odds:

ML
Alvarez - 1.21
GGG - 3.95

So that is a huge disparity as far as the odds goes and they seems to really favoring Alvarez here. Maybe the age factor is what this bookies are looking at, GGG just won his last fight, while Canelo lost to Bivol. I think it's a great odds for GGG supporters this early as it is very attractive.

I've already anticipated this scenario that Canelo Alvarez will be listed as the favorite one to win while GGG will be the underdog but what I didn't expected was the gap of their odds because GGG has won his last fight against Murata while Canelo has been defeated against Bivol in his last fight. GGG's odds are attractive though but I can't be that sure that he will win, frankly.

I agree, and it seems that Canelo will still be the favorite no matter who is he going to face maybe against Beterviev. I understand that GGG shot might have a little chance because they are going to fight at Canelo's territory. Nevertheless, I will say that GGG is a live underdog, and simply will give his everything to win in this fight.. So yeah why not bet on him even for just a medium money, I guess it wouldn't hurt.

And you got that right, of course, Canelo has more chances to win against GGG in the ring. He has the advantage against the ready-to-retire GGG and he has to win even on their upcoming trilogy if there's no hype if he wins it because he can't afford to lose for the 2nd time this year but he still should be careful against GGG though because even the man is much older than him, GGG can always upset any opponent he'd face even if that name is Saul Canelo Alvarez.

Yes, it seems to me that the big problem of all professional athletes is that they do not leave during the peak of their fame and athletic form, leaving feelings of joy and pride in the hearts of fans. Instead, they continue to participate in fights and cause disappointment, I hope that the upcoming Canelo vs Golovkin fight will be an exception.

Of course, it's their job that they love, so it's hard for them to leave at the peak, maybe Michael Jordan because he feels that there is no more challenges. But in a sports like boxing, wherein you physically trying to fight against each other, it's hard to let go of that specially if you think even at age 40 that you can beat a young champion. Although this fight should have happen years ago when Golovkin is not that old. But at least we will see one final great fight for him if ever he chooses to retire.

That's the time Bivol crashed Canelo because the latter wasn't able now to focus on the fight out of frustration made by Bivol. GGG knows already some strategies to beat Canelo and will just wait for the perfect time to land those against Canelo. This will be a GGG win and a good timing to announce his retirement.

What a gap but I'm in favor of that. I like to put a fair amount on GGG regardless of both boxers' status. I think it's just fine to place a bet for him knowing that the trilogy might be his last fight, win or loss. GGG will put everything into that fight as that might be the last time he will fight seriously in a big match. Yes, I will bet against most analysis speculation as they favored Canelo here to win the match.

Might be late for the trilogy as GGG is no excuse for age gap disadvantages but I'm sure, like what he did in their 2 previous fight, GGG will be able again to put Canelo on his limits. The latter is surely still under the effect of stressful loss against Bivol. Hard to regain confidence on that as that was a bad loss despite being a heavy favorite in that match.

Yes, a fair amount of bet will do, and if ever we lost on our bet, then it might not hurt us. And who knows, for me GGG can still fight and there is a slim chance that he might pull an 'upset'.

It's because they think that GGG has lost a step or two, although he won against Murata, he came from a layoff that's why it took him some time to adjust in that fight but eventually win although he took some punishment in that 40 year old body. GGG is one of those boxers that really push Canelo  and almost 'got the win'.

LOL.. those odds are eerily similar to the ones we had for the Canelo vs Bivol fight. And we know how it turned out. Apart from the chance of winning, the number of bets being placed on either side will also determine the odds. For example, during the Pacquiao vs Thurman fight, the latter had better odds earlier on. But then Pacman fans started placing their bets in the millions, the sportsbooks were forced to change their odds in favor of Pacquiao. In this case, Canelo's odds may be better than what they are in reality, because of the huge number of bets being placed by his supporters.

That shouldn't be a big problem and disadvantage for GGG. As long as he will do his best, making sure that most rounds will win by him, judges might not influence the score cards. That's what happen when Dmitry Bivol won even if their fight was on Canelo's homecourt advantage. It's hard to give a win to the one favored if the whole time, the Favorite is clearly losing every round.

It needs to be very compelling though to make the judges score the round for GGG, otherwise if it is very close, I'm seeing the same thing over again, judges be biased on Canelo.

Like Bivol, GGG has to do something to make Canelo disappointed again while fighting.

They have fought 24 rounds, so for sure he might have an idea on how Canelo fight. In the Bivol fight though, Bivol was able to get back at Canelo with his superior jab and his physical advantage, (height and reach). GGG doesn't have that much advantage so it's going to be the old hard fought rounds and needs to outland Canelo.

