This was a fierce battle especially as Arsenal wanted revenge against Bayern Munich after Arsenal's massacre in the past, with Bayern scoring five goals in a match against Arsenal at least three times. Moreover, Arsenal is on fire this season, even in first place in the EPL league, and Arsenal's game is much better under Arteta.

However, it is true that this season Bayern Munich's performance is much worse than Arsenal, but they still have more experience and especially since they almost lost the Bundesliga title race to Leverkusen, you can be sure they will put all their concentration on the UCL. Both of clubs have been making significant improvement and arsenal is not as weak as what it used to be. Actually, Bayern Munich are still in the same performance as last season, because if we compare them in terms of points, actually their points tally is not much different, it's just that what makes them look like they are declining is because Leverkusen has performed so extraordinary this season that it has created a big gap. Since the competition will be between Manchester City and Real Madrid, we will see either team in the semi-finals. We usually consider the semi-final and final matches to be more competitive but this season the quarter-final might be the most competitive as the quarter-final contenders are Manchester City and Real Madrid.

First we will have two exciting quarter finals to watch and it's great opportunity to enjoy exciting football between two strongest candidates for a title. Second, one of them will go to semi finals and continue to be one of strongest candidates for a title with three other clubs.

I only hope that the winner from this quarter final pair will go to semi finals with no player injury and no suspended player because with best squad, they will be able to contribute best semi finals for us.

Matches between Manchester City and Real Madrid are hard to predict results and even the last season, in a first leg, their match was balance and difference was made only in a second leg. I expect to see the same for their quarter final matches this season, difference will be slim enough to argue even the winner is actually deserved to win or not.

The two legs of the quarter-finals will be tough for Manchester City and Real Madrid, but the next steps will be much easier for those who can overcome this hurdle. If Real Madrid go to the semi-finals, they will not have a tough opponent like Manchester City in the semi-final and final matches. On the contrary, if Manchester City goes, they will not get a tough opponent like Real Madrid. That is, considering all these things, we will consider the two quarter-final matches between Manchester City and Real Madrid as the most exciting matches of this season.
