I am not denying the fact that they may get home advantage in 2024. Right now they need to rebuild their team, after the humiliating performance at FIFA 2022 (failed to qualify for the round of 16).

The only advantage that Germany will have in this UEFA Euro 2024 will be their fans because the tournament will be hosted in their country. But I don't think there will be any advantage for German football because it is already at high level. German Bundesliga belongs to the best five European football leagues. Besides, Germany already hosted FIFA World Cup in 2006 so they have experience in hosting tournaments like this.

I have many doubts about the Germany that we saw in Qatar, because they had a good team, what I did not like is that Tony Kross was not there and it was essential to do it, I think that Muller lacked more communication with his players, also I did not see action from Gotze, will they play the same level of players that they brought to Qatar? Yeah, but that's 4 out of 51 matches that was played in the whole competition. That's not much (less than 10%). And in the World Cup last year there were 64 games played and about 5 or 6 of them ended with big goal difference. That's OK too. And how do you expect that nations who are not that strong will end up against strong nations? There probably will be few surprises but most of the games will be a one way street where a one team will attack and the other will defend. Is that a game that you will enjoy watching?

If the percentage of one-sided matches in Qatar 2022 remained low at 10%, how can you assume that it will go up during North America 2026? You are just making an assumption that increasing the number of teams would automatically result in more number of one-sided matches. I don't agree with that assumption. What I have noticed from Qatar 2022 is that the gap between the top-10 teams and the remaining teams have narrowed. For every match that ended up as one-sided, there were three matches that can be considered as upsets. Teams such as Morocco and Cameroon made the world cup more interesting this time.

@babo I’m kinda surprised as to why do people yet feel that Germany is the favourite to win this tournament, because even with the home advantage I’m pretty sure that they’ll be eliminated early because they no longer play the fearless football liked they used to play in the past. I have a feeling that Germany is a dying team. And I agree with your argument that France and England have a better chance to win the tournament when compared to Germany. The Germans have performed pathetically during Euro 2021 and FIFA 2022. They are unable to find fresh talent and are heavily dependent on players who are in their 30s, such as Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and İlkay Gündoğan. They have some younger players like Lukas Nmecha, Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko. But these players are yet to prove their mettle at the international stage.

Indeed, one of the big problems for the German national team is the regeneration of young players, but if you look at the names in the Bundesliga or in other European competitive leagues, there are actually so many good names to fill out the German squad. But again the role of the coach determines who will be called upon to defend the German national team. When talking about Neuer, it should be time for him to retire, even though on the bench there are still good names like Ter Stegen, but I don't know why coach Hansi Flick chose Neuer over Ter Stegen.

I am sorry but that was 8 years ago. I know 2014 feels like just yesterday but pandemic started about 3 years ago, 3 years! Time just flies very very fast and 2014 was 8 even 9 years ago, I confused it with 2022, so even I mistook it, it was 9 years ago!

But world cup wise, it was in 2022 so it was 8 years difference. This is why it's normal for Germany to be not as good as they used to be, it's not the same players, sure some of the players were same, but they were 8 years older and some of them were younger and newer players that didn't play in 2014. It means basically a whole new team at that point and we shouldn't expect them to do the same.

At the last European Championship, France played very poorly and was eliminated early from the competition.
In the last competition of the League of Nations, they almost fell out of the elite group and were saved by Croatia's victory against Austria.

even before the world cup started france, brazil and argentina were the only teams that had any chance of winning the world cup, there is no such thing as luck in having been in the group of weak teams or having played against weak teams, frankly there are excellent players in their team, they would beat any team in the world cup, even if franca had played against other teams that they consider strong, franca would have won, everyone knows that in the draws of these events there are always 2 strong teams and 2 considered weak in each group, of course this is only on paper

Well.. it was fun to watch. With just 10 minutes remaining in the regular time, France was nowhere in the picture. Argentina was having around 70%-80% possession. Ever since I started watching the world cup in 1998, I have never seen such a one-sided final match. But then things changed with the penalty kick in 80th minute. And a few minutes before that the Argentine coach had withdrawn di Maria after getting overconfident. What happened after that is history and everyone were glued to their seats for the next 40-50 minutes.

It started as one of the most lop-sided final matches, and ended up as one of the most exciting ever.

I agree, for 80 minutes it was pure Argentina and I really enjoyed watching it that way too, just to see a team win and it was world cup finals so it wasn't really a bad game, sometimes it just one team winning.

But then Mbappe happened and suddenly we got a very close game, not even just that but after that 3-3, we had one position where Kolo was against Martinez and everyone looked at that as a sure thing, even French players got inside the field for a short meter or two to celebrate and then Martinez saved it. All in all it was the craziest game I have seen in a long time. 99% sure that France could be easy winners for this Euro, they are still quite young to keep winning.

The biggest problem for Germany is that they are unable to replace their star players who are close to retirement - such as Manuel Neuer,    Thomas Müller and Marco Reus. Look at the other European teams. Most of them have promising players rising through the ranks - examples are Mikkel Damsgaard (Denmark), Bukayo Saka (England), Kylian Mbappé (France), Federico Chiesa (Italy), Matthijs de Ligt (Netherlands), Erling Haaland (Norway) and João Félix / Rafael Leão (Portugal). Even Spain have Ferran Torres and Eric García. Unfortunately for Germany, there are no capable younger players coming up the ranks.

I agree, for 80 minutes it was pure Argentina and I really enjoyed watching it that way too, just to see a team win and it was world cup finals so it wasn't really a bad game, sometimes it just one team winning.

But then Mbappe happened and suddenly we got a very close game, not even just that but after that 3-3, we had one position where Kolo was against Martinez and everyone looked at that as a sure thing, even French players got inside the field for a short meter or two to celebrate and then Martinez saved it. All in all it was the craziest game I have seen in a long time. 99% sure that France could be easy winners for this Euro, they are still quite young to keep winning.

I was not impressed by France and I don't see them as favorites in the European Championship, at least not as main favourites.
At the last European Championship, they were very bad and lost to Switzerland, and in the last edition of the League of Nations, they also played very badly and almost dropped out of the elite group.
At the world cup, they managed to reach the final, but they were not very convincing to me and they were also lucky.
It seems to me that the relations between individual players are not the best, especially between Mbappe and Benzema and this conflict probably affects the whole team.
I think that England, Holland and Italy will also have a great chance at the European Championship.
