Is it just me or the zip feature is not properly working?
I have been trying to upload serveral pictures via mobile over the last week and the zip tool has always failed.
It tried only via mobile, using different browser, starting from last Friday probably and the zip tool has always failed.

The ziptool is working from my side. I just used it to upload an image from my mobile device and didn't encounter anything like you. Btw, the zip tool is in beta phase afaik, so errors are expected.

Try this..previously when I faced similar problems (not with zip but main version), this caused the issue and following the steps also fixed it.

Did you have the site open in a tab for a long time?

For security reasons, sometimes, when the page is open for a long time without activity, the server turns off the credentials connection (let's call it that). Even when browsing the site, the upload system may not work correctly.

If this is the case, try closing the tab and reopening it or force refreshing the page so that it loads new credentials.

it does work for me either.  on my Macs which is what I tend to use.

On this side, tested from Google Chrome (mobile) with and without VPN, it worked perfectly on jpg images between 2 and 2.2 Mb, with prior authorization to upload them to the cloud with the device.

I also tried with a +5 Mb 8k image and another +13mb in png format and it also worked.

From what I see, there are perhaps three possible problems:
1. The image format, 2. The size, or 3. A network block that prevents the images from uploading. Perhaps an antivirus, sync issues with your internet connection, or a VPN that's detecting the site as insecure.
A few months ago, I remember having problems when I didn't use a VPN; I couldn't access the website.

Something just happened to me regarding an image created with chatgpt, I wanted to upload it to talkimg and it wouldn't let me, I ran it through paint (the windows editor) and saved it in jpg (it was in png) and it uploaded without problems, what seems to be a problem with certain metadata in some images.

Although a review of the code says: UNDER MAINTENANCE! Uploads temporarily suspended. We will try to be brief.

Perhaps it's simply internal bugs, and we're overthinking it.

I just tried uploading something and its working fine for me with no issues whatsoever so issue is probably on your side. Or maybe it was sorted in the meantime.

This is an old issue that I have encountered countless times. I have reported it and even discussed it here multiple times.
Did you happen to keep the TalkImg tab open for a long time? Below was the solution joker_josue suggested to me previously.

Btw just tried uploading from my side. And it uploaded without any issue.

Have you tried it again? I tried it earlier and just now after reading this comment, and it works just fine, i'm using desktop btw. Refreshing and refreshing the page might help.

I've been checking and part of the server I have no record of any kind of problem or instability. Everything has been working normally without any complications.

We have to remember that the forum only accepts images up to 2.5MB, so the site also has this limit.
There are images that claim to take up less space, because they are compressed via metadata. When the upload begins and the metadata is removed, the image increases in size and the upload fails.

We already have a fix that will minimize this situation and ensure that with the removal of metadata, the data defined by them (dimension, orientation) is kept.
I hope to be able to perform this update soon.


In cases of upload failure, as already answered, the problem is when the page is open for a long time but unused
When they want to use it again, it is important to force the page to refresh before uploading.

Internet is fine since I'm browsing and watching stuff currently. Btw, I did a restart of everything, like device, router etc.

it happens sometimes, just hit 'Ctrl + R' to reload then re-upload or just hit the  cancel button at the side , it could be some sort of error handling...
What i do notice as well is that it retains old uploaded data sometimes until I hard refresh, although I haven't experience that recently but I don't know if anyone do experience this at times.. OP can look into that too.

This can sometimes happen due to a break in the connection between the browser and the server.
Sometimes it only takes milliseconds to be enough for the upload to get stuck. The server waits for the browser and the browser waits for the server. As they are both waiting for an answer, it stays like this and nothing happens.

I have tried to maintain a quality and fast server, but it only takes a small instability in the Internet connection, a momentary increase in traffic for something like this to occur.

When this happens in the future, just close the site and log back in and upload. In most cases, this solves the problem.

I would like to thank the many participants in this contest for choosing TalkImg as the hosting option for their pizza images. Congratulations to all participants, and we hope to know soon which pizza was the forum members' favorite.

Plans for the next update are a bit delayed, as I've been involved in other projects, which I hope to announce in a few months, which I believe will also be useful to the entire Bitcoin community. Believe me, the update hasn't been forgotten, but you want to prepare everything well before moving forward with it. It really could be an interesting idea.

Maybe something direct wouldn't say, but maybe having a helper tool that does it in a few clicks/seconds can be interesting.
I'm going to explore the idea.

Fcuk! I've been out of touch with the forum for quite some time, and I recently realized that Bitcointalk has its own third-party image hosting site. I'm really happy to see that one of the legendary members, joker_josue, has created a dedicated server to address image hosting issues. Good luck to him! I believe it's also time for Bitcointalk to allow videos to be posted, and if that happens, joker_josue could upgrade his hosting services accordingly.

It will be another milestone, and I am pretty sure another new patch might be required for the existing forum software version. It is time to make this forum more interactive. What do you think?

When I wanted to upload image, I've always been downloading image and manually uploading it on TalkImg until today and I feel so stupid for not doing this before. As it seems, you can copy the image in the browser and then paste it on TalkImg. The image will automatically be uploaded on TalkImg, so no need to download and reupload them manually.
I don't know how many people know about this but I think that it is a nice idea to give them a hint, i.e. write somewhere that users can copy and paste the image on TalkImg. This will help people to not download and upload it like me, it will save them some time.
