Let's wait and see the outcome of this fight as we all know that this two fighter already proves what they got. And in their third match a lot of prediction comes up in our mind because as we can see that both fighters aiming for TKO or KO once again to prove that who is the best and if this fight ends up with a unanimous decision for sure there's a possible GGG vs canelo 4 .
The fourth fight wouldn't count as a professional record anymore, but an exhibition fight since GGG already retired when it's happen. It's sad to see there's no other good boxers that can compete GGG or Canelo on super middleweight or middleweight, so many fans only expect the fourth, fifth, sixth and so on. When GGG already retired, I think the super middleweight or middleweight would be boring.

Fair point because GGG will finally have a closure on his career what will be the result.

Successful happy ending career when he won because he finally get the revenge for his only lose and draw for his record.

Or Successful a bit sad ending career because he can’t prove that he is the greatest on his division despite his outstanding record because he can’t beat the man that keeps blocking him to be on the top.

Either way, the best thing is he does manage to call for this fight and he has the chance of proving something before retiring.

I'm quite optimistic that he will bring everything here and he will really try to win for the sake of his die-hard fans, we also don't know

if ever that he wins this fight, maybe he will be taking the opportunities to make more money and make another rematch for the final

Closure of their rivalry. We never know it will be depend from the outcome of this fight.

In the very first place though, I don't think that 4 meetups between them are still possible even if GGG isn't retired yet.

This is the final journey between them regardless of the result. The trilogy is the final one.

After this fight, both boxers will now move on to their next plan without having any thoughts of having another rematch.

It's been a while since GGG doesn't have any big fights. He was also on hiatus for 2 years after returning to ring against Murata. The competition on Middleweight or Super Middleweight will still be "fairly" the same even if GGG will now retire. We have boxers at this division who also making names.

We also have good title holders here like Erislandy Lara, Jermall Charlo, Janibek Alimkhanuly, etc. although I will admit nothing can compare how heavy GGG's legacy is in boxing. Anyway, GGG is asked to have a mandatory fight with Lara 4 months after the trilogy with Canelo. That might be GGG's next fight.

It is actually possible for a fourth fight considering that their first match was a split draw and the second match was a majority decision in favor of Canelo. But that is only possible if GGG wins this time around. That means both of them got 1 win each so a tie breaker could be arranged. But other factors of course could make the fight less interesting. GGG has already reached 40 and he is much older than Canelo.

GGG is a fighter to surely be remembered but the world of boxing hasn't stop for just one fighter retiring. There's always another fighter that would show up and make history.

Looking forward to that 4th fight, I know they will not regret it because they will be able to sell the fight well again. When they fight, it's not a boring fight because they go toe to toe and the good thing is that they are both strong, so no one will be knocked down.

It's still too early to talk about the 4th fight, it all depends on the result of the third fight, and the motivation of both fighters if they want a fourth one, if GGG wins he can retire because he is already hinting about retirement if he losses and the result is not satisfactory and could go the other way around he can go for the third one, Canelo will not get satisfied with a loss, if he losses he will gun for another fight, between the two its Canelo who badly need the win, fighters like Canelo's stature cannot afford two losses in a row.

It's still too early to talk about the 4th fight, it all depends on the result of the third fight,

I think regardless of the result, I'm now assuming there won't be 4th rematch.

The reason is very simple, if GGG wins, he already even the series and that's a good moment to retire. If won't retire, he will just fight other boxers. On the other hand, if GGG loses, that's it. Canelo will not be interested anymore in the 4th rematch.

But yes, too early to talk about the 4th fight. The trilogy even gets years in the making before happening for real.

we should definitely wait for the results of this trilogy before anything else. talks about 4th is useless if we have no results yet of this upcoming fight. but more then likely, GGG will retire from the world of boxing after this. i don't think it is his advantage of fighting these new bloods. better retire and enjoy what he got from this sports. and i can understand why many of the users here are rooting for GGG. if he wins, that a big bonus before his retirement. let's see...

I think even GGG will win or lose here, there's no way the 4th match will happen.

