I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

One thing I've come to understand about this gambling of a thing Is that, there are people who are have spend both time and energy including money they make daily profit and have made a fortune out of gambling, also there are others who have spent both time and energy and have had numerous loses than gain and still continue playing to try recover their lose or earn a fortune as well the difference between these two people is success and that has answered it all because so far you're successful in gambling it means that firstly you understand the risk management behind it and applied it with good strategies time and effort to gain profit, whereas that's one thing the unsuccessful gambler lack and they'll want to play gradually to try win which is where the addiction comes in, there's no gambler who doesn't suffer lose at a point but a good gamble knows when to pause, also know when to apply strategies that would reduce risk, I believe that so far you're successful in gambling you stand a good chance to be free from addiction.

If someone who gambles for the first time can win some money and be considered a successful gambler, they must deal with the confidence that will build up and cause them to be overconfident to go the next round. They must know that in the next round, they cannot or find it difficult to win the game again because maybe their luck has run away. And it is from continuing to play that novice gamblers can become gambling addicts, especially if they don't have self-control in gambling. And things will become worse when they gamble even more and only lose more than before. But if they can control themselves in gambling, especially when they win, they can stop and withdraw their money. Maybe they can become successful gamblers in the future.

Yes, you definitely need to be lucky to get any kind of money from the casino.

Having said that, there is a clear difference between a person that gambles at a game where the odds are 80/20 against them, and someone that gambles at a games where the odds are 55/45 against them.

Sure, in both scenarios the casino has an advantage, but the second person clearly is more skilled at gambling. Both need luck, but the second person will clearly have more chances.

If he can't control himself in the next gambling game well, he can become addicted in the long term. But if he could do that, he would be fine and be able to enjoy his gambling. But getting a big multiplier is a sensation that we will never forget and will probably continue to tell about it to anyone. I can't agree with this. A successful gambler for me is someone who was able changing his life to be even better through gambling. Winning gamble at the first time can't be considered as a successful gambling. Winning the jackpot once is just the beginning, the real challenge is whether he can continue to win it for a second or third time. It's also depend on how big the prize already won by that gambler too. Success in gambling is not just about winning money, it's about making significant changes in one's life through gambling, which is why I do not consider someone who has only won a small amount of money as a successful gambler. He needs to prove his consistently in the gambling. That's why a successful gambler has become addicted to the gambling caused by he was regularly playing it.

It's a bit ironic because a successful gambler will have to stop gambling at some point to actually be considered successful.

If they keep gambling, they will eventually lose all their money and their status of successful gambler.

But no ones wants to hear that, they just want to hear about this mythological creature that keeps winning against all the odds all the time. That is just fantasy.
