Chelsea's victory over Dortmund was deserved by them because from an executor's point of view, Chelsea has many choices of players who can do it. What's more, Sterling's performance is clearly the key to this success. He is able to open up a lot of space to create goals. Havertz once again if the penalty is not repeated then as usual he will always perform badly, but this time he was quite lucky. Dortmund are struggling up front because of the lack of specialist long-range executors, this can be seen from the use of set-pieces that don't dare to go straight to goal. To be honest, I was quite disappointed with Dortmund's performance in this match. I thought Dortmund would continue their dominance in the second leg like the first leg and win.

Where did you see that if dortmund was much more dominant in the first leg? i could not even find that. Chelsea has more ball possession, more shots on target and more goal attempts compared with dortmund. Did you see that correctly? As a guy who bet or dortmund fan and that was a very disapponting result by dortmund. Otherwise, chelsea fans and its gamblers are so happy.

After losing against Arsenal in round 15 of the PL on November 6, 2022 with a score of 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, Graham Potter switched from a back 4 formation to a back 3 and the result was also losing against Manchester City 2-0 in the EFL tournament on November 10, 2022 and also losing against Newcastle with a back 3 formation as well.
From these two defeats, Potter returned to a back 4 formation and the results also disappointed the Stamford Bridge public.

Is it possible that with a 3-back formation like the one used when beating Dortmund can make Graham Potter will get applause again in the next Chelsea matches this season?

Potter has been using this formation for quite some time now and just that it did work today because of how too offensive the dortmound back line was. My guess about Benfica match was right (Benfica getting easy win by at keaay conceding one goal). It was obvious and expected result. Benfica is going surprisingly good I suppose they may hit semi finals even. Like why wouldn't they beat Chelsea? They are not that weaker.

Brugge was not an equal opponent for benfica. It can be seen from how benfica absolutely dominated the match against brugge. Benfica against brugge was an easy money. that's it. You can imagine that for people who pick benfica will be winning two times easy money in row.
It's very easy to predict it if benfica will be winning easily against brugge.

There was not much excitement in the match from the first half but after half-time the excitement started and from the second half of the game benfica scored 4 goals in a row. Yes it's true that the two teams weren't equally strong, Brugge was a slightly weaker team but they weren't so weak that benfica could give them 5 goals. But benfica did it and beat Brugge 5-1.  Which was a truly incredible score. I was a bit bored during the first half of the game and switched off the TV but suddenly turned on the TV again to see the excitement of the match. benfica doing really well

Chelsea made a statement today when every one doubted them. I doubted them and thought they would lose by a lot but they made it look easy today. I wonder if Dean Potter has finally managed to get the players playing like he wants them because after the whistle went they were celebrating like they won the Champions League. Chelsea fought pretty hard, I don't think they can get rid of Dortmund with 2 goals without a reply. Chelsea had very little possession but when they had the ball they immediately went on the offensive with the finish. although not many are right on target. but statistics show that Dortmund is struggling to find loopholes to create good finishing options.
Anyways, congrats to Chelsea fans and also those who bet on Chelsea. they have to get better because the next opponent will be more difficult.

That's great achievement for chelsea. Even though dortmund was playing so harsh at the second half but that's all very good for chelsea. I saw that if dortmund was so many fould in the second leg. Jude bellingham has been showing the habits of young player as he was very emotional in the second leg and after the amtch too. Glad to see that chelsea was able to be qualified for the next round. It can be said that if chelsea will be also one of strongest candidate to win UCL.

The matches will be Bayern vs PSG and Tottenham vs Milan for today.
For the match between Bayern and PSG, it seems that Bayern will be favored in this match. Bayern has the advantage as the host. and also in a fairly solid team condition at the moment. but like before I have chosen Chelsea which many others doubted. So this time I will also choose PSG, which also seems a little doubtful in this fight. but with Mbappe's presence for this match I'm pretty sure PSG will be able to win in this second leg.

A pretty sweet comeback was shown by Chelsea in this match. Of course this is something very good for Chelsea because at least even though they still haven't been able to make a good performance in the EPL they can still qualify for the next phase.

On the other hand, for Club Brugge I don't think there were too many surprises with the result although I was a bit surprised by the score in this game.

There are already 2 clubs now, it's just a matter of watching two other quite interesting matches because Bayern-PSG and Tottenham-Milan will definitely present something very good to watch.

The 2-0 victory that made Chelsea qualify cannot be proof that Graham Potter has been able to give the best to Blues fans considering Chelsea is still stumbling in mid-table or still far from the top four of the domestic league standings.

With the amount of money spent by Todd Boehly to shop for players wanted by Potter has not been balanced with what is obtained at this time.

Benfica was no question to me that they are going to win their second leg against Brugge as well, but I thought that Benfica could save some power and not go for a 5-0, but they wanted absolutely zero risk in that game and went for the decision as early as possible. Even though it took until the 38th minute, everyone could see that Brugge needs a wonder to resist that pressure for much longer.

The first goal from Benfica changed everything for Club Bruges. They had more of a chance at any possibility in the game until that first goal and it felt, all hell broke loose. They just couldn't defend there post well enough and there goalkeeper couldn't make an attempt on any of the Benfica goals. Just howany touches do you let a player have in your keepers box before the defence clears it out? That was se of there many mistakes. Allowing players to run behind them and find there aim at the post. The Benfica team was just so coordinated all through the game.

But something else was impressive. Did you guys see the goal from Bjorn Meijer in the 87th minute? What a shot that was! He made it look so easy as if he would do that shot very often. Now I want to see Benfica Lissabon in a tough match up to see where they really stand as a team.

Sincerely, I don't know I'd o would say it was luck or intentional to ha e taken that shot the way he did. The technique was on like nothing I've seen and he took it perfectly, was precise and found the top far corner of the net. The best consolation goal they could get from this season's UCL.

A lot of people would now probably say that it was just Brugge, but the way Benfica Lissabon played the game, the maximum confidence on the pitch, I think that they can compete with any of the remaining teams in the Champions League. What I don't see is coming is that they get destroyed by another team. They will definitely be a hard nut to crack.

Now we need to see who is going to make it to the next round. There are still opponents like Porto, Milan, Tottenham, Inter Milan, all teams where I think that Benfica is no weaker than them.

Roger Schmidt also is a great coach. Full of enthusiasm but very disciplined, I like that and I wouldn't be surprised if we see them in the semi finals. It is refreshing to see teams play that good that are not called Real Madrid or Manchester City

And maybe watching Bayern vs PSG can be a more exciting match. I hope PSG will not disappoint in this match. even though they are guests in this game and Bayern are the hosts in this game. Chelsea advance to the Champion league quarter final stage, despite they're struggling. Todd Boehly spent lots of sum for buying players wanted by Potter. Yet not convincing Chelsea fans with their performance. Chelsea really have good players, all they need now is a good manager. So, Despite 2-0 result, I won't support the idea of supporting Graham Potter by any means. However, Chelsea recognize their seriousness in one of the most prestigious tournament in football, but they are quite opposite in their the domestic league standings.
