Proper image hosts like Imgur, ImgBB and Postimages all have some sort of deal with content delivery networks (CDNs) to basically cache user images on their own servers so that they 1) load faster and 2) do not strain the image host's resources.

To be honest, I think that CDN is a waste of money (pardon me if I'm wrong) and since the image limit on TalkImg is 2.5 MB, that should be very easy to load for everyone all around the world. I think that loseless compression or automatic convert into WebP formats are better alternative but again, if I'm wrong, tell me.

Friends, I recognize each sat already donated to this project, as an act of trust in it, I do not want to disappoint that trust at any time. That's why I don't want to make decisions that don't have the support of the community and could jeopardize the original idea of ​​the project.

You are amazing! The reason why I asked you if I could upload images that aren't intended for Bitcointalk, is that TalkImg is a very good platform and it's already in my hand's muscle-memory. I automatically type TalkImg when I want to upload an image online and I think that's a very good achievement of yours. I believe, there will be many like me.

I don't mind seeing some ads in order to help the project. And besides, you'll be giving the user a new functionality. I think if you make it clear that the ads are for maintaining the system, you won't have any problems.

It is not a bad idea or thing to introduce ads on the talkimg site, I mean, as a matter of fact, i have been seeing ads, and it's never been a problem to me because the ads are correctly placed  in a strategic position where it doesn't disrupt or interfere with the user's reason for visiting the site, which often is to upload images, get links to the uploaded image for whatever purpose it is meant for.

I don't see why we would have a problem if talking has ads, not all funds have to be given only for the cost of maintaining the site, why its owner wouldn't get some kind of reward for his efforts.
I remember before talkimg introduction I used imgbb and similar services that were crowded with pornographic advertisements.
In the end, almost all of us carry some kind of advertisement in the signature area, it would be hypocritical to criticize others for the same thing.

why is the discussion about ads so tight here?  i agree with you that ads are really needed by developers for site maintenance costs, so it's okay if talkimg.com has ads in it, why should we make a fuss about it.

I don't mind either. At the moment, I see a small banner space down the Start Uploading orange button. Those ads are okay and necessary for the project to keep alive. I'm against Popup ads and I believe joker_josue will never let that happen.

Thank you very much. I think it will be good if we have two guides, a short guide and an advanced guide. I'm learning myself some things about image compression, algorithms and how it works because I need it for one project. I'll read your guide and try to improve it if there is a room for that.

As many of you may know, in November TalkImg allegedly suffered a DDoS attack. This caused considerable instability in the services for several days, forcing us to make several adjustments and changes in order to stabilize and return to normal.

We felt the need to set up Cloudflare and start using this service. It wasn't something we intended to do, but given the circumstances, it was the decision that had to be made. We took advantage of the situation to upgrade the server, becoming even better prepared for the growth of the project and future attacks of this kind.

To date, we have not been able to understand the reason that led to this attack. As we have always said and continue to say, we do not store any personal data of users, nor do we have any other type of sensitive content on the server. If the objective was to finish the project, they did not succeed, as this project is to continue and everything is planned in that direction. We appreciate the support this community has given throughout this process.

Although TalkIng was unavailable for several days, the service continued to be used. Here are the numbers we were able to gather for this month.


Here are the numbers for the month:

	Number of uploads in the month:  2 975 (-4 950 that in the last month)
	Total disk space in the month:  0.99GB (-1.31 that in the last month)

It's working on my end, i just checked and used it, I didn't experience this error yet but it looks like the problem is in the image file being uploaded. Have you tried different image to upload or have you tried it again if its working or still not?

I had tried with several images. Mostly screenshots. But It didn't got uploaded for some reasons!

Anyway, I just tried it again, and now it's working, somehow fixed...weird bug lol

Part of this data included the thousands of connections made by the DDoS attack. So it is difficult to determine which traffic was legitimate and which was not. That is why I preferred not to present these numbers.

It really is strange. And since you didn't do anything different, just tried again later, it was probably a connection failure.

i just checked on my end, and everything seems to be fine.
it might be a false positive from your antivirus. which one are you using if you don't mind sharing?

I have Avast on PC. Now tried on phone without antivirus and was able to access website.

This will be a false positive. Perhaps generated at the time the site suffered a DDoS attack, causing the antivirus to generate this information.

The website was reset to a new server after the DDoS attack, based on the offline backups that are maintained. Therefore, we can guarantee that no data has been corrupted and the site is safe to visit.

Either way, always keep this in mind: I will never ask for money to upload, I will never ask for personal data. If at any point, a website pretending to be TalkImg is asking for this, it is guaranteed to be fake.

This error usually occurs when some type of error occurs in the user's connection.
It may be a server issue, but this is not usually the case.

After all the stress of November, in December we return to having a normal month. We now hope that everything continues as normal, in order to give space to continue evolving and making the platform grow.
