Spain are leading the game with two goals, scored within five minutes, and knowing this Spain team, I say that Croatia surely has no way back from this because Spain will push to score more goals as they usually do. Spain team are showing lots of vibrancy with the young, hungry and experienced players that they have mixed in their team. This points will be important for Spain because they have Italy in their group, and even Croatia who are loosing currently cannot still be ruled out. Croatia and Italy remain a strong threat to Spain's plan to qualify past this stage.

Croatia's defense was very poor, that's why they failed to prevent conceding 3 goals in the first half. The Spanish players were very intense in building attacks, they didn't even waste any opportunities they had. Croatia will certainly improve their attack instead of strengthening their defense, so they will try to improve it in the second half.

So far Croatia have also threatened the Spanish defense in the second half, but again they still failed to score. Spain's defensive concentration was still good, but there were several weaknesses that were exploited on the right side of the defense, although they still failed. Yamal almost scored the fourth goal for Spain, but his shot was saved by Dominik Livakovic.

I think am a bit surprised watching this particular match and seeing the current score between the two teams, I was expecting to see a very tough game between Spain and Croatia and I had already picked 1:1 or 0:0 to be the final score but Spain shocked me by scoring 3 goals in the first 45 minutes.

The Germany and Scotland match yesterday can't be compared to the ongoing match between Spain and Croatia because Germany is a more balanced team than Scotland and the red card that was given to the Scotland player made the game more easier for Germany to gain for domination and score a lot of goals. I wasn't expecting Croatia to concede this number of goals in this game because they have a very good team but maybe they will get better in their next game because from the performance of Spain in this particular match, I think they will only allow Croatia to enjoy the possession while they keep hitting the ball at the back of the net.

Am still learning how this Croatia defense could let Spain get the ability to get in three goals behind their net within the first half. The game was as good as over right from when the third goal by Carvajal was secured in the added time before the half time.

Spain are calmly set up, so direct with the ball in this game, playing  so clinically with intense pressure on Croatia which got me thinking that there's a possibility for more goals to come in for Spain. This game is beyond the strength of Modric and it's just going to be a right thing to do if the Croatia coach could substitute him and bring in a younger player because Modric to me he's just not giving that impact as he's known due to age. However, am not seeing any signs of a comeback from Croatia.

The first half wasn't very good for them which is a blunder that makes it difficult now.   The rest of the time Spain really gave a good account of themselves. They lost possession but they were able to create their own rhythm which made Croatia fall into the trap of their own schemes . 

Now 3 goals in and with this I doubt Croatia will be able to make a difference. although there might be at least 1 goal for them,  but it wont make a difference because Spain's play in the second half has been very confident and they won't be easily shaken mentally after the current 3 goal lead .
I didnt expect Croatia to fall behind like this but with the scoreline the way it is now its likely they'll struggle to get their mental faculties up even if they try to keep attack .

Left ten minutes later and Spain still lead over 3-1 against Croatia, its not Croatia national team we know how easily defeated by Spain although their starting line up most of debut and youth players such as Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and Robin Le Normand.
Its nice opening match for Spain almost success securing three points and lead awhile of Group B to make easily for upcoming two matches left against Italy and Albania.

The match statistic, Croatia performance not really bad had dominance ball possession but get difficulty for scoring goals although had 13 shots with 4 shots on target. I think get difficult for Croatia if loss three points on the first match because still has difficult opponent teams against Italy  on last phase group match.

Football is full of surprises it is almost 90 minutes and Croatia is still lossing 3-0 to Spain, honestly I wasn't expecting the score line am seeing. Now the match has entered the second half of extra time. The score is still 1-2 in favor of Switzerland. but moments before the match finished Switzerland increased their lead, now the score was 1-3 and Hungary had to admit Switzerland's superiority in their first match.

Switzerland could score one more goal. Both strikers were able to score though. Hungary were better team than the 1st half.

Hungary performed better in the second half because it looked like they had a strong motivation to catch up with Switzerland, and when compared with the first half, Hungary became a good team move with dispatch. It's just that from the several good opportunities they had, they could only score 1 goal, and what is very unfortunate is that they again made a fatal mistake which became their nightmare. A blunder in the final minute paved the way for Switzerland to get their third goal.

Yeah at least the second half wasn't as chaotic as the first half because in the first half they seemed to lose control and had to be under the pressure and rhythm of the game from Switzerland which made them unable to develop the game but in the end it was also not enough to make them avoid defeat.

