If you have the TalkImg tab open in your browser for too long, or if you don't refresh it after the previous upload, this type of problem may occur.

When this error occurs, what I usually recommend is closing the browser (or tab) and reopening it, so that a new connection to the server can be re-established.

This is a typical behaviour of talkimg, something i don’t have with other websites I use. Wondering if it is caused by some back-end choice that is peculiar and different from other implementations.
By the way the way, not a huge deal, i now have a muscle memory of reloading opened tabs of Talkimg before doing anything!

By the way the way, not a huge deal, i now have a muscle memory of reloading opened tabs of Talkimg before doing anything!

This isn't something unique to TalkImg; it happens on all websites.

Even in Bitcointalk this happens; if you leave the post creation page open for too long, when you try to post, an error will appear, the page will reload, and you'll be able to post again.

So everything depends on the server configuration, to define the waiting time for the response from the user (computer) and the website (server). This often goes unnoticed because many websites store sections in code, cookies, and similar systems, which prevent users from noticing it. TalkImg does not collect that much data; it uses only the minimum number of cookies necessary for functionality and does not perform any type of session tracking.

Breaking the connection between the user's computer and the server is a security measure to make it more difficult for someone to try to use that connection channel to abuse the system.

Furthermore, I don't see the difficulty in clicking F5 (refresh) on a page that has been open for a long time - in fact, it's a recommended behavior, on this or any other website, for user safety. Even here on the forum, you should check if someone has made a new post before replying.  Roll Eyes

EDIT:
I would like to inform you that I looked into the issue mentioned by previous users more thoroughly, and I noticed that yesterday, about 12 or 15 "images" were uploaded with 0 bytes, indicating that an error occurred during the upload.

I checked to see if there were any problems with our servers or the upload system, and there are no errors recorded at this time.

Based on the analysis we were able to conduct, it appears that there was likely a connection failure between the user and the server. This can eventually happen to a user occasionally, but it's unusual for it to happen to several people almost simultaneously. However, it was probably a moment of server overload (which can always occur), resulting in a longer response time and causing the connection to drop for security reasons.

Therefore, if you experience any unusual behavior again (even after refreshing or reopening the site), please share it here, including a zip file of the image, so I can run tests.

We have no record of any problems with the services,...

(I'm going to take advantage of it, and complement what I said the other time here, that I didn't want to advertise,.... But, I usually upload photos, and they are always larger than 3.2mb, this on a weak device, setting to the worst quality, and then, I send it through whats app, and it already resizes automatically, and then I connect WhatsApp on the PC, copy the image and paste it on the talkimg.com, I already acoustum like this...)

The forum only accepts images up to 2.5MB. If the image is larger than that, neither the forum nor TalkImg will accept it.

You are not the only one who has this problem (I have it too).

So, I used an alternative  - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5568423.msg66173801#msg66173801

I initially thought the file size was the issue, but after checking, I was convinced that couldn't be the cause (it's only a few kb). Uploading another file also failed. I suspected there was some kind of problem with talkimg, and your post only confirmed my fears.

It's not critical, and we'll wait until the problem is fixed. Fortunately, there is a saving alternative.

This is an error that keeps coming up once in a while. A few members have reported it here before and it got resolved. I think it's a small glitch that may soon be rectified. I also tried to check if the upload function was working, but I also got the same error. Something like;
Code:
...png - Request denied (401)

If you have the TalkImg tab open in your browser for too long, or if you don't refresh it after the previous upload, this type of problem may occur.

When this error occurs, what I usually recommend is closing the browser (or tab) and reopening it, so that a new connection to the server can be re-established.

In any case, if the problem persists, please let me know so I can try to investigate it in another way.

-So, I believe you didn't understand it well,...
I opened a parentheses, to tell you what I do to redeem the image before uploading it to Talkimg,
because, for security and to have a certain guarantee that they will not be deleted from the server,
so in this case, I said that I use Whats App and I already arrive at Talkimg with it smaller than 2.5m...
but, then, I'll give another example, when it becomes more difficult to do this through WAP, is when I already have an image saved somewhere and it's greater than 2.5,

So I'm going to put the image here on the server it's on, and it's over 3.3m, however, it appears, but I know that its url signature is temporary and it's going to expire, so knowing that, I copied the image, and threw it on imgbb, where I know that for pre-upload, they accept up to 32m, and I can resize it before uploading to less than 2.5., then follow the examples>

1, image large than 3m, on another server that i know that will expire>:

2, The same image of the server that will expire, but copied and resized in the IMGBB to less than 2M, before i'd up-load> :

...
I still think that the right thing would be for me to upload it to TalkIMG, however, I had no problem with images deleted from IMGBB, because I took a look at some of my oldposts with images and the only ones that were not deleted were from IMGBB, But even so, I'm still in doubt about moving to TALK-IMG...