As I mentioned, GGG might probably face Lara after the trilogy. After that, he might consider retiring now even if he will win.

And for promoters, it seems it's not worth any more to arrange a fight for an old GGG against Canelo.

Not just that. Canelo has lots of time left in his career to make some good achievements and push for his goals. GGG on the other hand is obviously now in the retirement period of his career. I also like GGG to win here but not saying I'm not a fan of Canelo. Just want to see GGG having a good celebration of his retirement. Holding a title in retirement is something that most boxers don't experience.

It's because between the two, GGG is more likeable I would say. I mean Canelo became so arrogant and brandish, of course it's because he can back up everything he says, but for the majority of us, we like boxers that are humble.

And also in their first two meeting, the fight could have gone either, or maybe we don't need this trilogy as this could also be 2-0 already in favor of GGG. The last reasons is that we love underdogs, that huge odds, we can bet just small money on it and maybe if there is an upset then it will be a good win and profit for us.

I don't know if people would still be excited about that given the age of Golovkin. In fact, my excitement for this third match is not anymore as intense as if this was made several years earlier. Canelo was busy entertaining other fights after winning in a controversial rematch against GGG when the business between the two of them wasn't settled with finality yet. And now that he's lost to Bivol he's given GGG the chance to put a finality to this. But GGG has already grown old, way past his prime. But I still believe GGG can pull off a nice win over Canelo on this one.

However we look at it, GGG at 40 is never the same GGG. He's not the GGG that actually defeated Canelo. The GGG that we will see a little more than a couple of weeks from now is the old GGG, a fighter that is not anymore in his prime. But he's still a great fighter at that, so I hope he will still inflict enough damage on Canelo to win this rematch.

I cannot say whether GGG was robbed twice. What I surely know is that he was robbed. And that Adalaide Byrd scorecard in their first match was unbelievably ridiculous.

If this fight ended with a KO and Golovkin won this fight then all we can say is that he is still one of the best fighters in boxing history and prove that last their last fast two fight ggg can won. But this is only the predictions because we all know that ggg is not his prime years, and in his age like other old boxers experience his movement speed is getting slower and slower every year has come. But if GGG has a good timing then for sure a good knock out will expected .

When will people stop speculation on GGG age? Canelo is not a young boy too. Stop turning this fight in to old vs young, as it is about experience vs experience. Professional athletes age is something different. Some athletes retire at the age of 30, some are feeling great at 50+. We are comparing GGG age from our regular body/age point of view. A lot of people at 40 now have back pain, their knees hurt, hard to go to 5th floor by stairs. GGG has been training for entire life. He has trainers, diet and etc. He is not like many, spending whole day hunched over behind pc, or spends whole day on sofa with beer and chips. if someone think he is slow and has bad reflexes already, then I suggest that man to go to boxing gym, to and old trainer and try to punch him. That old man will easily dodge and throw few bombs into your face.

Yeah, I know that of course, that's why I'm hoping that GGG will win so we will again see an exciting match. GGG will surely not retire if he wins because fighting Canelo again would result to him making more money, well, that's boxing, it's business so it's mostly about the money.

No one say Canelo is a young boy, but I don't think 40 years old person can be said as prime age for an athlete. It's more appropriate to say young adult vs middle age adult, since 10 years old difference have so much different.

You're correct if an active 40 years old athlete wouldn't have a back pain, hurt in their body etc and if an young unexperienced person fight with him, he can easily beat the unexperienced person.

But we're talking about both people who want to become the best, of course they need to have everything at the best.

I agree with your thoughts, but most of the time, we can't really take that away in any sports, sooner or later Father time will caught up on anyone, no exceptions. Of course Canelo is also not that young, he just started early same with GGG. It's that GGG decided to stay at 160 lbs his favorite weight and become one of the most successful middleweight and he could be in the discussion for the GOAT on that division. So as the saying goes, boxer is good in their last fight, so we will see if GGG can still maintain even at age 40 and have the strategy to beat Canelo hopefully in the trilogy.