The first 15 minutes of the match and the 10 minutes before the end of the match are always a problem that Hungary cannot avoid in today match because they seem to lose concentration at the beginning and towards the end of the half which is a blunder for them.   In the current match between Spain and Croatia, there is a bit of hope that there was a consolation goal scored by Croatia at the crucial time but unfortunately it was disallowed by the VAR. It was a bad end for Croatia in this first match of the Euro.

The swcimd half ended goalless and Spain was able to walk away with three goals which they scored in the first half. The second half was boring until when the penalty kick came in, but luck was not still on Croatia as they lost the penalty because the goalkeeper was able to punch it out. An offside led to cancelation of the goal scored after the Spanish goalkeeper punched it out.

Croatia lost focus in the first half and that cost them a lot because before they realized it, three goals was already inside their net. I am looking forward to watch Italy match coming up soon.

Croatia might get a chance against a weaker team than Spain but in this game things got over them and they were bypassed by the quality of Spanish players.
In the other match, Switzerland won also by three goals against Hungary which was able to score a goal.
For me, these two results were expected exactly like I bet. Italy will play later vs Albania and should win also.

Can anyone explain why the goal was disallowed? I didn't see the VAR broadcast in detail it's a bit confusing, could it have been offside?
I'm here expecting both teams to score and that's the expectation where Croatia can take a penalty well but it was saved, but a little confused with this disallowed goal.

my initial thought was that crotia would give Spain a very deficult time in this match but looking at how Spain was able to show complete dominance against crotia, it just goes to show the level of dominance we have in the Spain team. Statistics wise, crotia where the better side and with a 16 shots and five shot on target against Spains 11 short and five shot on target and a possession of 54% to 46% all going in favour of crotia, one would have expected the match to end in at least 2:3 or something close to a draw but this is just one reminder that you don't do a team analyssis based on statistics alone. Spain knew that what was  necessary is to score goals after get all three points and they went for it, played like the through champions and secured there win. So far, it's just an easy start for the big team and it's wonderful to see sain and Germany showing complete dominance in Thier respective groups.

 Croatia didn't get much chances inside the box of Spain but the little they got was wasted and I got wondering how a team who were literally silenced by Spain in both halves be able to get another shot and as if that wasn't enough, they got a penalty and had to bottle it.
Maybe it's still early to judge, but if they continue with this performance, I believe they will get kicked out of the competition because with how we are seeing other teams play, I don't think there will be room for this kind of mediocre display.

Now that Germany have shown that this tournament will come with many goals, I have to resume playing my usual style which I used in the season that just passed. I have to wait for the completion of the first legs, so I can filter the teams that are in scoring mode, thereafter, I will chose 2 or 3 of them for over2.5 and over3.5 goals for all their matches irrespective of whoever they meet. I have already added Germany to my selection and I'm hoping to add France and possibly Italy or Spain. This pattern helped me so much in the past, the win rate is high even though it is not 100% efficient. I just  have to develop a strategy Which is what is needed to succeed in gambling.

Croatia actually performed quite well at the beginning of the match but they were unable to take advantage of the momentum so they had to suffer a defeat today, even actually Croatia was more dominant in possession of the ball and often created many chances in front of the Spanish goal, but it seemed that the impressive performance of the midfield was not supported by a good enough attacking line so they often threw away opportunities in front of the goal,  But apart from that, we should admit that Spain played more effectively than Croatia and even their attacking line today was quite capable of destroying the Croatian defense today even though they created fewer chances than Croatia.

The match between Italy and Albania, it seems that it will also create a lot of goals later, Italy of course has a more qualified squad than Albania, so I think there is no chance for Albania to beat Italy today, I don't see any Albanian players who have the potential to create surprises in the match later, so it is very likely that today Italy will win easily from albanian.

0-3 is a serious blow. First of all, because this greatly worsens Croatia's chances of reaching the playoffs from third place. There are games with Italy and Albania ahead, and if in the game with Albania I have no doubt about Croatia, then in the game with Italy it will be difficult. The main problem is that they need to not only score points but try to correct the goal difference from -3.
Even if Spain and Italy draw with each other, it is unlikely to greatly increase Croatia's chances of getting into the top 2; in such a short distance, one game will practically knock you out.
