@famososMuertos @mv1986 I agree Div2 is pretty damned impressive for getting the most points, but on the other hand, it suggests poorer opponents. One might argue that the division with the most points dropped is actually the toughest (most competitive), since matches are always so tight -- in which case Div3 is actually the most competitive league in the maiden season

On competency (how good players are) Average Goals Scored would be the better indicator, since you need to get a question right, or answer more accurately than the opponent, to score a point. You'll see that Div1 (40.08) and Div2 (40.67) are much closer in that aspect (though Div2 still comes up on top). Div3 is significantly lower in that regard, with only 402 goals (36.55 average) scored.

Didn't adjust numbers for late answers or missed rounds... I believe that only happened in Div3?

Yeah this is pretty much the essence of BSFL as well. Some people need to realize that every player need to maximize everything that we can use including time and data from the sports that needs to be analyzed. I mean yeah its pretty much luck dependant at some point but as long as we submit before deadline then everything is okay

@Strongkored I have Ons Jabeur Quarter 2 outright at almost 4/1, women's didn't have an outright winner market when I checked, might be available after today, I'd definitely double down on her. Not expected to win so soon after recovery but I like the odds.

She will play against Olga Danilović today, looks like she will pass this round but won't go further because this year she hasn't been that impressive in major tournaments.
What will be interesting in my opinion for the women's section is the match between two very young tennis players under 20 years old Mirra Andreeva vs Coco Gauff, the odds are not much different so this will be quite balanced in my opinion

Yeah you do need a physical skill, for football it's not just about physicality being a player like Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar require a high football IQ which in my opinion psychological, while eSport other than pressing the keyboard require a vast IQ level to be able to compete at the high level of IQ as well.

The rule catalogue sounds comprehensible and I also like that you now did decide to include a penalty. It might not have been as relevant in the first season, but it could always have influence with very undesirable outcomes.

If someone does not submit answers, it is then a 3-0 for the opponent? I think you adjusted it from 7-0 to 3-0 in one case last season, which makes sense. Will there so be  cup again? That's a nice addition to the league.

After new BSFL season starts I can post any upcoming bigger combat sport events in this topic and you can select what you like for your questions.
I am daily following everything connected with MMA and for boxing I follow big fights and heavyweight category with Tyson Fury.
I think this will make BSFL competition more interesting.

Re combat sports -- I think it's high time we had it in BSFL and it would seem to be we have quite knowledgeable players in our midst. jeremypwr also comes to mind, after all, he hosts all the boxing and MMA prediction threads (also Sportsbet sponsored). Could be a resource. Personally, I think boxing is "bigger" than MMA, at least in terms of reputation, but I know there are lots of MMA fans who would like to prove me wrong

We basically have, we're waiting for final confirmation and for the money to arrive to our escrow wallet. It's Sportsbet, so no worries
It won't be drastically increased - but to be fair when we discussed the rewards with SB initially we told them yearly seasons (or at least 2 seasons per year).
This season will be 5 months long, the previous one was 4 months long - and they are still approving the same 'season' budgets that we agreed, although it's for shorter periods - so it has to be said that their investment in BSFL is quite substantial.

If someone does not submit answers, it is then a 3-0 for the opponent? I think you adjusted it from 7-0 to 3-0 in one case last season, which makes sense. Will there so be  cup again? That's a nice addition to the league.

I am daily following everything connected with MMA and for boxing I follow big fights and heavyweight category with Tyson Fury.
I think this will make BSFL competition more interesting.

Please read it carefully, some minor things in the rules have changed and we removed some insignificant and outdated rules from Season 1.

It feels amazing to be back on this thread; I thought we'd have a long holiday to relax our players before returning for season 2, but it's still fantastic to be back. I understand you're all incredibly busy, but when will the fixtures for this season be released? I looked on the OP and couldn't find it.

I agree with you, but MMA appears to be gaining more attention than boxing these days. I'd say it's more fascinating than boxing these days, at least for me; I'm just tired of seeing the same set of boxers battle themselves over and again. MMA offers something unique.