-----------------------------------------------------------

-Now, about the error that the server was having yesterday or today ,(There was a problem on the website and it was temporary, it lasted about seven hours.) it does not refer to image size and or because the site has remained open without updating, because I always close or update it, just as I did several times when I saw this error happening, and then I also realized why ChartBuddy did not post his images for a period of seven or eight hours, It would be an indicator, because every hour he posts an image automatically,  In addition to other users here also having reported the same problem, so I'll leave here the link to the last ChartBuddy post, before this problem happened and you can check the time and time he posted again,  lattest post ofchart buddy before server error

it would be a good reference, so you don't think that the problem was on the side of those who reported.

I'm sorry for insisting on this, because I think that those who prefer to use talkIMG, think the same as I do, that the images will not be deleted, and want the small improvements, to avoid having to spend that time, using WAP, having to use another site to resize and then go to talkIMG to upload the photo.... because whether you like it or not, I'm here writing, because I believe in you, in a way trying to help you, and not to come here just to talk and imply, on the contrary, I'm giving you examples of where you can see how it works and adapt it to the site...

You don't need to apologize for insisting. I didn't intend to leave any messages anywhere, just to explain how some things work.
As I said, I appreciate the information shared, which will help in trying to understand what may have happened.

Given that I have no record of any unusual errors in the server logs, nor any information from the hosting provider regarding maintenance or errors, I am having difficulty understanding what could have actually happened, other than what I have mentioned.

As I said, it might happen to one or two users occasionally, but it's rare for so many to happen at the same time. Therefore, it must have been some kind of error, perhaps even caused by Cloudflare (I'm eager to ditch them... but... anyway), but I regret not being able to say – at least not now – what it might have been. This also makes a possible resolution more difficult.

In any case, I'll continue researching to try and understand what really happened during that time period. I think it was the first time something like this happened; after all, no system is without flaws, we have to accept them (occasionally).

Regarding image compression, I think you're taking too many steps. There are much simpler ways; I myself have made an additional script available for compressing images: https://zip.talkimg.com/

You can still follow the steps outlined in the following guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5521638.0

Either way, I hope to bring news about this topic soon (yes, I've been saying this for a while, but it's getting closer).  Wink

Make me the 3rd user to encounter this "Request denied (401) error" today..  Grin Yeah, I saw it too. And I did exactly what anyone would have done, gave the site a quick refresh, then tried uploading, as you said the previous time, the server severs credentials connection if the tabs are kept open for too long. But to my surprise, it still didn't work. Only after completely clossing the site and starting anew, the upload went through (3rd attempt).

Well this wasn't any of a big problem, and as u said earlier, no system is perfect. I'm just happy that we have to face this kind of errors so "rarely".

Maybe this problem has happen to more than two or three..I’m the fourth person  Roll Eyes, because I also encounter this same issue when I was uploading the last image for my contest entry some minutes ago. I tried, tried and tried but the same result some error has occurred and the system couldn’t process your request keep showing up after patiently waiting. I initially thought it was my browser after the tenth attempt and then I decided to change to another browser but it’s still showing the same error report.

I had to use Imgbb to upload the last image  Embarrassed

Nevertheless, I hope this is fix soon. Thank you for Talkimg..

What the hell, I can't post a picture in one of my recently created posts. It keeps showing like this.Is this just my case or is everyone else facing this?

Not only can't upload images, but when I want to open my account it can't be done and there is a message
"Request denied"
"You either don't have permission to access this page or the link has expired".

Are there some updates or issues that are being addressed, Because in the last few days it seems like the same thing happens a lot,
But yesterday my account was still login, but now it's logged out and can't log in anymore.

Yesterday, after seeing your post, I checked and followed your recommendation. After that, I was able to successfully upload the image. Everything worked.

But today something went wrong. More on that below.

I went further and checked in 4 browsers (just now): brave, opera, firefox, chromium. In each of the browsers, the same message as yours appears.

And has anyone clicked on the provided link "error report" which may display some useful debug info? As nobody posted additional details, I doubt anyone has.

Edit:
I just tried myself with Firefox browser in private window (to avoid cookie/cache issues) and got "No file has been uploaded", too.
The "error report" isn't much verbose, except maybe for the picture's filename and http error code (401) being shown.

@joker_josue
I appreciate that talkimg.com only uses minimal data for a session, but maybe the "error report" could at least display a time-stamp or something more useful that a user with an error could safely post when issues are reported?

I'm pleased to inform you that the service is now operational again, and we have discovered the reason for the recent outages.

The website's backup system entered a loop for some reason (probably due to an update that changed a setting) and started duplicating backups. Despite having considerable space on the server, the successive backups caused the server to fill up.

I couldn't detect this situation right away because the system is also configured to delete old backups. So, when I tried to understand the reasons, the first time there was no error (because everything was working as it should) and everything was already working.

The situation has already been resolved, and we are taking care of everything to ensure that something like this does not happen again.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused! Thank you all for your support and help.
