I didn't receive notifications from this thread, and if not for the PM trofo sent today, I'm sure I'd miss the entire campaign because my attention was only on the sign up thread, and because I didn't see a list of accepted users, I assumed the sign up was still open. There wasn't a classic accepted users post, but there was my post with all accepted users sorted into respective leagues. Those were graphics but I again tagged all of you inside that post.

Sign ups are permanently opened so spread the word and we want more players. More players means bigger rewards, larger leagues and more fun. New players enter into third league and more of you in lower leagues gets promoted next season. So win-win for everyone.

I see that I have got a draw against Harkorede. It is a difficult draw for the first week and the most of our answers are the same. To be honest, my chance of winning here is very difficult when I look at the remaining questions. Maybe I can manage to get 1 point if I'm very lucky. As I joined the World Cup Cro2 team organized it wasn't very difficult for me to adapt to the contest. It looks simple and fun.

I would like to say that I waited for the last minute to make the most informed decisions like this competition deserves but unfortunately it is simply the case of not having enough time to do anything that is fun instead of work related.

I know what you mean, and have 24 hours per day is not enough sometimes, and I can't function without sleep 
When I organized EFL Championship competition I had to make strict schedule to function normally, for you guys it must be even harder with BSFL, livecoin and other activities you are doing.

Cup could actually be a good idea like side competition across all leagues but first we need to have these leagues settled properly and all off you comfortable with the competition. It is already too much rules on paper and we don't want to complicate it any more.

At least some of you guys are getting paid to use the time from work to do something fun lol I remember there was a time it was so bad I was asking some of my mates to cover for me for a while during shifts just so I could post some things in SB threads or wait for specials to show up.

But tthis is of course related to betting anyway so I guess it would have happened with or without SB lol

jayce it seems quite tight for us though I cannot bother counting all the other results so we'll just wait and see, but so many close results that change just with one goal, or in Bayern case, 1% possession gave me 1 point!

Thankfully I got off to a good start with 2 points on third and fourth question. DireWolfM14 and I answered most of the questions totally different so I guess it's will be a battle to the very end

The 1st question is a h2h duel. You can win a point even if you get only one semifinalist correct - or lose if you get both correct but fail to guess the winner.
It depends on what your opponent selects as well.

Ah, that good. I misread the question and thought that in the first question we get one point for each correct answer. For example, if Tsitsipas is the finalist and looses, everyone who answered him to be one of the finalists gets one point. I guess I need to read more carefully in the future

You can get only 1 point per question, so 10 points maximum per round. If you get all 3 correct tennis players in that question you only get 3 points inside that question in your h2h duel for 1 point.

basically, you can see answers from your opponent, and decide on that (cannot be sure that you will guess it right, but it is an edge certainly)

since I am involved in this (my pair), I have to say that I am speaking generally, and do not want to speak about this round, but when spreadsheet is live, there should be no more submission, you could keep the spreadsheet as closed, if you want to have extended deadline for submissions

Basically late submission mean that you already lose a few points and are at a disadvantage from the start and we don't really feel there is any edge in seeing what your opponent answered - although if someone is behind choosing the opposite of your opponents' questions is a strategy he otherwise would not be able to do.

not sure how to call this "advantage", but we play different pools here, in Superbru, KickTipp, FPL, also UEFA/FIFA, and neither will allow you to see opponent picks before lock yours or deadline pass (no matter how late you are and do you have any chance), at least as I am aware, so there is definitely something in that

and regarding last sentence, IMO, you should reveal only picks from already pass deadlines questions, that is what above mentioned apps do, and could be seen as a standard

Oh! It is what it is, you are in your right to say what you want in that sense, it is valid, read well, your concern is correct.

Although I share it; I think, your position (conjecture) of the real reason for not delivering on time, and assuming actions for those who find themselves in that situation is unpleasant.

The point is, although we are not talking (I mean it in the literal sense), things must always be said in the right tone (e.g. his final ideal), but you are adding gray tones, it's rude.

I find it unpleasant, for a niche where we are almost always the same players.

The picks ARE locked. The only questions we asked were for answers that weren't clear, when somebody inserted more clubs etc. We were careful that these did not change by much, so you could not pick another players or teams - you could just clarify what you meant.

This is a new competition and your inputs are welcome - please share them. It is a bit more complex than usual and it will take us some time to be able to predict everything.
The last thing we want is that people feel cheated or something like that.

Considering the picks hiding - we're using Excel sheets. It is modifiable (only by us, but still), therefore it has to be public. If it is not, we are risking that somebody tells us that we changed some answers by ourselves.
That is the reason why we can't show the picks after the games end.

I feel that what I offered is a good way forward and we'll test it like that in the future. Punishing a player who forgets to insert the questions for the 1st game or 2 with an insta-loss for the whole round is a bit extreme and we won't be going down that road.

That would be ideal but it is much harder to implement and until now there wasn't any real need for it. We will monitor the situation and react if this continues to happen.

Late submissions are already penalised in a way that they have 0 points for questions that started. This time they will get 0 points for tennis questions since they had more info about tournament than rest of us. That means that you have advantage of points collected on day 1 as well as point for tennis questions in case you get just one finalist correct. Should be more than enough to offset any advantage gained from seeing other people answers.

This is something we can definitely tweak, it could more strickt but this seemed like most fair solution for all.

I somewhat agree with casperBGD but I'm not sure what can be done. To me it looks like there are two choices. Either the whole table will be hidden until the deadline for the answers passes, but then someone can question the transparency of the whole competition. In that case anyone can say that he gave a different answer than what's in the spreadsheet.
The other choice is to leave it as it is. I think that the World Cup competition was organized in the way that everyone could see other player's answers as soon as they were given. I think that's OK too because to me, transparency is more important than the possibility that the opponent gets a small advantage because he saw my answers.

I explained already what we're going to do in the future, maybe it wasn't clear enough.

We have to keep it transparent so all answers will be visible before the first games - but after the deadline has passed.
At that point there are no changes to the answers.

If 2 players did not submit on time we'll let them submit later with a penalty of some games not being counted, but we'll also hide the answers from their opponents in the spreadsheet.
That way most of the answers/pairs will be known, but players who submit after the deadline won't have any advantage.

Just to notify you that SB has topped up the wallet with 5k$ in rewards - it was 0.217 BTC at the time we received it, so the BTC price was around 23k$.
