Tried to upload a Gif today, the size was too big, so I was asked to go to the zip version of Talkimg, & ended up with this error....

Attaching the image for better view. Hope that helps in fixing the issue.

Try the link without the "www." just https://zip.talkimg.com/

I still haven't been able to resolve this configuration issue on the server, since I changed the server and have Cloudflare. I believe it is my fault for not having dedicated the necessary time to the topic. I will try to resolve it soon.

Have you tried adding a CNAME record in DNS settings? I don't see a similar entry in your DNS records at the moment.
In your case on CF:
Code:
Type: CNAME
Name: www.zip
Content: zip.talkimg.com
Proxied
TTL: Auto

Also, you should check does your SSL certificate covers both the domain and subdomain zip.talkimg.com?

His site certificate covers talkimg.com and arbitrary subdomains *.talkimg.com.

When I entered zip.talkimg.com in my desktop browser (Firefox), it tried to open https://www.zip.talkimg.com, stupid browser or whatever caused this. (I know you can turn off this lame www. prepending by the browser.)

This gave me
Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.zip.talkimg.com. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).

Error code: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP

  •    The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

It looks like your network security settings might be causing this. Do you want the default settings to be restored?

If someone requests www.zip.talkimg.com you could redirect to zip.talkimg.com, like a permanent redirection. Only I don't know exactly if this still screws up the encrypted connect with https.

One question, more for users in Spain, Italy and Greece: have you had difficulties accessing the website or even the forum on days when there are big football matches?

I know that Cloudflare has been facing unnecessary complications due to radical anti-piracy laws.

i don't know what joker_josue's opinion is on this, but i noticed today through some spot checks that quite a few translations are not maintained with joker_josue's monthly updates
my opinion is that if i make myself available to translate a thread/topic, then i am actually also responsible for constantly updating the translated thread with all the new things...
unless the user who translated the thread back then is no longer active here - that's another matter...

When the link is copied after the image is posted on talkimg, a height weight is automatically set which makes an image very wrong shape unless the size is changed manually.

So op can you program your site in such a way that the main size of the image will be applied automatically then if someone wants to resize it then manually edit it and if no resizing is required then post it that way. If you did that is fine enough as even a beginner would understand how to change the height weight. Because that link contains the code to change the size of the image.  However, if this size were more accurate, it would be more appreciable

How do you mean wrong shape? From what I've noticed, image keeps the original ratio.

What I would like though is if those height and width codes are not enabled by default when you upload an image. I know its just one click to remove it, but it would be nice to be without as I prefer to do it by myself. Then again, maybe majority like it the way it has been set atm.  Tongue

In a way you are right.
I myself fail in my own Portuguese translation.  Lips sealed

In any case, this ends up being the responsibility of the translator. When I make the next update I will quote these users, to draw attention.

Exactly. The size that appears is the original. Without any editing.

Regarding whether or not to have this option by default. You can copy the option without this feature.

But, some users asked for it, others prefer not to have it. So, it turns out to be difficult to please everyone. Now it's like this, tomorrow we can change, to please everyone.

I took a screenshot of your profile and the size of this screenshot shows 804*1242px on image info.

And when i post on talk img image size automatically set 1390*692px

I don't know is everyone facing this or not. but talk img working wrong for me. I tried to explain it in my post. almost all images look better if no custom size is set.

@Leonair I uploaded an image that I know the size of (width & height) to determine if the image size I uploaded is the same size that appears in Talkimg. By doing that I confirmed that the size I uploaded in Talkimg is the same size that will be shown in Talkimg. As like as Rikafip mentioned.

Maybe you uploaded two different images.

Yeah I understand that some people prefer it (I guess they even asked for as if I remember correctly it was something that was added later on) its just my own personal preference and as you said you can't please everyone.

Continuously use this type when adding images to posts. Although I give the size by customizing it after extracting the link. However, the size that it automatically suggests is not wrong. Normally, it takes the size that is needed and later on, you can customize the height and width of the image to see how much is better.

I have not seen any problem where the image size is wrong without changing it manually. Normally, it suggests what is needed.

 Statistics  February 2025____________________
The last month has been quiet. I have been analyzing some projects, which may soon be integrated into TalkImg, and so I have no news to share yet. No guarantees yet, but maybe next month I'll be able to present a list of the most viewed images.

The numbers dropped a little, but the month was also a little smaller. So, everything is working normally and we hope it continues to be a useful project for everyone.

Here are the numbers for the month:

Number of uploads in the month:
4 760 (-1295 that in the last month)

Total disk space in the month:
1.49GB (-0.69 that in the last month)
Number of visits to the talkimg.com website in the month: 12 381*
Estimated number of times images were viewed on the forum in the month (hits): 1 081 479*
 Bandwidth in the month: 63.25GB*
*This data may not represent total/real numbers, because of Cloudflare.

I just remembered something. There were many times where I noticed I get multiple unique links when I try to upload an image from my mobile browser! I don't know why this happens sometimes. I usually don't close down any tabs in my mobile browser. Normally, I would just click the tab section and find the previously used TalkImage tab (currently 63 tabs in background), click "New upload" and end up with 2-3 links after uploading a single image. Is it because of my previous uploads or browser cache? I never checked what photos these other links contained. Smiley

Is there any reason why Duckduckgo, google and other search engines were prevented from creating a description for the website in the search results. Like this?

or it's a useless feature for talkimg.com?

I am just trying to possibly learn something new  Smiley

Is there any reason why Duckduckgo, google and other search engines were prevented from creating a description for the website in the search results. Like this?
This is the reason:
Code:
User-agent: *
Crawl-Delay: 20
Allow: /index.php
Disallow: /
Only index.php is allowed to be indexed, but it doesn't exist.

Smiley

I believe this is a browser cache issue.

What I can suggest is not to have multiple tabs open on the talkimg website. In the same tab, click on "new upload" and follow the normal procedures. This will help avoid this situation.

As LoyceV commented, this was due to the configuration of how search engines read the site. I must have made this configuration at the time I had the confusion with the server, and then forgot to reconfigure it.

But I've already fixed this, and it should be resolved within hours/days. Thanks for the heads up. Wink

@joker_josue thanks for the new update. will update my two translations tomorrow at the latest Smiley
but didn't you want to tag the respective users so that they are made aware of this update in order to incorporate it into their own translations?

You're right, I ended up forgetting. Tag now.

New statistical data from TalkImg has been published. You will be able to share it in the topic you translated. Thanks.