Yeah, it's a swing odds, so we still need to wait for GGG supporters to turn the tide, but I doubt that they can overwhelm as far as the betting public goes. It will still be Canelo who is going to be the outstanding favorite. Tons of dollars needs to go to GGG, but then again, Canelo fans and even bettors know that he will have a greater chance to win again. So I would say that there will be no swing bets for GGG, maybe just a couple give and take.

At least in the major betting markets such as United States, Canada and Great Britain, far more odds will be made in favor of Canelo when compared to GGG. Within the US, Canelo may be having 5x or 10x more supporters (and more bets) when compared to Golovkin and that is the reason why there is such a large disparity in purse. The promoters also know about the fan base of both the boxers and they are doing all they can to create hype about the fight in the United States as well as in other markets.

They needed to create such noise in order to bring more money into this upcoming fight. The more fans to engage, the better

earnings that they can get, this anticipated trilogy will gain more interest since the two previous fights are still controversial and the

fans wanted to see the closure in case Canelo will again win the fight, but what if GGG wins? another rematch? let wait and see if

how the fight will end up and who will win between these two,.

LOL.. those odds are eerily similar to the ones we had for the Canelo vs Bivol fight. And we know how it turned out.

Yep, but during that time, there was a lot of doubts on Bivol and bettors think that Canelo wouldn't lose. Can history repeat itself here?

Apart from the chance of winning, the number of bets being placed on either side will also determine the odds. For example, during the Pacquiao vs Thurman fight, the latter had better odds earlier on. But then Pacman fans started placing their bets in the millions, the sportsbooks were forced to change their odds in favor of Pacquiao. In this case, Canelo's odds may be better than what they are in reality, because of the huge number of bets being placed by his supporters.

It's based on demographics as you have explain it, both have huge fan based, Canelo on US and then GGG in Europe. And I think this will remain still, bets on both sides can't offset it anymore.

I'm glad that the odds are out already. The odds of GGG is indeed very attractive, I mean, I know he has not won a fight in the last 2 fight against Canelo but that 3.95 is just too much as GGG was not fully dominated in the last 2 fights, so I believe he has a very good chance of winning here by upset.

Even me, I think that the odds are really attractive, it's hard to pass that knowing Canelo came from a loss while GGG came from a big win. I know the age disparity and I know Canelo won the last two fights as well, but man, I'm a fan of GGG so it's hard not to take it.

Yes, it was a good odds for us, it's hard to see crypto bookies putting a odd like that for a great boxer like GGG. But he is facing Canelo, so what can we say.

But as you have said, there is chance for GGG by an upset here. Specially if he found his second win at his age. Great fighters has one good fight in them, and hopefully this will be the one for GGG.

Is poll really needed that much ? Current mood of this topic is "GGG is great, but he is old. Canelo is younger, that is why he will win". People will vote for Canelo, but some will place bets on GGG, because real chances of him winning this fight are greater what bookies offer. Dont if poll really helps to get a clear picture. There was a poll in Anthony Joshua vs Olexander Usyk topic. Everyone was voting for Joshua, but Usyk won in a dominant manner. I dont trust poll much Cheesy

They know what they are doing because it's their job to provide odds for us, however, I am seeing this as an opportunity, so as a bettor, I will take it and believe that GGG will win.  Both are great boxers, probably will be a hall of famer as well when they retire, so no one is really an underdog here and bookies could be wrong.

Thanks for the tag, have already put a poll on this thread.

Personally, I'm voting for Canelo to win this fight because of the obvious reason that GGG is old now while Canelo is on the top 5 in my list in the pound-for-pound ranking.

This may not end in a knockout but definitely, GGG will be having a hard time avoiding those power punches of Canelo. Though GGG won in his last fight but it clearly shows that he lost some steps on that night.

1-1 is the standing now,  Smiley

I voted for GGG because I love the betting odds, he is a big underdog, and knowing that Canelo has not KO him yet, I believe there's a value of my money even if GGG will lose again in this 3rd fight.

Guys, don't forget to vote in the poll so we will have a picture of what posters believe to win this fight.

First part of your statement is true, but not the last one. I will be making a bet in favor of Golovkin. I agree that Canelo has a better chance of winning. But look at the odds for Golovkin. They are too attractive to ignore. Canelo is not untouchable, as Bivol has already defeated him (and I would say that it was his second real defeat after the first fight was stolen from Golovkin). Golovkin's age is a concern. But given the odds, it is a risk that I am willing to take. Took the risk in the first two fights as well, and I hope that this time I will end up in profit.
