Losing because you're unlucky with goal opportunities is not the same as losing because you play shit; we're just playing shit, and nothing will change if the season starts anytime soon
Maresca looked frustrated from the game, like it just dawned on him the level of work he has to do to return Chelsea back to better day. I am not sure he expected that his team will concede that much goals.
Chelsea have to start well, and not try to chase other teams all season long.
When you're starting a new game plan with bunch of random kids with little experience it takes a lot to time and effort to get it working it's going to be a long season.
Still a long way to go before the start of the season but Chelsea's friendly game fixtures could have been arranged a bit better.
After a game against Club America they have City, Real and Inter. If they get hammered in all of them (which is a realistic possibility considering that they were against Celtic), it might ruin any confidence they planned to enter the season with.
They are the only team in the PL in which I cannot be sure in more than 4-5 players as starters. Such an unusual thing in football, especially on such a high level.
A superb test for Enzo Ball and his side; those are the types of games we should be playing to put our strength to the test against some of Europe's bigger teams now that we're mediocre. We should have the entire team before those games; no excuses, we should give a good game, anything less is unacceptable.
